    And the main reason you need that POWERED USB Hub.. is because your phone (or other tablet device) will not power the audio interface by itself.. Good video

      Could it function if we connect the charging port of the USB hub directly to a power outlet rather than to the apple USB 3 camera adapter?

    • @MikeSheasheaDtree
      @MikeSheasheaDtree Год назад +4

      INSTEAD of the power hub i connected my lightning cable to the camera adapter AND the wall charger, the USB -A also goes into the camera adapter. It works great with BIAS FX 2 or Garage band. (Bias fx 2 was cheaper on iphone than desktop). But i like recording with AUDACITY, so i will need a power HUB to take my output to my PC.

    • @reoscorpio
      @reoscorpio Год назад +1

      @@MikeSheasheaDtree i use the powered USB Hub because along with adding power, i can also connect a Keyboard controller, or an old Akai MPC drum pad.. (or any other USB device) to play the sounds

    Omg I didn’t even think this was possible to do!!!! I use band lab and I wished and wished I could do a set up like this on my phone because I was nervous about setting it all up on my Mac book and I’m really comfortable using band lab on my iPhone. I used the Apple headphones with the mic for recording. I can’t believe I can actually do this!!! Thank you so much I can’t wait!!!

    Would this configuration be suitable for interfacing the Scarlet Solo 3rd Generation with my iPhone for vocal recordings on BandLab? 👇
    1. Focusrite Scarlett Solo (3rd Gen)
    • Your audio interface for connecting microphones and instruments to your computer or iPhone.
    2. USB-C to USB-A Cable
    • The cable included with the Scarlett Solo, used to connect the interface to a USB-A port on your Tendak hub or directly to your computer.
    3. Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter
    • This adapter allows you to connect USB devices (like the Scarlett Solo via the Tendak hub) to your iPhone while also enabling charging.
    4. Tendak USB Hub
    • A powered USB hub with multiple USB-A ports that provides additional power to the Scarlett Solo and allows you to connect it to your iPhone through the Apple adapter.
    5. Shure Beta 58A Vocal Microphone
    • A dynamic microphone for capturing vocals, which connects to the Scarlett Solo using an XLR cable.
    6. Amazon Basics XLR Male to Female Microphone Cable
    • The cable used to connect your Shure Beta 58A microphone to the Scarlett Solo.
    7. OneOdio Wired Over Ear Headphones
    • Closed-back headphones for monitoring sound while recording, connected to the headphone output of the Scarlett Solo.

      No, because the audio interface will be getting power from the USB hub which is also getting power from the wall. If you didn’t have the USB hub, then your audio interface would be bus-powered meaning that it would power off of whatever device it’s plugged into as well as receive and send data through the USB cable.

    Maybe one of you brilliant people can help me. I am trying to run my Scarlett 2i4 into an iPhone XR. I have the camera adapter. I have the interface plugged into the camera adapter and the adapter also plugged into the wall. The issue is that the green USB light isn’t coming on and the 48V phantom light just keeps flashing on and off. I assume this means that the wall power isn’t strong enough to power the interface. I’ve tried using both the standard iPhone block and the iPad block, and neither seem to work to make the green light come on. I would try to use a USB hub like many have suggested, but I don’t know if that would work either if connecting it directly to the wall isn’t working. Maybe there’s something with how much power a powered USB hub provides that makes it work better than simply connecting it to the wall. All I’m trying to do is use my Shure PGA27 mic to capture audio for Instagram. Any input would be appreciated!

    • @The_Rev_Room
      @The_Rev_Room  9 месяцев назад

      I would try a USB Hub if that’s the case. Also know that older iPhone’s can’t standalone power as good as newer iPhones do. If that doesn’t work I would test a different microphone or interface. Also, make sure you have the authentic Apple USB3 Camera Adapter. Please consider subscribing!
