Thank you Lisa. I joined the Masterclass and downloaded the file for Norma Jean. But ,when I went to the printers shop they didn’t have the A3 paparr so they did it on regular 8by 11. I asked them to copy the pattern on cardboard so that’s done. Nevertheless I am worried that the change in paper will have some effect on the dimensions? Do you know? I am eager to start the class and listen to your so precise and simple explanation. Thank very much !
Oh thank you thank you thank you! As a bereaved mother I can’t even adequately explain how much I needed to see this tutorial today. I have just recently been dipping my toe into sewing and artwork again after losing my beautiful son in a car accident 4 years ago. I found your channel just about a month ago and love your work. This is amazing and bless you for sharing your creativity and gorgeous work with the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh Robin I’m so sorry to hear about your son! I came here to learn how to make a memory bear for my sister who also lost her son in a car accident 4 years ago. I will be praying your art and sewing (especially of this memory bear) gives you some comfort.
Oh bless you. My heart goes out to you and I really hope you enjoy doing something like this in memory of your son. May it be part of the healing journey for you. And then you’ll have something to cuddle as well, which may even smell just like the memory of him as well. God be with you as you sew and create a special memory. ❤
I literally brought home all of my brother's shirts after he passed away unexpectedly. I want to make memory bears for his twin daughters. Thank you so very much for the free pattern.
I was thrilled beyond words when I came upon your RUclips channel and found these beautiful memory bears. My husband passed away a few years ago from brain cancer and I finally got brave enough to cut into some of his shirts and blue jeans to make my three kids a memory bear using something that their dad wore. I also attached a special photo pendant with each of my kids with their dad on it and hung it around the bear's neck. This will be their Christmas presents for this year . If there was a place where I could show you a picture I would but I don't see anywhere that I could share a photo of the completed bears. Thank you so very much for sharing your gift of all the beautiful things you sew and for taking the time to share your patterns and instructions with us. I've learned so much from watching your Channel and I can't wait to make more of your beautiful things for my children and grandchildren. Have a wonderful day and Bless you always!💜💜💜
Hi Laurie, thank you for sharing your heartfelt story with me, I hope Creating has brought you some peace and distraction from your sad loss. I would love to see your Beautiful Bears, you can share them with me on Instagram or On our Facebook page, the links are below the video. Take care my friend 🥰
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS TUTORIAL!!!! Thank You from my heart! My daughter lost her son to a drug overdose 2 years ago. It has been a daily struggle for our family. It was only recently she asked me to make her "something" with a couple of his favorite pieces of clothing. I am SO VERY GRATEFUL for giving me the the guidance to give her a BEAUTIFUL MEMORY. I will post as soon as I've got it done. GOD Bless you!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I made 8 memory bears for a family from shirts belonging to their late dad and husband. The hardest part was bringing myself to cut up the shirts for the pattern pieces. I cried so much. It was a huge task for me to undertake, but I am happy with the results. The bears will be given to the wife and 7 siblings on Christmas day. Thanks again from Australia
I made a bear from your pattern and instructions from fabric left by my mother passing 23 years ago! I never knew what to make with it and it was a bit moth eaten! But I was able to cut it from undamaged pieces. It took me a while but I finished it recently and am very happy to have made use of the fabric in this way! Mine isn't as good as yours of course but thank you so much for sharing this freely! It's meant a lot to me ❤
Your generosity in sharing your design, techniques, and detailed demonstration is unparalleled ! You do indeed “pay it forward”. I have been wanting to make memory bears for several years and even tried a few., but couldn’t find a pattern that was special enough for the significance of these bears. And most of them turned out quite unattractive when made from non-furry fabrics. And you shared it all for FREE ! Thank you !!
I am so excited to do this. My grandson is getting married and my goal is to make bride and groom bears for their present table. You are so detailed with your tutorials. Thank you so much! I will pay forward with this. God Bless
My father just passed away this November and this is the first pattern I've seen of a memory bear that looks so nice. He loved his flannel shirts and I'm going to start a bear for my mom and daughter with this pattern. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern and I pray mine turns out as beautiful as yours. I appreciate your video on how to create this bear. It's going to be such an emotional and endearing project for me. I started to cry last night as I was cutting out his flannel shirts but it will be worth it when I'm finished.
