My former brother in law did this back in the day. For him, it was a passion. He also drag raced his cars. Miss him and his high skills in engine building. These people are getting harder to find now.❤
@, he was an exceptional person, cared about people, exceptional business person and always helped people out. I miss him terribly. You just don’t find many people like that in today’s world. You are kind to speak of him as you do. Not a better engine builder in this state has ever been. Only one other person I know that may have been any competition and I knew him in high school. He is still alive. Good Joes are what these kind are often called.
Masterfully done! A joy to watch this technician ply his skill. I can only hope his employer recognizes his contribution and value him with a nice paycheck. Well done dude!
2:44 seen a kid once put the engine mount upside down at that stage and cracked the block using a rattle gun upon installation to save time 😂 Expensive mistake for him and his boss 😊 When Paid by the hr No need to rush 😅

Each component, and each assembly step has multiple failure modes. Each Subsystem has imperfect performance aspects, each system has erroneous design parameters. Each engine has holes in its capability envelop ... and yet it is truly a thing of beauty. A testament to man's ambition. Kudos.

no , just an understanding of how it works , engine building is really basic stuff if you know how it works and have a pair of hands and an eye for details.
Its a normal work for a professional carmechanic like him , me and thousands of others who learned her profession oder years . After 2 of the same engines he is able to mount the third with closed eyes...
As a Master Mechanic for well over 45 years, I was curious as to why flywheel was not resurfaced, and why were clearances not checked on all rod and main bearings prior to assembly, piston ring end gaps as well? Either these steps were not done, or possibly not shown due to time constraints on video, but rest assured they are absolutely necessary when rebuilding any engine. Also wondering why a nice coat or two of high temperature paint couldn't have been applied to block etc.Sevetal more issues but I dont want to make this a rant just a professional observation. Overall good video, but numerous key steps missed in my opinion.
After watching this, now I want to go to a trade school and learn this kind of mechanics. Not just diesel, but gas as well. I was told there is good money in this kind of work.
there is only good money in this work if you own the repair shop and do the work. if you work for somebody else you will make about as much as a grocery store flunky
Depends heavily on where you live and your skill level, in larger cities it’s not uncommon to earn 100k plus as an automotive technician. Not the easiest job by any means, but if you’re willing to work hard, you can do pretty well
German engineering with an ace Russian mechanic sounds like a good combo. You demonstrate nice high quality work and we can see that you have a clean organized shop. I am actually more curious to see a rebuild of a Russian made diesel engine of similar horsepower and size. I would wonder if the injection system on a Russian diesel is computerized or mechanical.
This ain't a car on.your driveway. Did you.see the size.of the bolts? I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing considering they LITERALLY make the engines.

Собирать из новых чистых деталей в оборудованном гараже - сплошное удовольствие 😊
I was a transit operator for 37 years and our mechanics worked on Man engines and they did a great job.
Somehow it's mesmerizing to watch a professional doing a perfect job!
For machines to run smoothly, the parts must be perfect.
hello
Great to see a professional at work. I was a Mercedes Benz tech for twenty years. Nice to see someone on youtube who is a real expert. Great job
You can tell he's rebuilt many of these engines. Very nice work.

@, he died of a combination of liver failure and complications of rheumatoid arthritis. It is sad and hard to see him gone. He’s not suffering now.

а что такого то? он что то изобрел? проявил смекалку? Эта работа - для робота! Делай одно и тоже по инструкции и всё
Unbelievable! Over 1.5 million kilometers and still kicking out 430 horsepower? This video is pure gold for any gearhead!

That's probably what happens on the job less than 10% of the time. The other 90% is scratching one's ass thinking about what the next step is.
Here’s YOUR MAN CARD. The bearer of this card is authorized 1 free Beer and a lap dance of his choice.
What a feeling of accomplishment when you crank that Man up ! We had 2 in the yacht I worked on. 🍻
Nothing like the feeling of excitement putting all those new boxed parts together. 😁
But it doesn’t look anything like the engine in the thumbnail. 😕
It's a truck engine. The thumbnail is probably from a boat engine build or ai generated.
Click bait. 😂
It's called clickbait

I have never seen such large torque wrenches.

It has to be perfect, otherwise it’s a catastrophy, there’s nothing in between. So he’s doing his job like millions of others.
Great Job! How much is the weight of a truck motor?
I should think so too, the guy is a fitter and he's doing his job of fitting it together as a fitter, fitters fit😂😂it's not hard
