Looking back on Danielson's entire career the transition from ROH to WWE is a completely different beast. Problem was Danielson was self destructive (look at his history of injuries) Miz did help him more than almost anyone because he was the safest worker in the WWE and one of the best mic workers in history. Never gets enough credit for what hes done but he does have a HOF worthy career.
I love Mike he has been so underrated during his career. Yes Daniel Bryan or Bryan Danielson is better in the ring. Mike is no slouch though and he is a better promo than Daniel.

Entertainers bring in ratings and crowds, work rate guys don't. It's fine to prefer one over the other, but history has shown that entertainers are the draws.

A good pro-wrestler will make their stuff look good without hurting themselves or their opponent. Too many of the supposed great matches espoused by the likes of Meltzer tend to carry a cost in the health of the people who take part in them.

For example the ideal wrestler in my opinion would be Jericho (despite his work now 😭) but he’s a great technician, can cut great promos, is entertaining, can play face or heel, has been a high flyer, a brawler, a grappler, a hardcore wrestler and even a comedy wrestler. But above everything else, very few can touch him in ring.
