GW is a publicly traded company so their goal is only money. Same with Amazon.
The 40K series is not for 40k fans. It will be an attempt by both companies to make as much cash as possible.
Cavil has more fans than 40K I’m sure. So if Amazon and GW can attract them they won’t care about the 40K fanbase.

@@craigjones7343 The fact that you need to ask this means you honestly don't have a clue. Fallout has plenty of diversity in male and female, as well as various colors of skin and sexuality.
Warhammer is not that. Warhammer has planets that exist solely to be mined dry, with populations that only exist to work, pray, eat a bit and prepare for the next day, if they don't get handed a shovel and a pistol and get forced to fight on the front lines of some war or another.
People don't have time to tell their superior that they are highly sensitive or have different political views. They get shot in the fucking head for keeping up the line, and no one bats an eye. That's Warhammer. There is only war in that future.
What Amazon wants to see if Wokehammer, which is why they are changing things around.

This is why the only GW product I play is Battlefleet Gothic. Its a dead game but has a loyal following, so GW shenanigans can't screw it up.

I remember saying when I first heard about this, the only way this works is if Henry has the final say over what happens. Amazon is the Platform it appears on, and the wallet providing backing, everything else needs to be under Henry's stamp of approval, where if he's not happy he can walk away and they get nothing because HE would have the rights to the series, not Amazon. That's the only way it's going to come to any manner of worthwhile fruition is if Amazon sits back, writes the checks and Lets him make the thing. It doesn't sound like the Rights to the property were arranged that way though? If his walking away leaves it to Amazon then I don't imagine it could be. Which is a pity because that means this show is pretty much doomed before it's gotten past the start line.

The most they’ll say is, they don’t like a particular sculpt or complain about a price hike. And the bigger channels won’t even to go there.
As soon as IP's are getting into the hobby, the big money starts to get into the hobby, and with them comes the influx of those who are not into games, but into IP's and the drama follows.

I fucking hate this Nyrion guy for that. Watched one of his rings of power videos way back when that was released and in that AT LEAST it was based on some kind of facts, even if it still was just him shitting his pants about made up "wokeism". I also didn't really like RoP but it wasn't bad because of some kind of "wokeism", whatever that means. Not a single person I've come across could believably explain to me what that word means. It's a culture war perpetuated solely by the alt-right.

i don't see anything wrong with female custodies, they've had old female space marine models. the lore is what the fans make it, the lore is open for that. My Rogue Trader wears cowboy hats and has aztec space lizards and dwarves in his entourage.
The lore is what the fans make it, yes, not what's forced on us. A random guy somewhere turning Sisters of Battle into Brothers of Battle is perfectly fine, it's their hobby, but it doesn't need to be added to the actual lore.
The all-male part of marines had been a part of the lore for so long, and is so ingrained, that suddently changing that also changes the thing we've loved. Some will be ok with such changes, other will no longer recognize what the fell in love with. The primaris marines were similar moment; suddenly marines were rolling from a production line instead of being incredibly hard to recruit and create.
To me female marines take away from the idea that marines are the best of the best. The best physical specimen of humankind will always be men, no exceptions. Yes there are women out there stronger then me personally, but I'd also never be marine. It's extremely exclusive. "But it's a setting with monsters, who cares about realism". It's also a setting with gravity, mortality, and other basic concepts. You can't just ignore everything from the real world, you have to pick and choose which exceptions exist in your fantasy world. With no rules, there's no drama possible.
The only counterargument I can think of, as I don't know biology in depth, might be that girls and boys in their pre-teens a phyisically mostly identical, so with hormones and such you might get the same outcome regardless of gender. But if you go that route, would the girl marines look anything like women, or just become men/trans (aside from the dong)?
Anyway, quite a rant.

Given what Amazon did to Rings of Power, I’d say the rumors have some merit.
@@tablesaltgames That's a bit silly. Firstly "what Amazon did" is contested and up for debate. A lot of people thought it was either ok or good. And secondly, it is unlikely that any of the same people from RoP will be involved in Warhammer stuff. Amazon is funding it, not writing scripts.

All that BlackRock DEI money and meddling. Sororitas, Inquisition, and Imperial Guard are already excellent and interesting avenues for female representation.
Knights as well. You want noble lines? You want Custodes but with less models and even simpler? Want to be an absolute princess/queen on the board? Play Knights!
Blackrock was one of their first investors. And the addition came from the CUSTODES CODEX. Why would they focus on guard or sisters of battle in the Custodes codex?
@@guyperson7487 Because there are plenty of avenues for good female representation in those other factions without having to change the lore of Custodes (or potentially Space Marines). That’s one of the topics this video is discussing, hence the relevance.

Also, I’d encourage you to watch the numerous videos out there analyzing and discussing how the lore WAS changed, as it has been represented as “sons” and “brotherhood” for 30 years until the new codex. But if you like female Custodes in your army, by all means model them that way, as it’s your army. I could certainly understand cool hobby opportunities it can offer.
Here is the thing that the people opposing female Adeptus Custodes don't understand.
For purposes of this issue:
The lore doesn't matter.
Your nostalgia doesn't matter.
Existing female representation doesn't matter.
There is only one thing that matters and when you understand it, you understand that female Custodes and Space Marines must exist.
It is this; Custodes and Space Marines must be inclusive because they are described as being the best of the best of the human race. Whats more, Space Marines are the face of 40K.
If you say women can't be a part of the best of the best, than you are saying women are inherently inferior to men. Thats the shameful 40 year old message they wrote into their lore. That message is not only untrue; it is abhorrent to any fair minded person.
40K has existed with this implicit statement as part of it's IP so far because it is not even a blip on the average person's radar.
But things are changing. Games Workshop and Warhammer 40k are entering larger spheres. They must fix this problem in the lore if they are going to be accepted in those spheres.
Games workshop knows this.
Amazon knows this.
Female Custodes are here.

This holds true for BIPOC & LGBTQ+ representation as well. You can't tell people they are lesser because they aren't white males. It's not true and it's not right.
Who cares about any of this when Battlespace is a far better game than warhammer anyway!
