The simplicity of One Page Rules is the major draw for me. It allows for play without having to memorize all the special rules and interactions for both armies during play. It also reduces the amount of rules referencing and has alternating activations. The simpler rules also help with my gaming group as I can host a game and players are able to pick it up easily.

Warhammer is playing rules, OPR is playing a game. It’s nice to focus your energy on strategy and not on looking up 1000 obscure rules.

I've played Grimdark Future with my 40k models several times, and can say it's an amazing game and maybe the most well balanced sci fi miniature game I've ever seen.

Great decision! These miniature agnostic games are great. There are so many miniatures out in the world, it's so much fun building your own armies, repurposing armies and old projects into something you can use for this or other games. No official models, rules to buy to use your specific models, constant changes to spur you to buy more without finishing your last project. You can always use your army now! It's really fun to build new armies just for these rules, and the models they sell for the game are really cool as well if you need more minis!

Well, your channel earned my Subscription today. OPR, Conan, and especially Battlespace. Also, that two ship of Mustangs hanging on your wall really pushed it over the edge!

Enjoyed several solo games of OPR GDFF on a small table. Been getting use out of my Space Orcs, Space and Chaos Marines. Great army builder tool; makes it really easy to bash together a list.

I've had these rules printed out and not played for such a long time that they have since updated the rules, so I'll have to redo them! Have you looked at The Doomed yet? I've been enjoying that immensely as a solo skirmish player. Even got some pvp games in with a friend recently.

I love it because everything is balanced and there isnt the restrictions of list building. Victory seems more based on your decisions then just listbuilding meta. For being a “beer and pretzels” game it doesnt feel mindless especially using the advanced rules that allow for special actions like overwatch and hunker down etc

You are making a good call. Welcome to the world of OPR! GDF at the army level is a blast too and Warfleets is some great space battle action. Firefight is also awesome for scratching the Necromunda itch. When you add the STL drops and awesome models to print this is some of the best value in gaming. Again, welcome to the world of OPR.

My friends, much like myself, are husbands and dads with full time jobs, and it’s difficult to pay hundreds of dollars for a 4 hour game we MAY get to play together once every 6 weeks.
OPR makes it SO much more approachable for us. $30 on 10 models from a third party shop somewhere, and a bit of rules review for 45 minutes of fun and exciting gameplay. Makes us busy dads happy.

Having played 40k since 3rd ed, I'm glad to see more shifting from that to Agnostic games like OPR. Between rising costs, worse-than-ever-rule-creep and the constant need to keep up with a changing META, I think this was inevitable.

Howdy o7 I recently grabbed the Jackals and the prints are GORGEOUS. However just a friendly warning; be careful if/when you print them because the legs, wings, and little dishes on the backpacks all break very easily at least when I pulled them. Not anything a bit of glue couldn't fix but worth noting.

Jackals is a great faction to get into, the scrapers of the galaxy. Take other alien tech and make it there own. Starhost is a great well rounded faction with a wide range of play styles to bring to the table and who doesn't love a gator with a rocket launcher on its back.

MAN! Not to mention that buying a decent 8K 3D Printer and accessories IS WAY CHEAPER! Then buying a single Warhammer army. AND you can print all these other cool mini ranges! For collectibles, DnD, YOU NAME IT! AND THEN PRINT INFINITE AMOUNTS OF THEM UNTIL MATTER IN THE UNIVERSE RUNS OUT!

Glad you’re coming to the light side - and yes you don’t need a printer. I don’t - I get off Etsy. They clean it real well and I still cheaper than GW. Also - it can be Competetive with the tournament rules etc - it’s more about choosing your units wisely rather than list building ( gw games ).

Coming from warhammer I'm doing a ork and blood battle brother armies.
However, because I play D&D I love the option of the fantasy game where I can have my halfling warlock who sided with goblins and a mindflayer and make a skirmish army with it!
Definitely picking up the vampire lords when it comes out and I want to pick up the blessed sisters when I get paid!

I love OPR minis are really good others are amazing! I love them been with them since 2020 and its always growing big time hell the rules alone are just brilliant and even if you just wanted the rules buy them you get the full rules to add extra things to games make them more complex if you wish nad pick and choose from many options. Their army builder is amazing as well people can make and upload their own armies and the community rates them its amazing! very easy to make your own army, also many STL creators have supported it with rules with their own armies and others created rules for it. Well worth it.

So would you compare Fire Fight with Killteam or would you say, it is different on its own?
What I liked about KIllteam v1, was the individual progress in the campaign, that the models got XP and you could upgrade their equipment.
That is also the reason, why i really don't like Killteam v2 at all.

Honestly I house rule 2 things. I think that 4 round limit is fine for some things but I ignore it for most things other than take and hold scenarios. I also dislike that there are no route and rally mechanics so I also house rule that.

"Grimdark" is nothing GW specific; it is used as a genre for games, art, miniatures etc. Maybe, the base is GW, but it has become something of its own. GW has no rights on it. Everyone who not only is into 40k should know this.
And if you want to know a real grimdark setting, try Turnip28. Or give at least OPR a try.

@@jasongarner4923 the thumbnail has in big bolt text "don't need warhammer anymore"
all it does is harm the game imo, as it just has a salty community vibe, just all salty ex warhammer players instead of peeps being hyped about their game. while im sure a lot of peeps are just hyped for the game makes it only more sad to me that almost all yt content need to reference warhammer (especially negatively) instead of just focusing on the game
when i look at turnip28, i just see peeps having fun and not focusing more that peeps know they are better than warhammer cuz they know it's a negative mentality and everyone will prefer other games. turnip looks really fun to try out and join the broader community as they don't give off the same negative vibe as opr
