Hi Luke, I'm really sad as my lovely husband passed away on the 1st February, it was such a shock. Watching you and Iwans videos takes my mind off things for a little while. You are both like my friends. Thanks xxxx
It’s so sorry Marilyn, please be kind and take care of yourself at this very difficult time. I agree, I call them my friends too and am very grateful to them.
Oh Marilyn, I am sending you so much love and strength. I can’t imagine how heartbreaking that must be❤
Sending love ❤️
@@LukeCatleugh thanks Luke xxx
Sending ❤love to you. X
My Sundays with Luke are now a thing it’s so charming to watch
Trust me there is no such thing as a too big a shed as time passes you will find all kinds of uses for having a good size shed.
I have to agree, once you get a lawnmower, gardening tools etc. then in winter you will need to store the patio furniture and other items in there, a decent sized shed will be a godsend.
You can reuse that wardrobe in your new shed for shelving, utilise! 👍👍👍👍
Great idea 😊
Loved this video, Luke! When you said about filling the holes in the wardrobe, ikea sell little plastic plugs for around £2 for 100 - may be cleaner and easier than filling each hole!
They do small plugs for the holes instead of using filler on the ikea units and it means you can switch up the heights when you need to
Totally with you, Luke. I thrive in the Spring/Summer too, I feel alive! Bring on the Spring and Summer, hopefully both will arrive! x
If you enjoyed Kane and Abel, try the prodigal daughter, which is the follow-up book.
I love waking up on a Sunday morning the first thing I think is to make a cuppa tea and watch your latest upload it's a vibe 😂❤ so glad the running is going well and that the charity are pleased 😊
Got my cuppa tea ready to watch this - love a trip to IKEA one of my favourite shops ❤
Have you looked at the Toilet with the Hand Basin on top? Absolutely Brilliant for a very small space.
💕🏴
I love my Ikea Pax wardrobes - mine are over 20 years old(!) and still going strong. I love that I can still buy interior fixings and things for them, to change them up occasionally. I also think its great that you're keeping your old wardrobe going for a bit longer - showing others that you don't need to have everything brand new all at once. Make do and mend is a great lesson to learn and a great way to help your money go further!
Years ago my House had a call shed in the outhouse so I remove the old latch door and put a door on that matched the rest in my home I skimmed the walls, I made chunky shelves. I now have 2 small chest freezers in this now cupboard with floating chunky shelves which house all my 12ish small appliances.
I revamped this myself.
I love it when you two are together! I am never quite sure of the spelling of Ewan?
All my clothes wardrobe at home are ikea pax. Sliding doors in the bedrooms and no doors on a spare small room I use for out of season clothes, coats, jackets, shoes, and other random things. I made the designs myself with the 3D program they have. You choose shelves, drawers, hanging bars, and it generates a list of every item you need to buy. I had them delivered, but we built it ourselves. The tricky part was hanging the sliding doors. It was a little bit difficult as it was a big wardrobe. When we bought my son's one, we decided to hire the assembly as well as the delivery.
I'm glad Maggie will soon have a new bed. She also deserves new things in her new home.
As always I love to see videos of you and Mr Carrington. Although you visit the same places, your videos are different, according to your own style. Thank you for taking us along. Tomorrow I'll be visiting Ikea and I'll have a look at the front door mat you have.
HI luke the fish jug in homesense my mother had one when i was growing up 50+ years ago she used it as vase x
Hi Luke! I'm with you of feeling all over the place. I'm also in the same boat right now since I've injured my right lower back & hip recently. It's been quite difficult to get things done or even think straight from the pain. 😔 Always love a good shopping vlog with you & Mr. C though so that lifts my mood. I haven't been to Ikea in a while and it's nice to see what they have that's new. I'm sure the Pax wardrobes will look lovely once their in. Thanks for taking us along as always! Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊❄🌬
I love these sort of vlogs Luke 😊 it was a vlog I could have scripted of my own life and thoughts 😊.
I know you’re not buying your shed yet but believe me get the biggest one you have space and budget for you won’t regret it. Think of it as a self storage unit that you don’t have to pay monthly for 😂 those shelving units shouldn’t rust because they look like they’re galvanised steel but the screws they are put together with might. Just something to think about when you’re putting them together maybe give them a coating of WD40.
Me and the hubby were just talking about Ikea not being as cheap as they used to be. We’ve had an ikea kitchen for about 17 years now and because we went for a classic style it hasn’t dated at all and there’s not one door or drawer that has to have been tightened or fix.
I love world of books for my reading fix but I still like audible for when I’m on the move.
