Nikki: "Why don't people listen to kids?"
Me: "Because people have forgotten that they are kids who just want to be heard."
They're too busy having the power to be heard to listen to those who haven't yet the power to be heard.
      That's why.
(One thing I couldn't stand as a child is the way I was treated by adults, as if I wasn't yet a legitimate human being because I hadn't yet reached some imaginary threshold that they themselves made up in their adulthood.
Now, I am the adult, as the child, and I say that you were always full of it.
Somehow, deep down, I always knew that you were making it all up.
Now, I am the proof that you did, because there are no answers here in adulthood.
Now that I am here, I know that you were lying the whole time.
      They raised me in deception...
      They fed me with lies...
      Now...
      It's my time to shine.
Enjoy the cemetery, my parents who are also children...
This is my world now, and I'm handing it down to my own children with better opportunities for understanding than you ever dreamed of offering to me.)

Rex was the Commander of The 501st. The Clone Unit that served with Anakin and Ashoka. He was a new character in The Clone Wars cartoon. He and Ashoka were at the Seige of Mandolore at the same time as Revenge of The Sith, which is the storyline created to tell why neither is in the movie. Obi-wans counterpart to Rex is Commander Cody who we see called by name in ROTS when he shoots at Obi-Wan with a canon shortly after giving him back his lightsaber when Order 66 is called for. Rex is in Rebels, and is said at the end of Rebels to be a white haired, bearded commando we see with Han, Luke, and Leia on Endor.

One thing I noticed was Ahsoka's "attitude" upon returning. She smiled, she seemed more at peace with herself. I think she blamed herself over Anakin's fate, she (in her mind) abandoned him and she felt guilty. This entire "lesson" was to show her that no she wasn't responsible for his decisions ,he was, he was the teacher, he failed to resist the call of the dark side. And this allowed her to forgive herself and remove that guilt blocking her from that. To prove that she wasn't going to succumb to the lure of the dark side.

I really love the parallels to Luke in ROTJ, when Luke told Vader, I won’t fight you, here it’s Ahsoka saying the same thing and Anakin responding with I heard that before. Also, when Luke got the upper hand and instead of finishing off Vader he threw away the light saber, Ahsoka did the same thing.

Pretty sure that's what Anakin meant when he said "I've heard that before." Which, to me, means that this IS Anakin - post RotJ, and not just in Ahsoka's mind. I mean, Luke could have told her that but that feels like something that makes more sense if it was actually Anakin and genuinely was completing her training by teaching her to let go of her fear of turning into him, and like how Vader told Obi Wan that his turn wasn't his fault it was helping her let go of her guilt.

She quite literally grew up with me. I grew up right alongside her while her story has been told. This episode made me feel seen as a fan. This really puts into context how young Ahsoka really was during the Clone Wars. I mean, I knew she was 14 when she became Anakin's apprentice but...wow, she was young. No wonder this stuff was getting in the way of her development, she was literally raised as a child soldier. As far as The World Between Worlds goes, I think it can easily be interpreted as either "it was all in her mind as she was dying," or Anakin pulled her there, then sent her back into the water when he was done teaching her. Either way seems correct to me and so it doesn't really matter.

The world between worlds is not strictly defined yet. Everytime we've gone there its never truely been said if this is real or its all in your head. But like Dumbledore said to Harry. "Is this any less real?" It is a place between time and space, but some could also say so is your mind. Whether there are truly there, or this was all in her head. I believe is purposefully left vague, so it is open to interpretation. I tend to see it as both, but depending on what you need it to be. For Ezra and Ashoka in Rebels, it was a physical place. Here maybe less so, but "Does that make it any less real?"

Seeing Ahsoka finally get the closure and acceptance she needed to move past the legacy of Anakin was so phenomenal. Her demeanor this whole series and even in Mandalorian refusing to train Grogu spoke to how much Anakin's turning affected her. Her fear of what happened to Anakin and what that meant for her legacy has driven her, not her desire to save Ezra or her care for her friends. This was really exemplified in her transformation after speaking to Anakin, her joy and peace in every moment felt so beautiful to see. My thoughts on the scene with Ahsoka and Anakin was that the point of the lesson is that Ahsoka needed to stop second huessing her path and decisions. I saw someone else talk about this and i think i agree. Ahsoka has been doubting herself since she left the Jedi and doubting where she belonged and restraining from getting too involved and in a way that is her failure. Anakins actions were not always the best and he made mistakes too, but he also made a choice and stuck with it. Even while having regrets he still saw it through to the end. He had been quite proactive where Ahsoka has been more reactive or reserved and o think the point he was putting on her is that she needed to make a choice and commit to it and not constently doubt or withdraw from those choices.

