    Hi Jess, thanks for the video. Couldnt comment still on stitch along so popping here. I found you as searching for UK stitchers mainly as wanting more full coverage rather than sampler styles that seem popular in the U.S. We went to Orlando for our 20th and we ate at The Hard rock cafe and loved it big rock fans tho. When it comes to Haed, I think kitting yourself is the way to go and I love kitting up. Currently looking at doing my first which will be a Supersize max colour😍

      That's so strange, I've definitely turned the comments back on, thank you for letting me know. I thought the same thing about samplers being popular in the U.S. They're pretty but most are not really my style haha. We actually have hard rock down as an option! We nearly decided to get married there, but went for a beach at one of the hotels instead. Oooh I'd love to see how that turns out! do you have a cross-stitch instagram? I know it's a bit daft since I have huge kits but the thought of a supersized max colour HAED intimidates the life out of me! Enjoy every stitch, I'm sure it will look absolutely gorgeous!

    As you have a sewing machine and if you are not confident enough to use the zigzag stitch then just machine a couple of straight rows, may not be a perfect solution but much quicker than by hand. I am stitching a huge HAED max colours and not sure if I will live long enough to ever finish it.

    • @CrossStitchingSmiles

      That's great advice, thank you so much! The HAED Max colours are so intimidating, well done for taking the plunge and doing one!

    A few awesome full coverage designers are artecy and the cross stitch studio for pdfs. Charting creations is in Canada and does pdfd or kits and has the rights to kit some of the other designer patterns. Paine free crafts in the UK do amazing kits. Well worth a look.

    Thank you for another great video. I love your real-ness. If you are still answering questions I have two for you. 1st, When/how did you get into stitching? 2nd, What do you do with the excess fabric when you are stitching your bigger kits?

    I am assuming you don’t have a sewing machine because there is a blanket stitch or zigzag stitch you could use to sew you edges of projects more quickly. By the way l love your videos your voice is so pleasant to listen to❤️.

      haha thank you! I do have a sewing machine but I'm really not very experienced so wouldn't like to risk messing up my fabric - I'll have a play around and do It on future projects though! 🥰

    Artecy does great patterns. Paine Free Crafts has both patterns and kits. Same for Charting Creations. Unconventional X Stitch has both patterns and kits. These are all great companies, IMHO

    I'm just starting my first SAL! Like you Ive been wanting to do one but was waiting to find just the right one. I'm working on "That Which Does Not Kill Us" by Urban Stitches, which is a victorian poisonous plants blackwork piece! We've just got the frame right now, it officially starts on February 4th!

    I got an haed kit, it took 4 months. It says nothing on the site about the time wait. You buy it then it says it will be 90 days. I actually contacted them after 90 days and they were like, oh no, thats 90 working days. I even asked to cancel and was told no, that they had already started putting together the kit...yet it still took a month to receive it. So, I definitely say no to the haed kit, it really wasn't worth it and honestly I worry about having enough thread for it in the end...

    • @CrossStitchingSmiles
      @CrossStitchingSmiles  2 года назад +1

      Oh wow, that's crazy! I'm so sorry that you've had that experience - I can't believe it doesn't say anything on the site, that's just awful! Fingers crossed you do have enough thread, if you don't maybe just contact them to complain, as they really should give you plenty. Thank you for taking the time to let me know your experience

    I see you're doing blanket stitch around the edge of your fabric, does it help to stop the fabric from fraying?

  • @karenkent4406
    @karenkent4406 2 года назад +1

    Do you have access to someone with a sewing machine? I just use a zigzag zag stitch around the edge of my HAEDs and they are BAPs! It is so much quicker than hand sewing the edges.

    • @CrossStitchingSmiles
      @CrossStitchingSmiles  2 года назад +1

      I do have a sewing machine actually, however I haven't had enough experience to feel confident using it on my projects. I'll have to practice and use it in the future!

    When working on your projects, do you have little goals every month. Say 5000 stitches on this project, and 4500 on this one, for the month

    • @CrossStitchingSmiles
      @CrossStitchingSmiles  2 года назад

      I don’t have a monthly goal, but I try and stitch at least 200 every day. I’ve just made up a WIPGO board so hopefully that gives me more of a structure in terms of monthly goals