You will create beautiful Bears because they will be filled with your love and respect. This will shine through in your results, I hope creating will bring you some peace and distraction 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing, after 25 years after my sons passing I wa sready today to sort out his moses basket, unpicked all the material and have been searching for a pattern. This has come just at the right time ❤
This is a brilliant pattern. I have a suit jacket that belonged to a friend's father, that I think will make a beautiful bear for her. So much nicer than a simple pillow.
You are absolutely amazing!! Thank you so very much! I lost my son and I can't afford the other patterns that I couldn't follow anyway. You are a blessing! 🙏💖
Oh my I love this bear, your work is beautiful, I lost my mother-in-law two weeks ago suddenly and I want to make a few bears for the family, got all the pieces cut out but after watching your video numerous times and frightened to start them I realised a lot of the fabrics are her t-shirts will ordinary interfacing do.
Hi Jacqueline, Sorry for your sad times😞 I hope creating will bring you some comfort and distraction, A medium weight fusible woven interfacing will work well on those T shirt fabrics🥰
Ideas plus!! and even more tips and tricks of the trade. Can't wait to make this one, you are so generous with your ideas and creativity. Stay safe and thank you for all that you do and for always paying it forward. 💕🥰🤗
I’m making this as surprise Christmas present for my mother-in-law. I’m a quilter and she wanted me to make a quilt with the pjs her mother wore the night she passed away. There was not enough fabric for a quilt but this will be perfect. Her mom collected bears and I hope I can pull this off. Thank you so much for the pattern and instructions
Beautiful looking bear! Best I've seen. My Dad passed away last year and saved all his shirts to make some bears with. Been looking for something suitable and this bear is it. Thank you.
How amazing is this video? AND she has a terrific personality and demeanor! She obviously knows her stuff - but she is Not talking down to us! Thank you @! So well done!!!! Hugs
This is an exceptional video, your attention to detail is absolutely amazing, I am working on my 1st memory bear I have used some of your techniques but on my second bear I will follow all instructions from start to finish. I have been watching several of your instructional videos. I have been sewing curtains and furniture for years, you are teaching me some new techniques thank you ❤
What a wonderful giving person you are. Thank you so much for yet another wonderful pattern. This means so much to anyone who’s lost someone. Or just to make. Super cute!
I love him, I love him, I love him 😍. The front panel and the collar is just 💕. The face of the bear is just perfect - I'm in love 💓. The things you do are so beautiful and well thought out. You are truly an artist - thank you so much for sharing all your patterns and your talent with all of us. Denim🤔... YES 😍
I am in awe of your skill and kindness. I have never made a bear and only been sewing for less than a year. I could never ever achieve this but love it and one day may feel brave enough to try. What a lovely thing to do
Aww he IS perfect! I love the hearts on his feet 💖 Thank you for sharing your skills with us. You are very generous and give us great tips and tricks. I hope your husband enjoys having Brett in memory of his brother 💞
My grandfather passed away recently and I've really struggled with finding the right bear to embody him. I thought of my grandpa as soon as I saw your bear! I definitely was not planning on going as fancy as a jointed bear but I can't picture using any other pattern at this point! Anyway, my dad dropped off a tote of grandpas flannels today and I plan to start soon. I'll be making 11 bears total, wish me luck 😅 Thank you so much for the beautiful pattern and wonderful tutorial!
You do such amazing work. I’m so happy to have found your videos. I’m going to try this memory bear. I also made the cow pillow for my granddaughter. She loves it. Thank You so much for the free patterns. God bless you for sharing your experiences with all your sewing projects.❤
I downloaded the pattern a year ago, with the intention of making it for my granddaughter (37 yrs old) for Christmas. But, as life has it, it's now a year later and I'm going to hopefully get it done for her for this Christmas. I'm looking forward to the journey with your help (tutorial). Thank you.