I don’t want to sound like a mam here but I’m pleased you’ve cut back on your alcohol consumption because it’s a very slippery slop to get get off especially when you don’t think you’re on that slippery slop. Looking forward to your next vlog already 😊 xx
My daughter has pax wardrobe 8 years and still good as new!
Loving the shopping trip. Ewan’s kitchen is spot on, so we will be around.😂 Zara is a girl after my own heart, with biscuits requirements. Love the book review. 🇮🇪👍
It was a lovely calming video luke x
When I got my airfryer, I was rearranging to fit it in . Most people I know have one, just have it sitting on the hob, and iv seen on some utube channels they also have it sitting on the hop.
Great to see you Luke enjoyed your book review.👍
Happy days !! 💜💜💜✨✨✨. Great video Luke.
An idea Luke, I used curtains to cover dining chairs, as it worked out cheaper and the thickness of the curtains made it quite durable. You may even pick up curtains from carboot/charity shops in a nice neutral colourway x
That’s a great idea!
😄 You & Iwan's banter is too funny "meatballs"
We're expecting an IKEA, in the back country 🙄... can't wait!
@Zara, my hack has always been to tap the metal lid, of jars that have been boiled on, on a hard surface until you hear the pop or air releases. I always use our marbel counter top or tiled floor. Never fails.
Traitors, will give the Oz one a go. I loved UK S2. But could'nt finish UK S1.
Thanks Luke 😊
Thanks Luke 😊 enjoyed this Sunday vlog 🥰 your home is so cozy love all the new additions too ♥️
Hope you’ve both had a lovely weekend 😘
I loved Swimming in the Dark too. The Sally Rooney one sounds great too.
When pain waked you up.Nothing better than watching Luke and Euen.....Great vlog xxx
Great Vlog. Lots of things to view and think about. My Sunday treat. X
I love to see that you are loving your new house and putting all your personal touches on it. All the best.
Love those blue and white plaid ceramic planters, and I agree it’d be lovely for herbs. Great vlog Luke!
Nice tea and kettle set from your Family. They look very sturdy.
Happy Sunday Luke, Zara and Mr C!! Double Luke and Iwan today and double IKEA makes me a very happy girl🥳😃 you're inspiring me to get back to reading and I have loads of books to get to! Loved the mock tail book and I would really enjoy a video of you making some from it.
Good morning Luke. Popped to our local IKEA Friday night for Billy Bookcase. We love it in IKEA. Could spend a fortune. Your daffs are gorgeous. My fave flower 💛 xxx
Luke pax wardrobes are brilliant i have nearly floor to ceiling just a tiny gap at the top four doubles one single in my room combination of rails and shelves they hold all clothes and bedding etc etc i have light oak fronts have had them for 18 years or so well worth buying x
ps i have re configured them into different layout to hold different things over the years x
Thanks for the new read options. I'm off to meet my UK family in the Caribbean so lots of 📚 to take. Only you Luke fall in 💕 with kettle and toaster. Your vlog's are so full of love of your life and new home.
Luke I always look forward to your videos and honestly you always leave me with a smile on my face and make my day 🤩 Zara is adorable
Hi luke great vlog love having a nosey around the shops wit u & Iwan some great bits in IKEA sadly we don't have one near me otherwise I'd be in there 4 days😂 love the new kettle & toaster very stylish, ur plants r blooming in the window, have a great weekend lots of love to u zara & Maggie 💞💞💞
It was great to see you going round Ikea have'nt been to one in years. I want to get a cover for my sofa so will be going at next opportunity 😊
Longer days adds up to getting more done. I love the longer days too. 👍👍👍👍
Love IKEA @Homebargims, great vlog Luke. ❤❤
Hey Luke, I loved your new toaster and kettle so much so that I ordered them for myself, they arrived today and are bloody gorgeous ❤
Loved the Verona vlog❤
The food looks good. Nice vlog.
Great video luke thank you ❤️💜🐶
Luke recommending Winchester as a day trip if you haven't been. Lots of nice shops and have a look at the Arc😊
Hi Luke - love you guys shopping together
Oh I need a new mat too - pick me one up please lol have a beautiful week. X x
Loved watching the two of you checking out Ikea. One thing to be wary of with Ikea appliances is how efficient they are and how costly to run. I did a Ikea kitchen reno in an apartment I rent out and to be honest while the doors/drawers are fine the tenant continually complains about the Electricity costs which can only be put down to the Ikea Fridge/Dishwasher/Oven/Cooktop. As you love to cook I would consider better branded appliances if you do change the kitchen one day. Those Pax wardrobes are brilliant though!
Great to see the boys shopping
Great Vlog, I've just ordered my copy of "The Housemaid Book", thanks Luke.
