I only discovered you today and I have to tell you, I think you are the best cooking person I have seen!! You give all the details I love, you are relaxed, funny, informative and make the whole process so simple. I have been baking for 60 years and you are a pleasure to watch.
This is very similar to a recipe I make for sweet potato soufflé. Once you try this version with the strudel topping, you’ll forget all about the marshmallows. Soooooo good!
looks yummy ... I've been so over the mashed, marshmallow souffle sweet tater casserole for years. Just a basic, yummy sweet potato with a bit of "yummy glitz" - that's what I want - and this dish is perfect. But like you said, "you do you" - and whatever you fix for the Feast, enjoy !!!!
I’m so doing it this way this year. I hate mashing the sweet potatoes. I do a streusel topping too, this makes my life so much easier! Thank you. God bless
Going to try and make this but I’m going to try putting in some apple as well. I love your approach to sharing a recipe- you made me feel confident I could make it, heh. Thank you for sharing! 💕
The Best! You do swt pot the best! That chipotle swt pot recipe you did last year was amazing too Im not a dog lover but you have the cutest dog in the entire world
I just found you on RUclips and I am in live with your recipes and your cooking area. I am diabetic and sweet potato is a great substitute for potatoes. I just have to watch any added sugar. Also, can you tell me the brand of your knife?
Looks yummy! I love the idea of sweet potato chunks instead of mashed. And the touch of maple syrup! I love baked sweet potatoes with maple syrup and cinnamon :-)
This casserole is fantastic!!! What I really love about it is that it isn’t overly sweet! There is a savory note to it and you can actually taste the sweet potatoes and not just sugar. I ordered purple sweet potatoes but when I peeled them they had white flesh. I was really disappointed but it was what I had so I used them and WOW! So good and like I said they were not just one note candy sweet. Even my husband who isn’t a sweet potato fan really liked this!! I would love to have my daughter try this ( she HATES sweet potatoes, I got food poisoning from a can when I was pregnant with her and she has never been able to eat them!) but I think she might be able to eat this with the white yams. Regardless, this is going to have a permanent spot on my holiday table.🍁🦃🥰
Caleb, thank you for this delicious recipe. I made it for the first time yesterday. I was looking for a sweet potato casserole with a chunky, non-mashed texture and there was your video! Actually, yours was the only recipe I found that used fresh sweet potatoes and didn't mash them up, and it sounded good. Turns out, it's as good as it sounds. Better, even. Delicious. Everybody loved it. Yum, yum, yum. Love your show and your recipes and your kitchen!
For 30 years, I have always made Sweet Potato Balls with a large marshmallow in the middle of the ball, then rolled in crushed cornflake crumbs and baked with a caramel sauce...But decided to change it up this year after seeing this recipe... Just put my pan of this recipe in the oven... it looks and smells delicious so far!. Hope my pecans don't burn as they were already quite dark after I roasted them in the oven for a bit too long but we shall see!
I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes. I have tried them several times and the only time I liked how they tasted was when they were mixed with regular mashed potatoes. That being said I would try this casserole. Taste buds change over time and you never know, I may like it.
Yummy! We just got back from the grocery store, no sweet potato 🍠 and no yams! I’m losing it right now! Thanksgiving isn’t the same if there’s no sweet potato pie! Off again tomorrow morning in search of.
Looks amazing! Have a fantastic Thanksgiving🦃We always have 2 sweet potato dishes (my mom has to have the standard with marshmallows), but this is replacing the mashed casserole this year 👍
From salvage time's potatoes were called yams, because Africans worked the land and due to their knowledge the west was introduced to yams the reason why yams then were called sweet potatoes was some had a sweet taste and in this period yams were white in colour which they still are, potatoes then were also sweet but more white in colour the colours within the sweet potatoes have been added due to farming and courty to courty. The main difference is yams and potatoes looked the same in side only one was more sweet the out side skin was also different in colour with sweet potatoes having a red colour not the ones we see to day has I have been told the farmers add colouring and they are much more softer but don't taste sweet at all. I must say the good old day's were food looked and taste liked food is no more, but I will definitely give this recipe a try but with my own twist 😋.
I just went for the recipe and see that you did not specified the quantities for each ingredient. Can you edit that post? You can add it to each picture. Please!!
I am not a fan of that overly sweet potato dish. I love the sweet potatoes but not with all that sugar on them. I feel like that’s more of a dessert this one that you shared isn’t as sweet. Are usually just put the potatoes in the oven and bake them and have them as a baked potato that’s my favorite way to eat them.
You are such an incredibly fun person to watch. I hope you enjoy your holiday season.
My grandmother would scoop out oranges to add to sweet potatoes & bake them seasoned in the orange halves. 🍊 so good!
I tried this for thanksgiving it was so yummy I cooked carrots with it as well! So delicious not overly sweet , now a staple in my thanksgiving ❤❤❤❤

Love your videos and you actually.
This looks so good, hooray for sweet potatoes!
Just added your casserole to my menu! TY, love my side dishes! Happy Thanksgiving!

I just made this today. WOW!!! I used slightly less maple syrup cause I ran out lol, but it came out great. Thank you so much!!

Love the water over the stove. Cool. 🙏
This is exactly what I was looking for - I can't wait to try it!
Very nice! I’m going to use brandy instead of cream. Can’t handle too much dairy but that recipe looks fantastic.
I'm adding this recipe to my Thanksgiving dinner 🍽 😋 Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
All your recipes are delicious!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is a different mix for sweet potato... Rosemary, thyme, sage, salt pepper, olive oil, roasted topped with feta and salted pistachio.
I would like that, thx
That sounds really great!!! I have feta cheese too!
This all sounds amazingly good!
Terrific & magical!
Looks amazing! Have a fantastic Thanksgiving🦃We always have 2 sweet potato dishes (my mom has to have the standard with marshmallows), but this is replacing the mashed casserole this year 👍

That’s it! We’re adopting you! 😂😂
Love the way you speak
I like that this is made with real sugar and not marshmallows which are made with corn syrup
Is the recipe showing the measurements of each ingredient available?
I just found the instructions on how long and the temperature to bake this 😂 I can’t wait to fix this dish
I've been looking for a sweet potato dish
yummy in my tummy!!!
xoxo randolph
Agree. Mashing sweet potatoes makes them gummy
Can something else be used in place of the almonds? For people qho are allergic to those and all nuts?
You could try rolled oats, pretzels, roasted pumpkin or sunflower seeds.
@@melodynakamura4028 thank you
I really want to eat over at your house! 👍👏
I mix yams and sweet potatoes… and add orange zest.
Man mine are hard to peel?
Abfab 👍🏼❤️
I just went for the recipe and see that you did not specified the quantities for each ingredient. Can you edit that post? You can add it to each picture. Please!!
Ok how can I add sour cream and pineapple to this recipe?
DELICIOUS!!!
Thank you! What a lovely recipe! I’m going to do it!

Like th I s at thanksgiving
I don't understand if it's a dessert or a garnish....
I’m not that much of a experienced cook. I need measurements and the temp and time in oven😊
Oh yes, hold the marshmallows.
Recipe
For yeast rolls
I like a little grated orange peel in the streusel.