That Anakin and Ashoka interactions can be interpreted as Ashoka actually in the world between worlds being taught the lesson she needs from her master who is light and dark and back to light, but, also, it can be interpreted as primal instinct of any intelligent being who is trying to survive through working through subconsious mind through her memories .(which were all actual events from clone wars) Dave is amazing!!!

What if Anakin has now become something like The Father on Mortis since his death, him being the chosen one could mean that he is more than just a "normal" force ghost at this point and could likely mean he could have access to the world between worlds. Maybe he pulled a part of Ahsoka into there to finish her training so it would and wouldn't be in her head. After seeing Ahsoka having a moment of catharsis with her master, and letting go of her guilt and pain to more fully embrace the Light Side, Rosario Dawson now truly has become the Ahsoka we remember from Clone Wars!
I loved how this episode showed the more of the fact that Ahsoka was sadly both a Jedi AND a child soldier. What’s more is that while while the Jedi were taught to not form attachments to people, she and her master clearly cared for not just their men but their friends and family. And while Anakin failed and fell to the Dark Side because he couldn’t let go of those he loved, Ahsoka succeeded and not only learned to let go and move on, she has now risen and has now become tied with Luke Skywalker for me as the greatest Jedi of life time.
This is also easily the best performance Hayden has ever given as Anakin, he actually felt more like Anakin from the Clone Wars than the movies. I honestly never thought I would see LIVE ACTION scenes of Clone Wars, or even Hayden in Anakin’s Clone Wars armor!

Episode really drove home how young Anakin and especially Ashoka were during the Clone Wars. She was 14 during her first mission and Anakin 19. They had several years of just trauma.
When she tells Anakin she won’t fight him and he replied “I’ve heard that before”, was a reference to Luke. His lesson was reminding her that he taught her never to give up, but that she isn’t him and won’t make the same mistakes he did by joining the darkside. Hence you see her go from dark clothing to light when she comes to. He also reminds her that she came from a Jedi line of Anakin, Obi, Qui Gon, Dooku, and Yoda. Jedi that challenged the status quo but we’re strong in their convictions.
As far as the flashbacks they were actual live versions of the animated show. First one was her first mission. Last one was her fighting on Mandalore after leaving the Jedi order and helping the 601st before Order 66. Her attachment to the clones basically are her family. She spent 3 years fighting with them. So much so that the Battle for Mandalore the 501st pint their helmets orange and white in honor of Ashoka leading them again.

There is a concept in fanfic, "Suitless Vader", where, for whatever plot point the fic has, Anakin doesn't get burned and injured. This episode? made than canon, even if it was a WBW near-death vision.

My feels - I have not watched "The Clone Wars", but for the last few months I have been deep-diving into the fanfic fandom and while I was aware that Clone wars existed, it was not really my Star Wars (I am an OT girl, I was old enough to understand movies to see RotJ in cinemas the first time), but I feel my recent attention to CW content has given me an outline of how awesome the series was, and I have watched various clip vids here on YT, so being able to see it in live action is still very much a happy thing, and I undetsand how the relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka is such a SW mainstay now, so some really good scenes of them together LA is a treat that makes me happy.
I am wondering what the effect this will have on fanfic will be. I already know one person on my fanfic discord group (it's home to a circle of writers whose works I read) was very "Live Action Suitless Vader!".

