I'm like you I try and get the matching needle minder for my Gecko kits and I'm going to make myself a quilted banner and will place them on that when I have finished them, that way they can be displayed in my craft room.
I’m a bit behind with Flosstube, but really enjoyed your unboxing Jo. Those colours took me right back to when I first opened my kit - so gorgeous! I hope you enjoy stitching it. Hope your exam went well and that you can enjoy a break now! Look forward to your next one!
Thanks Kelly! They're so bright aren't they?! I just looked at them for ages lol. Thank you also for your good luck exam wishes - all went as well as I could do, but I don't find out my results for another three weeks eeeeeek!!!! I am certainly enjoying the increased stitching time, that's for sure :D
Discovered your videos while I impatiently wait for my own Gecko rouge kit to be dispatched! Would love to see how you stitch these as I’m a newby to full coverage patterns.
Hey Aimee!! Thank you so much for watching. I 100% understand the pain of waiting for a GR kit!! 😂 What kind of queries do you have? I tend to use hoops at the moment, leave the floss on the thread cards, cross country and starting top left of the fabric. I have started Love by Dany Lizeth in the middle though as it doesn't have a background, but it's not for me, so I have worked my way across to the top left! 😂 😂 Ask me anything ☺️🙂🙂🙂
I have just seen the Gecko lion on your channel! Absolutely beautiful! Great fabric choice too. They have soooooooo many colours! Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment. Jo x
Hi, I'm so sorry I missed this! Thank you for your lovely comment. A bit of a spolier for the next one - I started Bee!! How's the Bee going for you? :D
Bee is one of my favourites too and can't wait to get started! I have seen the Fables one before, it's so pretty - I love the little animal with the helmet on at the left of the owl! I stitch with a hoop - always have done! I tried a Q-snap a while ago, but found it too bulky to hold with my left hand, as I use my left hand fingers on the back to guide my stitching, so I couldn't reach across enough with the Q-snap in my hand also! I do have a lapstand that I use sometimes, but if I'm just starting out (so it's quite light in weight still) or if it's a smaller project, I will just hold the hoop with my left hand. I really want a scroll frame/small lap scroll frame, but there are so many out there, I am overwhelmed! And some seem rather expensive to buy before trying!! See you at the next one! Take care. J x
Hey Kitty! That was my exact thought when I first saw the Geckos about a year ago now. I had never had a kit before and was convinced that I would be able to kit something like that up for cheaper. However, the floss you buy is the right amount (plus extra) for the pattern, and when I actually kit things up myself, I am rubbish at looking at the floss usage, and so I always over order lol. For the Meeting on the Turrets Stairs piece in my latest video I had 48 brand new skeins unused lol. Buying the kit saves that nonsense (that's just me being stupid though!) and also these patterns are mainly only licenced to GR, and I wanted this one enough to go for the kit. It's an investment, absolutely, however this will being me hours and months of joy (and I don't have to do anything except stitch!). GR also do a layaway scheme, where you can spread the cost over a few months which I am thinking about for a future one which is super massive!! If you go for it, let me know! X
@@BelushiStitches Most of the time I don’t kit things up: just stitching from my master boxes. Always have spare skeins on hand.... I really love that Bee so much that I’m kinda bowing over to the buying part 😂 I know it will definitely be worth the money. I’m also wondering with the brexit if there will be clearance costs in Austria for packages from the uk. Then it will be even more expensive so I’m really in a split: to buy or not to buy???? Drives me nuts though because I really, really, really want to have that one (on top of all the HAED charts and tons of kits waiting to be stitched) If I buy it, I’ll tell you!
@@kittyvanpeer9382 I totally understand! You do have to consider the extra with the taxes and customs from some places. If I'm honest, if I love something that much, I just go for it, as otherwise I will agonise over it for weeks. And I'm so scared that it will be discontinued and I will kick myself. I'm quite impulsive with cross stitch lol, so that's good that you are considering this one carefully. Have you seen it finished? I watched Morgan from Honey Bee Stitcher and Kelly from Animal Instinct, saw both their finishes and went straight over and bought it! Happy stitching, whatever you are working on! 😊😊😁😁🙂🙂
@@BelushiStitches Normally I’m totally impulsive when it comes to my addiction for cross stitch 😋 Maybe I jump straight in. I think I can’t resist buying it very much longer 😂😂😂 Have a nice day and happy stitching
Hello, I'm so new to this can u do a tutorial on Pattern Keeper and it's purpose. I haven't cross stitch in years and just been exploring the printed which is a game changer. Can u also demonstrate how to put patterns like you did in its own folder. Thanks in advance. Love your accent.
Hi Sheri, thank you so much for watching and for your comment - huge apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Oooh, I am by no means an expert on Pattern Keeper, and in fact I have found out most of what I know by watching others here on RUclips! I would suggest popping Pattern Keeper Tutorial in the search bar and a number of videos (that would be much better than mine) pop up. They are great all round info and specific detailed videos. Pattern Keeper themselves have a RUclips channel also! I hope this is helpful. If you need any more info from me, email me your email address and I will send some tutorial links to you that I think would be helpful. Jo x ps thank you for my accent appreciation!
Would it be unethical to identify the colors yourself so you can rebuy the thread and restitch it if you wanted too? Just don't do it for resale or giveaway.
Hi Lakota! I guess it all depends on what you feel is the right thing to do! I do know that some people ID the colours after they've stitched it to save the floss. I haven't got that far with any yet, so I haven't had this dilemma! x
Hi Francesca! I totally understand your opinion, and I also had the same view a few years before I eventually went for one. I think what changed my mind was stitching a HAED and I accidentally ended up with 48 spare skeins of DMC that I hadn't used! I thought maybe as well I like the convenience of the kit and the fact that I guess they are licensed and the only way to stitch some of these designs. However, they are an investment for sure and not for everyone, I completely agree. It's all about what's right for you and what you want to put into a hobby, whatever it is. Hope you are well. Jo x