I wish I had this pattern and info several years ago when my DIL wanted some bears from her fathers shirts. I never made them, but I might try again using your info. Thank you so much.
I just happened to see this today. Your bear is magnificent! I would love to try and make one in memory of my sister who passed this year. I have a beautiful floral dress of hers hanging in my closet that I know would be perfect. I’m going to practice on other fabric first. Thank you for this detailed and beautiful tutorial. You are a true artist.
Thank you much for sharing this amazing tutorial for free. Step by step process is so helpful. I lost my mother when I was very young to Cancer. I have been wanting to make a memory bear using some of her wedding dress to honour her. I can sew, but I wouldn't say I'm a polished sewer. So I will practice making a couple first before attempting to use her wedding dress ( very slippery fabric which scares me ). My mother was a wonderful sewer, so hopefully I can do her proud.
Just found your channel and I'm so in love with everything you stand for and do. Thank you for sharing this with us. I have purchased patterns for this but could never figure it out. The knowledge you share here is so valuable and is so appreciated. Thank you. Just thank you.
Your attention to detail is exquisite! I am a literal type of person, and your way of conducting this tutorial is exactly the way I wish everyone did tutorials!! Thank you so much!
I appreciate you so much. Thank you for teaching us . My sewing skills have improved across the board. I want to keep on because of your great instruction, and my projects come out so nice. Thanks a million.
Der hübscheste Bär der mir je untergekommen ist! Schwierig nur dass man Karostoffe schwer hier bekommen kann, ich werde auf die Suche gehen, danke für das Video. 👍👍💙💛
Thank you so much for this bear as he is just what I’ve been looking for. I lost my Dad and stepmother to covid just a year ago. My mother and my husbands parents have all passed over the last few years but I have items from each that my children and grandchildren remember and I will be using them to make memory bears for each of them and will include something from my husband and myself too. ❤️
I’m so sorry, such significant loved ones to lose. 😢 I hope creating memories this way will bring you some distraction and comfort. Sending warm hugs to you and yours 🥰🤗
Fantastic tutorial. A great many soft sculpture techniques are shown. One thing I might add is that I find it really helpful to pay attention to "how" the seam allowances "lay" while stuffing the head, especially the snout area. I finger press them to one side or open, flatten them with my fingers, pressing them against my other had, to make sure they lay flat and in the direction intended. They are held in place by stuffing.
Just going in to make my first bear after my aunt is getting in to her stride with her 3rd and 4th.We've had so many discussions on the making of these bears!
Thank you from my heart for this. I have been wanting to make Memory Bears in memory of my Dad, Mom, two Sisters, & my Brother. You’ve given me the courage to do just that! I’m going to watch your other videos, as you suggested, than watch this again. At that point I know I’ll be ready to take it slow & easy beginning my “Family of Memory Bears! Please send positive vibes & prayers my way for a fun & heartwarming adventure. You are such a beautiful spirit. Thank you for this and your encouragement.🤗💝🦩
I love your stuffed animals!! I give them to new babies or for first b'day gifts made from some item of clothing. I have seen a cute giraffe behind you but I've never seen a pattern or tutorial. Is there one? If so, where might I find it. I've got a God Son who loves giraffes. Thank you for sharing your wonderful patterns. ❤💕
Wow, I just had to pause and say a huge thank you very much! My son-in-law's grandfather passed away recently, and because my daughter knows i love to sew, she asked me to make a memory bear. I was so daunted by such an important task that I've been putting if off for a bit. As I was getting started on the project, I came across your video, and decided to use your pattern because I love the button down front, and I really wanted to do something like it. Your instruction is so, so helpful. I really enjoy how you explain every step at a basic level for sewers who have never done soft sculpture. I'm about 1/3 of the way in, and I wanted to come say how grateful I am that you are helping me feel good about taking this on. I've started with a bear in memory of my dad, using shirts that I brought home with me when he died a few years ago, and I'm starting to get excited to do this for my daughter and her family. So, when I finish my dad's i'll be able to start on hers and hopefully not make as many mistakes - lol! All my best to you!
