I've been watching you just about since you started, back when you were actually a bogey golfer. The journey was cool to watch and you definitely are not an 'average golfer' and havent been for a while. Those short misses can take the air out of your sails quickly and jump up the score. Love the content, keepem comin.
Used to play this course several times a week during high school (mid 2000s). What a blast from the past, even if it looks quite a bit different these days!
haha it's a tricky course. I think out of the other public/muni options like Charles T Myers and the like that this one falls pretty down on my list of priority plays, but it's a TRICKY COURSE
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf fun little fact for ya: because it was built on a landfill, there would occasionally be resurfacings of objects from the landfill. The 8th used to have a tire poking out of the ground, for example.
It truly is not the best course to play if it rained anytime that week lol.. one of my favorite courses is Edgewater in Lancaster because of the layout and the 18th hole.
Hello Alan, Mount Mitchell is looking better than it has in a while. The greens are still slow but we are working hard to get them back to where they need to be.
Love to hear it! I've moved into the CLT area now but if I get the chance to come up that way I'll definitely be looking forward to giving it another go!
I’m in Hickory. Would love to play one day. You’re losing too many strokes on reading greens and short chips. The rest of your game is solid. Can’t have 3 putts. When you take practice swings on chip shots always swing like your shot. Brush the ground three times before you chip and rotate your body with the handle pointing to your navel. Keep the vids coming sir.
Chipping and putting has come to life recently tbh, been working through some feel things and chipping in muddy conditions is always a 50/50 lol Wouldn't mind coming up and playing Rock Barn at some point! I've got a lot of travel coming up but hit me up on IG and we can figure out a time!
never understood why today's players hit a 58 or 60 chipping from just off the green with a lot of green in front of them. to much room for error. hit a 7 or 8 and get the ball rolling as soon as possible. lot easier shot, especially on slow greens
Mostly bc these greens were lightning and there was no stopping the ball with a mid iron like that. I'm also used to practicing chips with all my wedges since they all have the same bounce.

Oh shoot just saw this, I didn't get in until late as it was anyways unfortunately
You should try to play Waterford in Rock Hill, SC. It's owned by the Panthers and is a pretty solid course.
Good shout will add it to the list!

Yeah I definitely need to get out to Edgewater, lots of people I've played with recommended it as well
Love these local golf vlogs, go to Rock Barn (lmk if you need 1), Cramer mtn golf, or Catawba Creek Gastonia
I've played Rock Barn once before and I desperately want to go back. I'll lyk when I go!

Damn shame they don’t have the resources to get this course into good shape. Absolutely fantastic layout; just in such poor shape
