      For people saying he will get guaranteed money, that's not how it works at all... You don't get guaranteed money if you willingly retire. That literally makes no sense. It's guaranteed on the condition you are still playing in the league. Hence why a team is stuck with guarantees if a player plays for another team or is injured. If that was the case Deshaun Watson could have just immediately retired after getting 230 million guaranteed without doing anything. Signing bonus I'm not sure about but I think the team can still sue the player for the money back if they feel inclined to do so. The exact same situation played out when Andrew Luck retired and the Colts allowed him to keep 25 million.

      I’m fairly certain his helmet is one of the newer helmets that already has the extra protection that the guardian caps provide on the older helmets. The only reason you see players wearing them is because their helmet isn’t considered as safe as the newer ones that Tuas using. The league already stated that they will just incorporate the guardian caps into the helmets themselves as soon as next year. It’s basically just a padding and adding extra padding to a helmet wouldn’t necessarily stop concussions. It just lowers the risk. It’s more or less the brain hitting the interior of the skull which is not really preventable. The brain is essentially floating in water. There’s no way to stop it when the current is going in One Direction towards the interior of the skull so when he’s hit, think of it at a boat cutting the engine off, except there’s no immediate stoppage as the water carries it forward, which will cause the damage to the brain. The only way to really prevent this is to just stop getting hit aka retiring.

    I'm a 90's kid Shannon and you are one of the players that drew me to the NFL. You were basically the first true Duel Threat TE. Basically single handedly revolutionized that position into what it is today. I'm also a huge Miami Fan, because the first game I ever saw and was old enough to understand the game. Dan Marino was throwing darts all day and fell in love with him and OJ McDuffy. That said, thank you for your contributions to this sport. It wouldnt be the same without you.

      Yes, totally different eras that can't really be compared statistically at all. Sharpe is in HOF for a reason, he was one of the best TEs of all times. But you said he was the 1st dual threat TE. He wasn't. Mike Ditka was, he is the one who revolutionized the position, and retired with the most receptions of any TE in history.

    • @KODAKJACK47
      @KODAKJACK47 5 дней назад +3

    • @h.sowandegray2913

      If the league forces players with head trauma or concussions to wear the helmets then it would look REALLY BAD because every other player would be wearing one.

    • @2299mikey
      @2299mikey 5 дней назад

      Those things don’t work. At best they only work for linemen. They actually might make head trauma worse they’re heavy and create more sideways force on the head when it’s hit. That’s more force pushing the brain into the skull.