Just want to give you a massive thanks, I started my bear not long after you posted this video but totally chickened out when I got to the head cause I convinced myself I didn't have the sewing skill for it. I finished him yesterday and absolutely love it. Thank you for your phenomenal tutorials couldn't do it without you ❤
Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern and tutorial. Thanks to you, I was able to make a beautiful gift for my mother, who will cherish it forever!
I have never been interested in this type of work before, but my step father died last week, and my niece showed my mother a memory bear her son had from his grandfather, and suddenly she had this great idea that I could make some bears for her and the youngest grand and great grandchildren. Sigh... How could I say "no"? After finding your videos, (and giving Amazon a chunk of money for supplies!) not only am I ready to start cutting up some clothes, but I feel confident you have given me the tools and practical advice I need to get this huge project done. Who knows, maybe I'll actually love it enough to use this as my retirement career, since real retirement is not an option for me. Thank you for being so thorough and sharing your wonderful talent with us.
@@payitforward9442 haha…. Well you now have hundreds of us aspiring to be as neat as you!. But I have now mastered stab back stitch and always doing overcast stitch now. Boy what a difference that makes before heading to the machine 😁😁😁
Great pattern and wonderful project. Love the memories' being saved in this way! Thank you so much. All the best. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. ❤ 😃👍
Oh I’m so glad to hear from you, I can’t believe I haven’t thought of this, My Eldest son and youngest daughter were both in service (Army) and I can use their uniforms! How exciting thank you so much for the inspiration! Stay safe my friend 🥰
Thank you very much, just found your channel. Love your bear and others. I will be making a memory bear for my late husband, if he was alive he would have wanted on of these! Your demonstration on how to make this and your pattern is fabulous, the best I have seen for a fabric bear. Stay safe and sending you much blessings. 🇬🇧💕
Thank you so much lisa, you are giving me courage to attempt to make 3 memory bears.I lost my eldest son 23 years ago to a motorbike accident, he was 29. I only have 1 jacket of his which i have treasured, so i have always been too afraid to cut it incase i accidentally destroyed it, but watching you make such a beautiful bear i am going to try to make 3 bears out of it ( 1 each for his brother and 2 sisters ) so that they have something to remember him by.
Hi Jackie, I’m so very sorry, I admit to having a little cry reading this, I can’t imagine your grief. We have 4 sons and two daughters, and all our boys ride Motorcycles, I wish they wouldn’t. I really hope this project brings you some peace and happy memories 🥰🤗
I have just completed my first ever memory bear following your pattern and method. I must say I'm delighted, it all came together perfectly. Thank you for clear instructions and generosity in sharing.
Thank you so much for this! I'm going to try and learn to sew so I can make this for my sister for Christmas with our grandparents old clothes. I've never sewn before so I hope I can get it down in time!
I’ve just downloaded your pattern - thank you. As a novice hobbyists, I’m looking forward to recreating this in old school uniform fabric, for a year 6 leaver. Thank you for the detailed video; it is going to help hugely. Have the best day xx
Thank you sooo much. Your pattern is amazing I lost my hubby last nov/25. I am thinking to make bear memory hug using some of his shirts. Thanks for sharing. You are very generous!! Merry Christmas to you and your family. All my Best wishes from Brazil !
This pattern is amazing. It is going to open up the options I can offer immensely. Thank you so much Lisa. It looks so much less fiddly than the pattern I was using. Going to make this very soon with my grandsons newborn baby grows. Xxx
So cute! In the past, I have made the bears from my granddaughters' clothes. One for them and one to keep for memories. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity. Love the expression on the bear's face.
I’ve never seen such thoroughly elaborate pattern and instructions , and all for FREE !!! So exact if you mess up it’s your fault. Thank you posting this bear just before Christmas! Thank you sooo much
Thank you for the lovely pattern for the memory bear. Im going to try make one using clothes that belonged to our son who was killed age 7yrs. Thanks also for the video with clear instructions ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your memory bear pattern. Mrs. Payitforward You are an excellent teacher. I look forward to making a memory bear in the future thanks to your tutorial. Your Memory bear is beautiful.
