To request a warranty replacement for your UConnect Battery Door email hpservice@aptiv.com. In your email include the following information: Subject: Warranty Request for Defective Battery Door on UConnect Headphones Body of email include the following: 1. Tell them you own UConnect headphones with a faulty battery door and you were told to email to receive a replacement door 2. Model year of the vehicle 3. Full VIN of the vehicle 4. Your name, mailing address and email address
Andrew, thank you so much for the wonderful video of demonstrating where and how to change the battery door. i have owned my tc and have not even used the system until a long drive back in the backseat with foot in cast. so I really have not a clue how this part of the van works. i did notice that the head set look little different, all the foam covers do not fit or been torn. when you pried off the ear pad was that just the foam or another part that the ear pad fits on?
Just an FYI, I contacted the email address listed in the pinned comment in early August 2023, and less than 2 weeks later after some minor correspondence with the warranty dept I received 4 doors in the mail from Troy, Michigan to Calgary, Alberta, Canada even though I only needed 2. I guess they figure it'll happen again as the doors look identical to the originals and would appear to have the same design and material flaws from a basic observation. I might see what I can do to either reinforce the door, or to lessen the spring tension as the batteries themselves do exert serious pressure on the doors. Way more than is needed to achieve an electronic connection. Cheers and thanks Andrew.
Thank you so much for this. I paid $45 bucks to buy replacement headphones on eBay last time. Came to youtube when the second one broke. Can’t thank you enough.
Thank you kindly Andrew!! My daughter dropped one of my headphones by accident and broke the door. Followed your instructions for the replacement and just as easily as you showed us in your video I was able to replace the cover! My package arrived from FedEx, was given ample notification time and it took about 2-3 weeks. Amazing, and they absolutely do stand by their product. I own a 2019 Dodge Caravan. Getting prepped for my next road trip with the kids entertained, and finally my wife and I can catch up on our True Crime podcasts!!!!
Thanks so much for your help! I purchased a brand new vehicle a year ago. When I had to change the batteries on my UConnect headphones the battery clasp broke off. I sent an email with the verbiage you provided...it was fast and easy!
Your video was great! I didnt know who to contact for this and it worked perfectly. Recieved 3 battery door replacements. Took about 2-3 weeks total. Thank you.
Andrew, you are the best for this RUclips video! You gave all the info that was needed to get the replacement parts (great detail). The company sent me three free replacement doors in about 2 weeks for my 2015 Chrysler Town and Country. Wow, good support considering it’s seven years old! I had no idea on how to obtain replacement parts other than buying new headphones. Your clear, concise video made the door replacement a breeze! Thank you!
I followed this in June and they sent me two replacement doors and an extra set of headphones. Well, the second battery door broke today. not sure if it's the second original pair that broke or if it was the replaced door that broke. So it looks like these doors only last between 6 and 12 months. My boys take pretty good care of these. The spring inside is just too strong for the door and the plastic snaps. Looks exactly like what you have in your video. Question though, has anyone had to do the warranty claim more than once? I just got my pacifica last year and already two breaks. I'm now out of spare doors, so after the next one breaks, I'll need to do another warranty claim.
That’s odd I can see it on my end. Here it is again. Sorry about that. To request a warranty replacement for your UConnect Battery Door email hpservice@aptiv.com. thanks for showing how to do this. We've had the same problem with our headphones and just got the replacement parts in the mail. Something that I am trying to before I replace the door is to try and cut off some of the tension spring that pushes the battery up against the door. If you can fix that issue, the door shouldn't break. I don't want to have to keep replacing the battery door every few months. Have you tried to look at the batter spring at all? Any thoughts from anyone else?
This video looks to be very informative, except it seems that when you contact hpservice, in the email you get back, it states you have to be original vehicle owner. I purchased my vehicle certified pre-owned, only being a year old and I don't believe they will cover mine. I requested if I could purchase them, but have not heard anything back. I did provide all the requested info when I sent email back.
I know you wrote this months ago but I just also bought a certified preowned and one pair came broken and the second pair just broke. Did you hear anything back by chance? Should I even bother emailing?
I did contact them and explained my situation. They normally only cover the original owner, but they did work with me and sent 4 replacement battery doors. You may be able to work with them and get the parts you needs. Treat people how you want to be treated and it may come back in return. Worth a try.

I believe this is only valid for US/Canada...not international.

I got a message saying the email address doesn't work. Now what? I checked the address carefully

Thank you for sharing. We had two headsets for our 2020 Pacifica and both doors broke almost consecutively. I'm emailing now.

Great video! FIxed my broken two pair in under 10 minutes! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I almost bought the 3D printed bolt on covers on eBay and then I found this! You’re fantastic and appreciated!
Thank you!!! I have replaced 2 headsets at $100 each because of these doors, thankfully one was under warrenty
Thank you for posting this video. This is exactly what happened to mine.
Wonderful! I just finished fixing one of the headphones. Thank you!
Thank you for the video. Do they ship to Canada as well and also to out of warranty vehicles?

Worked great! Thank you for the information.
Thank you! Glad i googled this and found your YOu tube!
Great video, thank you.
How do I request new battery doors? I don't see the comment that says how to get them.

No problem! I thought about cutting the spring and was a little nervous I’d take too much off. Let me know how it goes.
I saw this on Etsy. I have bought one. It looks a bit clunky but it might work. www.etsy.com/listing/715809012/u-connect-headphone-battery-cover-fix
Sadly tent foam broke. I’m not sure they stand behind it when it’s still a crappy battery cover and breaks again and now my foam is Broke again
Thanks for the help!
When you email them do they send a return email acknowledging that they received your email and are sending out replacement part?
They replied to me in about a week.
It took about 3 weeks of back and forth, but now they are sending me 2 replacement doors in the mail.

I believe it was about 3 weeks.