Hi Luke - do NOT get a free standing bath. They are almost impossible to clean behind, and grime does accumulate there. I had a gorgeous, original claw foot bath and it was so impractical I got a built in after 10 years of struggle! Lol
Another enjoyable Vlog by you Luke. I think you need to have a coffee lol either before you go out or in a travel cup on the way to pick up Mr Carrrington.
That bath you showed us in Ikea was gorgeous, I just wish my bathroom was big enough to have one.
I am loving the Ikea Chiafron pot. Maybe not enough to get me to go to Ikea for that alone, but enough to get me to put it in the cart when I am next there! Loving their storage, especially the PAX wardrobes which are fabulous! Thank you for the video!
Hi Luke and Zara. Wonderful trip to IKEA and time spent with Iwan. Love when you two get together. Will be happy to see Maggie back home as she is missed.❤❤❤
Luke be careful what you put in pots with no holes in the bottom, overwatering can kill your plants and sour the soil. The daffodils are lovely. I have some blooming in my garden area in pots out in front of my condo fence. They just brighten the day so much.
Have a fab week you guys. Loved Zara as she spoke about her food and not liking it, sometimes it happens that way… Hope she found something to eat instead. Love to you both. ❤❤❤
You have both done so well x
I buy mostly second hand items . Everything else i buy on sale. My home is modern, antique and bo-ho style. Luv your blogs. Have a great coming week.🇨🇦❤️
Random but the sichaun restaurant next to Greenwich ikea is my absolute fav! Highly recommend. X
Looks like a trip into Ikea is in order. I thrive in the summer too as a July baby. So glad the days are becoming longer here in Seattle. Cant wait for Spring and to plant some bulbs and get on with outdoor home projects. I wish we had a Home Bargains here..they have great stuff. And yes please make drinks from the book
I’ve had my Dualit toaster for 18 years and it’s still going strong. I went on their web sit a few years ago and purchased the sandwich cages and the bun warmer. Heather
Great vlog, love a trip to IKEA, none near to me so watching you shop fulfills that wish! You are such a happy guy and really enjoy each and every one of your RUclips videos!
The way you say, ok when Zara says it tastes stouty 😂 so funny!! That whole bit was so funny but it is awful once you’ve decided something is vile and you just can’t eat it!! X
I don’t have a home bargains or home sense near me so I get a bit envious when I see the bits and pieces you show from there - I guess I need to plan a day trip to a big retail area. Lovely to spend the day with you, now I’ll pop over and see what Iwan bought.
Homebargains are online
@@catherinebarlow3079 thank you, I will take a look.
IKEA do a design service Luke too for wardrobes etc x
I enjoyed journeying with Zara, Your self and Mr C
Missing Maggie as well looking forward to seeing her soon❤
OMG, Australia Traitors, the ending is surperb. Enjoy!!
Loved this vlog. Just what I needed after a 3½ hour journey back up north👍👍
Loveyour vlogs they cheer me up so much looking forward to 3 next week😂 oh yes non alcoholic cocktails yum I have the Arkitech Dulite kettle love it
Fisrt, yay Looking forward to see what renovations your planning to do. Happy Sunday x
Funny as I watch your video from Canada 🇨🇦 drinking Fortnum and mason tea and walker’s shortbread ❤🇨🇦
Love an Ikea and HB trip. So glad you enjoyed Swimming in the Dark, beautiful book. I've read the Rooney book and her Normal People and I didn't like either really, not one for her writing. Did love the tv series of Normal People though 😂 Started One Day on Netflix recently and enjoying it so far. Haven't read the book however. Have a wonderful Sunday 🤎
Hey Luke! Congratulations on having su h a good dog. You can place your toast on your countertop, and your beautiful dog won't steal it. We have four dachshunds, and they are all thieves. We are never alone in the kitchen.
Luke.... Traitors Australian version is mind blowing good!!💜💜😁😁. Make sure you watch right through to the final ! ✨✨
Hi Luke, enjoyed your vlog, l know what you mean about Jeffrey Archer but a very good writer, l have just read a series of books called The Clifton Chronicles really enjoyed them, will have to give Kane and Abel a read, as you say your wardrobe will be fine for now until you get something more permanent, your book choices are great will check some of these out, love your kettle and toaster lovely gift x
Luke, thank you so much for posting this video on my Birthday, February 11th just after midnight on the west coast! My present from you is just being able to see your incredibly beautiful blue eyes!
Ahh happy birthday to you!!❤️❤️
yay new vlog, but i missed maggie!
An few ideas to strengthen the wardrobe more as you have not got the back piece that holds the frame square there will always be some tension on the frame so I would buy an new piece of hardboard or even ply wood to fix onto the back or failing that some wooden struts across the back attached the the sides would strengthen the frame. You can see where the floor is uneven as the wardrobe still leans towards the wall so adding a thin shim along the bottom of that side would lift it to be more square, try placing a level on top to get the right adjustment shim height.