Hi Lisa. Your bears are truly beautiful. In this surreal new world I am creating to stay sane. I hope I can get this right. I have a bunch of gorgeous old curtains from my late mum in law. Her name was Florence so I think I’ll call them Flo bears. Will give this a bash. Best regards from South Africa 🇿🇦💫
Thank you so much for this tutorial and pattern. I have needed to make memory bears for the children of my friend who sadly passed away. I feel more confident tackling this now after watching. So so grateful to you
This is such a clever pattern! I'm glad I didn't give away my old shirts, that front panel with the collar is gorgeous 😍. For the moment bussy with my goat...but when I make this one I'll also call him Brett 💜 Thank you so much Lisa and Carl! 🙏💕
Lisa Thankyou so much for this wonderful bear pattern! We lost our beautiful niece to a house fire almost two years ago and I know my sister would love this memory bear! So Thankyou again I will have a little time to make it for her before the second anniversary. Gods Blessings to you for sharing this with us🧡

I’m enjoying the master classes and learning so much! The knowledge you share is amazing! Thank you for your generosity in sharing your wealth of knowledge! Take care! It’s crazy out there!
I so agree, it’s a crazy world out there, just stay home and create I say! I’m glad you’re enjoying Masterclass, next month’s project will be up soon! 🥰🤗

Hello Lisa, I am so Thankful for people like you. So kind and giving. My two sons lost their father to cancer recently. My sons were only 21 yrs. and 23yrs. of age at the time of his passing. I have a few shirts that I want to turn into bears for them. I am new to sewing, however your tutorial is very patient, and you explain things so well. My question before I even make the first cut, do I trim the all the pieces slightly larger than the pattern itself? And do you have any suggestions to someone who is new to this? I am making a "prototype bear" out of other fabric I have, before I even try to use their father's shirts. Thank you again for such an important tutorial! And may God Bless You.
Welcome! I’m so sorry for such a huge loss in your family😢 First of all, I include all seam allowances in my patterns so no need for trimming. Making a Sample bear first is a great idea, it will get you familiar with the techniques used. The construction is easier than you think because it is made in parts. Do make sure to interface your fabrics first for best results and easier handling. And remember I will be with you every step of the way! I hope this project will bring you some comfort. Warm hugs to you all. 🥰🤗
This is such a beautiful bear! Thank you so much for sharing him. With your expert instructions and video, I know I can make beautiful personalized bears myself.

I love him, I love him, I love him 😍. The front panel and the collar is just 💕. The face of the bear is just perfect - I'm in love 💓. The things you do are so beautiful and well thought out. You are truly an artist - thank you so much for sharing all your patterns and your talent with all of us. Denim🤔... YES 😍
Hi Ann-Britt! Thank you, I’m feeling like I might just make him up in denim just for the fun of it!🥰
I am in awe of your skill and kindness. I have never made a bear and only been sewing for less than a year. I could never ever achieve this but love it and one day may feel brave enough to try. What a lovely thing to do
Hi and Welcome! You can do this, absolutely, that’s why I do this , to show you step by step. I hope you will stay and create with me.🥰
Aww he IS perfect! I love the hearts on his feet 💖 Thank you for sharing your skills with us. You are very generous and give us great tips and tricks. I hope your husband enjoys having Brett in memory of his brother 💞
Thank you so much, I call my husband Mr. T !😂 I will keep little Brett bear by his bed 🥰❤️
Thank you. I lost my husband last year 12/22 before Christmas and I will use your pattern to make a memory bear. You are amazing❤ Blessings
You are so very welcome, I hope creating will bring you some peace and comfort🥰
This is the best memory bear i have ever seen, i love it x
Thank you so much!🥰
My grandfather passed away recently and I've really struggled with finding the right bear to embody him. I thought of my grandpa as soon as I saw your bear! I definitely was not planning on going as fancy as a jointed bear but I can't picture using any other pattern at this point! Anyway, my dad dropped off a tote of grandpas flannels today and I plan to start soon. I'll be making 11 bears total, wish me luck 😅
Thank you so much for the beautiful pattern and wonderful tutorial!
