    Just a word of warning about growing mint in case you were thinking of planting it in the garden. It's a bit of a thug and can spread everywhere. Kewp it in a container if you can. Happy gardening ☘️

      @doig18 6 месяцев назад +5

      Yes! Glad someone else mentioned that. I came here to say the same because it def spreads and become invasive and will just take over the whole yard.

    Morning 😊 Could you just get the roof replaced on the shed? The sides look OK and sheds are very expensive! 😊

    • @DrKerr..
      @DrKerr.. 6 месяцев назад +8

      I was thinking the same. Looks solid the roof beams. Needs boards and new felt.

    • @cherylmartin9994
      @cherylmartin9994 6 месяцев назад +3

      Agreed! We didn't see the outside but if it's ok then just do the roof. So much cheaper. It looks a good size for storage of garden tools and bits as well as other things.

      I think Luke has mentioned before, he feels it’s too big for the garden and they would rather have a smaller one.

    If you put a Banana skin into a container (I use a jam jar)of water, to infuse for a day or two, you can then feed it to your plants. I do this and the plants thrive. 👍👍👍👍

    I agree with the comment about replacing the roof on your shed, sheds are so expensive, we have replaced roofs on sheds before and it’s quite easy and a fraction of the cost and can last years, just give it a coat of waterproof paint in the summer. Save your pennies 😊😊

    As a youngster I always made the mint sauce from fresh, most gardens back then grew mint. Finely chop the mint, put into a little jug, add one tsp of sugar then add the vinegar and stir…👍

    Hi Luke, when those mats first came out years ago they used to be called coconut mats. The red napkins match your light that was behind you. Just a tip if you didn't know always keep your mint in pot because if you plant in garden it spreads like wild fire.

    Luke if the walls of the shed are in good condition I recommend putting on a new roof. Older shed are better quality and cheaper than a new one. You only need to use sheets of either plywood or osb then put on the bitumen roll on top. I have just had my summer house repaired. It was cheaper than a replacement even including the cost of labour.

    Hi Luke, having a cup of coffee while I watch you this cold, partial cloudy day here in Northern California.
    When you get a shed, buy a large one as you will need that space. By the time you have a lawn mower, garden tools, potting soil, cans of other garden stuff and pots, plus storage for lawn chairs and such during winter you will be happy for the space. Love the shelves too.
    My IKEA is such a long drive, but I may have to go one of these days.
    You got some neat pots Luke just be careful to not overwater when you do not have drain holes in the bottom. Your daffodils are so pretty in the window. That on pot with scalloped edge does look old world and just love the look.
    Have a beautiful week. See you soon. ❤❤❤

    I agree with these recommendations about your shed. The walls and roof rafters appear to be in good condition. At least in the US, getting sheet plywood, underlay, and shingles..would be much much less expensive than a new shed. Also the installation is simple and you can do it yourself in two days.

    Wood on that shed is great quality Luke!!! Ive my shed 24 years and doesnt have that quality timber. When my shed started leaking 8 years ago i got a local handy man to re-felt the roof. You can just buy the felt in rolls and the special nails. I think the whole job including labour was 80e. Love from Ireland.

    Great vlog. I would try to repair the shed. There are a problem with The rafters, they look like they are set on the broad side and this isn’t as strong as if they are set on the narrow side. We replace our roof on our shed with composite roofing and it lasted for years. The other thing would be doing one side of the roof with material like the roof you need to replace. Or reuse that if you can.
    Paint can only be frozen three times before it goes bad. Canadian formulation. Paint would help but the wood would absorb a lot of paint.

    A bit of trivia about Old Spice. The original Old Spice scent was developed and marketed for women. However, the complaints were coming in that the boyfriends, husbands, brothers were stealing the product and using the products for themselves. Old Spice changed its marketing to sell to men and became a big hit.

    Happy Sunday Luke. The fern is looking great! Loved all the stuff in your haul. I quite enjoy the chatty catch up vlogs. I can't remember if you've mentioned it but is it feasible to just redo the roof on your shed? I had the same issue and that's what I did. Sheds are so expensive. The size of your shed looks good for storage too. The house looks so cozy! Great job styling 🤩

    Hello 👋 😊, oh the napkins match the lamp beautifully. Hey smiley faces are cute and will cheer you up everytime you open the door 😂. Glad you taste tested the dumle sweets, will have to get some now yum 😋. Brave man going into that shed with so many spiders 🕷️ 😮. Yeah the smell of mint and basil heaven ❤. 😂😂you’ll need to sharpie the prices onto things 🤭😂. Awhh old spice brought me back to the good old days 😂. Oh I had those noodles last night on own and thought such a waste all the tasty liquid so great ideas to pimp it up ❤. Love the cushion, great styling. Thanks for the vlog xx

    Water your lily tepid water and keep out of direct sunlight, the sun bleachs/ dries out their leaves.

    Luke, the shed has had it and you are wasting money repairing any bit of it. When you get a new shed you will be amazed just how much you use it. Sad that you didn't do your "love it" expression when you tasted the choccy.😁

    You should try growing tomatoes as well from scratch in a pot if you buy the plant it's well worth it.

    Hi Luke, great vlog. Lots of interesting buys. Loved the "grow your own herbs 🌿 kit". Also, the ribbed vase was fab, especially filled with those pretty flowers 💐 x

    Love your videos luke.
    Your house is beautiful.
    Can I just ask.
    On this video, there is a noise in the background.
    Is it a fan or something?
    Hope you don't mind me asking. X