Morning Luke ❤
Last year I had my contractor install a brand new kitchen. I used the Ikea kitchen planner. I put all lower drawers so only cabinet doors are under kitchen sink. I absolutely love my kitchen. It is the white finish and they are easy to keep clean. They are more substantial than I expected. Every door has soft close. You will be so pleased with any product you purchase from Ikea.
We are strongly considering a kitchen from IKEA. They seem really sturdy and the payment schemes are very handy too!
fab video guys, shame Zara didn't like the Chilli. Homebargains have some fab things their storage solutions are good too. not been to Ikea but they look as though they have some great items. xxx
Great video Luke. I really enjoy watching and listening to you. I put some more of your books on my waiting list. I did just finish Kane and Abel. I enjoyed it to some extent....I appreciated the scope of it. Had never read Jeffrey Archer before. In the end I thought there wasn't much in the way of character development. Thought they weren't deep enough (I mean how many times did he have to remind the reader that Abel had a limp). And where were any gay people. But oh well....currently reading "Holly" by Stephen King and so far it is holding my interest. I really like everything about your videos. You make it all look so easy....but I know it's not. Best to you!
Find a throw or even use duvet cover material for recovering your upholstery ??? Xx
Setting yourself challenges to read 30 books well done you.
I love your new kettle and toaster I have a Dualit one they are a good make and yes expensive but should last you years and you work hard the pair of you so you can afford to treat yourselves. You can get metal and plastic sheds which require less up keep.
Now I want to go to IKEA. I laugh every time you mention the "wardrobe of doom". I think you did a good job repairing it, should last a while now!
Happy Sunday
Don't be so hard on yourself,Zara. The chilli looks lovely😊
Talking about books .I just finished "the woman at number 19" by J A Barker. It was a fantastic read. I'm currently reading Heather Critchlow 's Unburied .
Great video,Luke
Luke you will love the prodigal daughter by jeffrey archer think it’s the next one after Kane and Abel !! Enjoy one day it made me cry. Thanks for the book recommendations I’ll def get the housemaids x2. Ps haven’t commented in ages but watch you videos every week . The house looks fab your both well settled in now xx
Thank you Luke for your interesting video. Great seeing round the shops with you and Mr Carrington. May I ask where you bought you’re beautiful bowls that you had your chilli in?
Thank you so much! I got them in a charity shop a few years ago but they were originally from John Lewis/Waitrose x
😅😅 Zaras reaction with the chilli 😅😅
Oh they did a 12 part series on Cain and Able years ago but watched it recently on u tube it’s fab great actors. Peter Strauss and Sam Neill both great actors acted the parts of Caine and Able def recommend
🎉🎉🎉 Fun fun fun !!!!
It's so great that you read Swimming in the Dark & recommended it to your viewers!!
I know that you and Zara are so close (maybe too close) & that she may know you better & knows what you would like but I can really fathom taking book recommendations from her as I'm not a 20 something WASP female & into Chick Lit. No offense meant. I wouldn't expect her to take any of my recommendations either.
Zara is so funny ❤ great ikea shop ❤
As I don’t drive I have to rely on my friend offering to take me to ikea so love to see what they’ve got. I read the housemaids secret and it was such a good read & good twist 👍🏽 also recommend the maid (nita prose) and she has a sequel out now too - also a fun thriller ❤ would love to see a non alcoholic passion fruit martini ❤
I absolutely loved both the Housemaid books and such fantastic reads. I got them from The Works as part of their 3 for £6 offer. I picked up 2 more of Freida McFadden books from The Works yesterday as part of the same order - such bargain books when they work out at £2 each.
Just looked and my local library has Swimming in the Dark so going to go get it tomorrow - libraries are so underrated but a really cheap way to access alot of books
Wow! That is an amazing price for her books. I need to check out our local library now that we have moved
Wait, what! Did Luke say open the boot and just gooi it in??? Around the 24min mark. The saffas got to you, boet 😂😂
Im visiting in April. Loving your vlogs (and Mr. C too). I much prefer to visit some interesting local shops for some nice homewares / clothes etc. So much more meaningful and interesting than expensive souvenir dust collectors. THANKS!
That book one day sounds a bit like the fab film before sunset... its a trilogy, after sunrise and before midnight, i think the other two are called. The first 2 were FAB.
I would like to see some mocktails please xx
Much as I like IKEA products do look at other wardrobe systems, I just could not get their sizes to fit it's too much depth It is a few years but I had 3 wardobes with my internal choices all fitted mine were from a company who sells beds
