I have always been fascinated with bobbin lace! Not sure why it is running through my RUclips feed all of a sudden, but I am NOT mad about! Beautiful work and thank you for explaining this part of the process.
I thought the leather or whatever was to keep things clean, so this information was informative, thank you. I really appreciate seeing this process also informative and great to see. It really helps to see it done, thank you again. I enjoy reading comments but you taking the time to answer people is so fantastic of you to take the time to do. I wanted you to know it's appreciated❣
I find it useful in many ways to see how you not only move your pattern but also how your board is set up and wrapped for use! If I may ask a question, could a thick yarn or string be used let's say to make a top that would go over a swim suit? I am curious too if making these long patterns how do you put them together or can you side by side to make a bigger fabric? Thank you for sharing!
I'd like to know more about your pillow! I made my own when i started making lace, a flat 'mushroom' style one, an infinity roller, and in the end, a big old piece if polystyrene packaging for a larger piece i worked on! Haven't done any lace for a long time now, but i can't bear to get rid of my gear as it was so hard to get, here in New Zealand, and many of my bobbins were made especially for me
Oh wow! Sounds like you were really into making lace for a time. 😃 You can see more about my Galician bolster pillow here: Curious about my Galician bobbin lace pillow? 👀 #bobbinlace #lace #fiberart #diy ruclips.net/user/shortsyM1DMNeL4m4?feature=share
I have never tried this craft so I don’t know what I'm talking about but wouldn’t it be easier if you had a smaller cylindrical shaped pillow that spins? That way you would wrap your design around it and by spinning the pillow you would always be working at the same spot, removing the pins above the last few rows off course. Also, maybe some kind of a comp like ruler thing could help with the bobbins not tangling when traveling. Just thinking out-loud. I just watched your videos for beginners and I'm thinking about maybe giving it a go.🙂
Hi there! What you’re describing is known as an ‘infinity pillow.’ 😊 I have one of those too, but this video is to show people who don’t own an infinity pillow how to move their projects on a different kind of pillow.
Would it be possible to see how you have your laminate piece affixed to your pillow? A brief explanation would also work 😊. It looked as though you were tying it on...is the cord/string laced through holes put into the laminate..like lacing up a shoe 👟?
This runner shape looks like it would be a lot simpler to work in a Saxon style rolle wich would be rurned continuously (housed in a bakest or on a book rest) I didn't know what styles were available to me but started with a book explaining some of the different traditions. Ps. I have been doing some amount of shuttle tatting because that is a lot easier to just bunch into my pocket
I've just started watching bobbin lace makers. Someone put their pattern on a roll so that they could twist it and it would repeat for as long as possible. They lined it up to make sure it all matched though first. What is better, doing that or moving then like you did?
Neither is ‘better.’ 😊 It’s 💯 personal preference and access to different kinds of pillows. I also have an ‘infinity’ pillow, like you described. But I wanted to create a tutorial video showing how to move your pattern if you don’t have an infinity pillow. 😄
@@GaliciaBee oh wow! Thank you🩷 This is definitely going to help me get some sleep. İ love it so much and please don’t take it as disrespecting your art. The things you make are GORGEOUS but the sound is just so satisfying to listen to.😅

You are so welcome! Thank you for being here! 🤗
This is the video I’ve wanted for years, being practical I learn better when I see things being done. Thank you so very much 😊

I always wondered about the leather/laminate piece! Thank you!
Interesting, isn't it? I waited about a year before I got mine because I didn't feel confident to go that fast right away! lol
Can we get a 5-10mins version of this! It’s so good! ❤
Or even longer…? 😄 ruclips.net/p/PLwIL61It9jiGP3HL4oO2uGPYWepPugYm0&si=zBUpzDmBUIIEr_EO
Heel goed uitgelegd Sarah, zo doen we het in België ook!❤

You can absolutely make lace out of thicker thread! 😊
There is a technique for sewing together lace pieces! I will try to find a video to post!
@@GaliciaBee Great! I will be looking forwards to it!
I was mainly attracted to your shorts from the asmr it gave me but damn, its really incredible what you do.
this is so beautiful,
Thank you. 🥰
Love watching this

@@GaliciaBeeah, thank you for the link
This is quite impressive.
Good job 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I was wondering how you moved your piece. Thanks for showing how easy it is to do. ❤️
Glad it was helpful! ❤️
Is the work that tight that it holds its shape (mostly) when you remove it, or do you lightly spray some kind of starch on it prior to removal?
No need to spray this one with a stiffener! 😊 It will keep its shape bc of the way it’s woven together.
@@GaliciaBee great to know.
Wow m good and amazing work.iliked very much
Thank you so much 😀
I hope you don't mind me asking, what are you making?
A lace scarf

The ties are sewn onto either side of the laminate piece and I just tie the ties together in the back. 😊 Does that make sense?
@GaliciaBee yes it does. Thank you 😊
I want to learn how to do this!
You can do it! 🙌 Check out my beginner tutorials playlist! ruclips.net/p/PLwIL61It9jiGNcLp88TuWvvq5lLbHSVOT&si=pixdZNvXUyAz_Ngh
Is that what those wood things are called? Bobbins? If so, how do you usually need to make something like this?
Yup! 😊 The wooden pieces are called bobbins. The number needed depends on the width of the piece. This piece uses 80 bobbins.
Your bobbin set on Etsy is sold out, do you plan to restock? I really like your set 😭
It will be back in stock at the end of next week! 😄
