Same here! This also makes me want to pick back up my flute and violin. I can also add writing my book series to the list. Honestly, when I listen to a good musical song, and a good animatic like this one, it gets my blood pumping and makes me want to pick back up the fine arts. That's where my passions and inspiration have always been.

“Evil” is everything you’ve wanted to do but didn’t because you don’t want to get arrested. And the idea of actually doing it is subconsciously marvelous. As for the boring explanation, females are attracted to dominance.
If you want evil to be unattractive, read the novel cause my gosh Hyde was the embodiment of unappealing. I was genuinely shook from reading those 86 pages.

Dr.jeckyll is the true gothic horror doctor not Frankenstein. Jekyll takes notes, responsibility for his actions, experiments on himself and is an actual doctor.

I love the way that you drew Hyde spinning around and kinda just feeling himself in the last part of the song before he grabbed his things and left, like he was just so fiercely enamored with the very fact that he was "alive".
Bro the transformation scene in this version is like an actual birth; the labor pains, the shortness of breath, the way Jekyll collapses on the ground from the physical change and then Hyde rises up from the floor, even the slight "euphoria" at the beginning could be the oxytocin you get from labor. This is so intense and creepy and gruesome and it's great
Edit: especially because Hyde was trapped inside Jekyll's body for a long time and after this painful process is now "free"

You're onto something. Plus, the persona of Hyde is quite literally "born" in this scene.
You know, the fact that his outward appearance barely changes here kind of adds a new dimension to the "Who is this creature that I see....?" bit. It's like, instead of his body changing, his Victorian inhibitions and sensibilities are dropped and he discovers his own sexual appeal.
Before the potion fully takes effect, his reflection in the mirror is even very faded, as if he can barely see himself until he becomes Hyde.
GEEZ this series is good!!

I love how the song's mood takes so many twists and turns.
In the beginning, while Henry expresses his feelings, the song is sad and slow, and sort of sounds as if setting up a climax.
But as Henry drowns out his fears with happiness and confidence, the song turns hopeful and beautiful.
The song starts to turn dark again once Henry drinks the liquid and writes about the effects. Henry tries to keep up his confidence as the song turns upbeat once again.
However, once the liquid sets in, it starts to get intense, and sounds as if something bad is about to happen.
Once Hyde takes over completely, the song sounds evil and dark, and hints at how things will end up going forward.
Weirdly, I really LOVE Jekyll's screams.
And we've found Hyde.

Whenever I hear/see anyone besides Anthony Warlow attempt the scream, all I can hear is the “quack” meme because it’s that underwhelming. This voice haunted my childhood, and I guess it will haunt my adulthood, too.

In the book Hyde was younger than Jekyll because Jekyll had spend so little time being evil. It was a noticable difference with Jekyll being about 50 and Hyde appearing to be in his 20s.

This was so amazing. I loved how you connected the events of the previous videos by showing the Red Rat tickets. Also the way you showed the pain of the transformation & Hyde's "euphoria" at realising he has a body were all so powerful and expressive. Can't wait to see what you do next :-D

@@laurenaspreyart That was one of my favorite lines in the book; taking the pun opportunity that they kept on missing in the musical. I actually decided to use/reference that line in a script I wrote inspired by this story.

Okay, I love your all animatioms and drawing style buuuut I have to admit that it makes me glad to see another J&H animation! And tbis one was....I mean, was so expressive! The emotions, the movements, and it's the first version so far for me that portraits Hyde not just as a savage beast or a miserable looking man but as an imponent character, that last frames reflected just how he must've felt, free, joyful of having a physical body, someone you would be impressed with his presence and yet you would run out of his sight like there's no tomorrow, so yeah 😅 great job, my respects :D

...I know I’m too deep into the Fate version of this character when I think that the eyes of both Jekyll and Hyde here remind me of Jekyll and Hyde as they appear in Fate/Grand Order.
