So... did anyone else think Kirby was in Mario Kart 8 for a second?

To be honest I did :P i would hacve been SO excited
I honestly thought that this was a trailer where they introduce cross-over characters for Mario Kart 8. Still think it would be cool to have Captain Falcon, Kirby, or Sonic in a future Mario Kart game.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the environmental lighting in Mario Kart 8 look fantastic? I'm so happy to finally be getting HD Nintendo tittles.

Rosalina looks like she's gonna be pretty boss if you master her Pikmin/Olimar/Ice Climbers-like moveset. I'm pretty stoked on her.

Nintendo is the only one of the "big 3" who cares about giving their customers actual value for their money!!! Free DLC, Free 24 hour Trials, and games that don't require microtransactions! These is the kind of things that keep me supporting Nintendo!!!

Do some research before making comments. What about Sony? You get Free DLC(LBP,Soul sacrifice), Free game trials, Free to play games and the fantastic value for money PS Plus. Every month you get games for your PS3, PS Vita & PS4 to download. These is the kind of things that keep me supporting Sony.

Not sure why some people are getting mad about Hyrule Warriors. Iwata just said that it's not the next installment in the series, but a spinoff. It's obvious they are working on a the next installment, they just haven't it showed it off yet. I'm happy with what I can get. The game looks interesting, hoping it's some sort of co-op play or something.
Rosalina must have saved Nintendo or something cause she has been getting WAY more respect than Daisy.

Tylerburrito Daisy's first appearance was in Super Mario Land (1989), where she was an important character in the story of that game!

It's strange to see so much criticism in the comment section. I felt all of these announcements were very exciting and fun. Good job Nintendo!
One thing I do admire in particular about Mr. Iwata and Mr. Fils-Aime giving the Nintendo Direct presentations themselves is that it shows that these company presidents are actually up and in the know about their own products and aren't afraid to stand behind their offering themselves. Not a common trait among company presidents much at all these days.
And am I the only one who gets hypnotized by Reggie's hand gestures during his many presentations? They're just so...presentationalistic. (Yeah, I just invented that.)
Man, nobody does DLC (or ensures quality DLC from other companies) like Nintendo!

HiIm Bob **personal preference** There's only been two Luigi's Mansion games, and they can greatly expand on that with Wii U. And remember, this is my personal opinion, but I believe that it's time to see a new Mario game. Every Mario platforming game since 2007 has been a sequel (with the exception of 3D Land).
Sir you have a good point but their has only been one Super Mario Sunshine game, and I would rather have a new Super Mario Sunshine game than a new Luigi's Mansion game, and that my good sir is my own personal preference.

This was an amazing Nintendo Direct! I was smiling the whole way through getting even more excited about finally owning a Wii U this Christmas and discovering the awesome surprises that Nintendo's next gen system had in store. Good show! Also I'm glad to see Chibi Robo finally making a come back.

A new Yoshi! I'd love a remake or Yoshi Story 64. That Robo game actually looks like a LOT of fun, and of course, I'm getting that Link/Dynasty Warriors hybrid game, hands down.
I must say, this was a pretty darn good Nintendo Direct especially the last part. Happy Holidays to everyone and Nintendo :)

Hold on! In SSBB, there was a four character rule for the fighters. With Rosalina, that's 5 total Super Mario fighters. So there's a chance that other franchises will have more fighters. Come on Ghirahim!

Ainsley Harriot it isn't announced yet but it is announced the day before the direct happens and what time.... it usually starts pretty earl like a 6:30 or 7:30 You can also look on Nintendo Facebook page to see when the direct will happen.