To tell a whole story you need to know all of the pieces. Yes I would love a scene between Ashoka and Sabine when things were good, or even to of seen a flash back to when Sabine probably blew up at Ashoka for not letting her go to her family. Imagine that, Ashoka tells her to stay, and complete her training, convinces Sabine not to go the way of Luke, and Luke's worst nightmare in Sabine comes true. Because she wasn't there, she couldn't even have a chance to save her family. So she is distraught, she is angry, she is hurt and upset at Ashoka, because she can't handle all of this pain. You know Ashoka is feeling a bit of guilt in not letting Sabine go, but also knowing had she, Sabine would be dead. Most likely.
However, all of the previous episodes have been laying the foundation, and giving us hints at things. Mainly that Ashoka has been depressed, guilt ridden, and diminished. Now she has faced all of that, and of her greatest defeat, she will rise and become the Jedi she was always meant to be.
After a line people I think will skip over is when Ashoka suggests that Jacen go onto her ship, and he is like "i've seen a starship before.' Ashoka leans down. "A Jedi's starship?" Remember, for a very long time now Ashoka has renounced the Jedi, and being one. However, all her life's journey has led her to being A JEDI. Clone Wars, Rebels, the Ashoka Novel, which is a great read, all of this hasn't taken her away from being a Jedi as much as she may have wanted to, but has taught her to be one of the Greatest of the Jedi.
In EU, in particularly the Old Republic, the Force itself has been as much of a teacher to some Jedi, if not more than an actual Jedi Master could have been.
Its funny when you laugh at it, saying we just needed patience to see the whole arc, but that is exactly what was needed. We in todays age, feel so much ownership and want different things from Star Wars, that we've forgotten that we are the audience. And when someone that truly gets it like Dave Filoni, and John Favereau, that we need to sit back and let them tell us the whole story. Because despite many of our ages. We are acting like impatient children, and wanting to know the ending without seeing the Journey that gets us there. This doesn't excuse things that disney has done, at all. But Dave Filoni has not let us down. In my opinion. Even the "filler" episodes of Clone Wars, and Rebels still added to the over all affect that led us to love both Series as whole.

The first flashback took place during the Battle of Ryloth, which was covered on the _Clone Wars_ show, although that specific scene wasn't. You can see a couple of Twi'leks talking with Rex and Anakin during the scene. The second one was the final arc of _The Clone Wars,_ during the beginning of the Invasion of Mandalore most likely. So both battles were in the show, but not those exact scenes. What I find interesting is Anakin finally obtained the power to save people he cared about from dying. And the line,
“You’re never too old to learn Snips.”
Anakin learning that the Jedi Order’a too old policy was flawed. And him hearing that before was a nice call back to when Luke said he won’t fight him in Episode 6.

I only watched the clone wars 3 years ago during quarantine and the moment i saw General Anakin Skywalker is his iconic armor and short hair well it blew away both last weeks reveal and the Luke reveal for me. This was the moment for me (Well that seeing Sabine in live action)

Best thing of star wars since Episode 3 (haven't seen clone wars YET), almost made me tear up since I grew up with the prequels and seeing Hayden as Anakin brought me straight back to my childhood. 11/10, peak tv.

Amazing episode! Full body chills! Young Ahsoka is played by the same actress who played young Gamora ❤

21:29 it’s funny when I first saw this scene one other scene popped in my head from Episode 3 when Yoda told Obi-Wan to not look at the security recordings that all he’d find is hurt. They did do an awesome job with young Ahsoka. She’s the same actress that played young Gamora in Infinity Wars and she also played in the new Barbie movie.

I pictured Ahsoka talking to the starwhales like Dory in Finding Nemo. 😂😂

One of my favourite Star Wars episodes ever, it’s very good. So far this show as a whole has been amazing too.

Rex was the commanding officer of the clones under Anakin and Ahsoka. He was Anakin's second in command until Ahsoka became his padawan. At they point, she technically out ranked him. But I'm reality he was their friend and their equal. He help raise/train Ahsoka almost as much as Anakin did. And he lived loved them both and they him.

Sabine not destroying the map reminded me of Luke in Empire Strikes Back when he leaves his training with Yoda to save Leia and Han. Yoda and Ghost Obi-Wan told him not to, but he did anyway.
    "It rhymes".

"There's something about the water." I think that the ocean Was the portal to the WBW. The Loth Wolves took the ghost crew to the other side of Lothal by going through the ground into a starscape that looked like the WBW. Places like Lothal, Seatos, or even maybe Dagoba are probably incredibly tuned to the cosmic force. The jedi temple portal in Rebels could have been an easier access point for the average force user