Hi Jessica! This will be a labour of love for you, I wish you well, I’m here to help of you need it!🥰
You do such amazing work. I’m so happy to have found your videos. I’m going to try this memory bear. I also made the cow pillow for my granddaughter. She loves it. Thank You so much for the free patterns. God bless you for sharing your experiences with all your sewing projects.❤
You are so very welcome Helen, I feel lucky to share with you all!🥰
I downloaded the pattern a year ago, with the intention of making it for my granddaughter (37 yrs old) for Christmas. But, as life has it, it's now a year later and I'm going to hopefully get it done for her for this Christmas. I'm looking forward to the journey with your help (tutorial). Thank you.
The journey is as important as the results Susan, Enjoy every moment!🥰
I am intrigued at your precision in making this memory bear. What a delight watching you.
Thank you, you are too kind!🥰
I wish I had this pattern and info several years ago when my DIL wanted some bears from her fathers shirts. I never made them, but I might try again using your info. Thank you so much.
I hope you do Karen, I’ll be with you every step of the way!🥰
I just happened to see this today.
A floral Bear would be a beautiful tribute❤️ I wish you well and I’m here to help if needed 🥰
I’m so happy to have helped! Stay with me step by step and we will have success together!🥰
Your attention to detail is exquisite! I am a literal type of person, and your way of conducting this tutorial is exactly the way I wish everyone did tutorials!! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful! 🥰
And he is perfect indeed Lisa!
Hi My friend, lovely to hear from you! I’m glad you think so!🥰
I appreciate you so much. Thank you for teaching us . My sewing skills have improved across the board. I want to keep on because of your great instruction, and my projects come out so nice. Thanks a million.
I love to hear this! Thank you Susan 🥰
This was so interesting to watch, I don't sew but love to watch people who can.
That's amazing I'm going to make some for my grandchildren in memory of their grandad . It's the best design I've ever seen. ❤
Thank you! Enjoy the journey!🥰
I've started my bear just cutting out all my pieces I'm making a denim one love this tutorial 💕
I have learnt so much watching (and rewatching) your videos. Thanks a million.
Thank you for the pattern for this amazing bear! It is really helpful to have to help with the grief process! I really thank you for this!!!!
My pleasure Ashley!🥰
Just going in to make my first bear after my aunt is getting in to her stride with her 3rd and 4th.We've had so many discussions on the making of these bears!
I love this! Hope you’re having fun🥰
This will be a lovely creative journey for you, Remember ask me for any help along the way. Thank you for PayingItForward to your family!🥰
This is so encouraging for me to hear Didi, I thank you for such lovely feedback. I hope I have converted you to soft sculpture sewing!🥰
Just want to give you a massive thanks, I started my bear not long after you posted this video but totally chickened out when I got to the head cause I convinced myself I didn't have the sewing skill for it. I finished him yesterday and absolutely love it. Thank you for your phenomenal tutorials couldn't do it without you ❤
I love to hear this thank you! I’m glad you persevered 🥰
You are so kind to share your pattern and tutorial and I thank you!
My pleasure!🥰
You make blanket stitch look so easy, I make it look a mess lol…..now this stitch I really need to practise more!
Stop it! It is easy once you have sewn it a Bazillion times!😂🥰

Thank you Debra, I hope this project brings you comfort, such a huge loss. Happy sewing!🥰

Fantastic as usual Lisa. Your advice and tips are wonderful. Many Thanks.
Hi Margaret, lovely to hear from you, have a wonderful week!🥰
Thank you! I've been wanting to make a memory bear.
My pleasure! Happy sewing!🥰
You are a true artist my woman, such talent. I’m going to definitely try to do this bear ❤
This is such a beautiful bear! Thank you so much for sharing him. With your expert instructions and video, I know I can make beautiful personalized bears myself.

You are always welcome Shelley, have a wonderful week!🥰
