I know. Some people would think this is too horrible to be true, but IT IS TRUE! I found it creepy noticing how skinny that boy is and I also noticed some of the girls' arms are skinny too. They may look happy but it could be because their parents forced them to act happy or because they're so malnourished that they don't know any better.
They don't look older than 12 but what's even worse is that none of them are smarter than a 12 year old. Because of how their parents treated them, they're not very intelligent. The girl you're referring to is 25-27 years old. The oldest girl(and child) is 29. The 2 oldest boys are in their 20's. The boy with glasses is 27-28 years old and the boy that I mentioned earlier is 22-24 years old. These 4 kids should be out of college by now and off on their own. Maybe even getting married and having kids of their own. But that will never happen now because their minds have been way to screwed up by their parents. Being malnourished has not allowed them to age and develop properly. The older kids were put in an assisted living facility for adults and may have to live that way for the rest of their lives because they may never get up to speed with normal people their age. The younger children were placed into foster care. The younger children may still have a chance to get up to speed with normal people their age but it will take a lot of work. But right now they're getting the care they need. They're getting the right amount of food and being allowed to bathe regularly.

A lot of times a news story doesn't feel "real" when it's just a 30 second blip in history, passing by on the news. But you realize how very real it is, when you see how fucking precious and innocent those little girls are, like around the 12:30 mark. They probably weren't even "allowed" to listen to music most of their lives. And probably never even heard the song they were made to sing along to, around that part of the video. ...As creepy as this video is, knowing what we know now, it's 'only' 41 minutes or so.. but imagine how long those 18 hour (awake) days were, EVERYYY day, day in and day out, for years upon years. All a kid knows, is what they know, and all of us at that age (before the internet) just thought that everybody did / and was like, what we did. Besides talking up kids at school; everything we did daily, we just assumed life was like for everyone. So I can see how they probably didn't know anything was wrong, for most of their lives. The only good thing now, is that those two sub-human, lower than dirt, scum of the earth excuses for parents, will finally know what it was like for their kids, for the rest of their lives being "chained down" (figuratively) in prison. But even worse than the kids, as they won't be together, or even in the same prison. I never ever say anything bad about anyone, besides the rare occasion they actually deserve it.. but good fucking riddance. I recently read the book 'The Family Next Door' (about the Turpin children). There's a whole chapter on this wedding from Kent Ripley's (Elvis) perspective. He was really suspicious of how skinny the kids were and how awkward they acted when he gave them attention, but he assumed he was over thinking things.
At 14:54, the person that said yeah at that part is Jordan Turpin, the one that manage to call for help by reporting their abusive parents to law enforcement. Even though she was 14-15 years old in 2015 in one of those videos, she still look like 9-10 years old because of the malnourishment she and her siblings had faced.
Not only malnourishment. But they were communicating with nobody but themselves. That doesn’t exactly inspire a great vocabulary, let alone social skills.
I questioned every moment in this video, from the awkwardness to seeing this was probably the first time the younger children had listened to music, seems to me they have never laughed or felt able to, there was a lot of triggers that would be eatting away at them, the photos I’ve seen it was clear these children where being abused, malnourished...
Watching this is nauseating. What they did to their children is unspeakable and completely horrific! The kids were all found to be seriously malnourished amongst the torture and isolation they endured - its I just cant fathom the horror of it all.

Even though Jordan and Jennifer were healthy at their recent interviews. I noticed in one of the pictures Jordan was when she reunited with the Police Officer that led the raid to apprehend her abusive parents look like 15-16 years old even though she was 21 years old.

38:30 Louise rejects David's hand 39:30 a brief display of affection from Louise to one of the younger daughters I get the feeling that Louise cared more for the children then David. She appeared to be happy to see her children having fun. David looks obsessed with Louise, almost like he only has eyes for Louise (as romantic as that sounds we all know how disturbing it is in this case). My guess is he resented the fact that he had to share Louise's attention with the children. He probably began hating them and abusing them before Louise started. Regardless, they are equally evil monsters undeserving of air and sunlight. It boggles my mind that she carried each of these children in her womb for 9 months and yet still allowed the abuse to get so horrific. It's absurd that they got away with such neglect for so long. 13 emaciated children that don't attend school nor visit their friends didn't set off any alarm bells for anyone? Jonathan in particular developed skeletal abnormalies due to years of being retrained. He is so well mannered, he politely responded to Elvis' appreciation after they performed on stage and Elvis mistakenly called him James.

Yeah, they were very controlled. You constantly see louise watching their every move and them looking nervously towards their parents. They weren't acting as normal siblings would. In a big family like that, you would expect to see the siblings interacting more with each other than they were here. They weren't talking to each other. Only talking on command.

Ugh it hurts me to watch this. These kids' arms are so skeletal and sadly, their laughs didn't sound real. I mean it sounded like sad laughs. Like they wanna laugh but they feel like they can't. I'm just so proud of Jordan for saving their lives. And the sad thing is the girls' voices sound like they are on helium..

I recently read the book 'The Family Next Door' (about the Turpin children). There's a whole chapter on this wedding from Kent Ripley's (Elvis) perspective. He was really suspicious of how skinny the kids were and how awkward they acted when he gave them attention, but he assumed he was over thinking things.

Even though she was 14-15 years old in 2015 in one of those videos, she still look like 9-10 years old because of the malnourishment she and her siblings had faced.
Not only malnourishment. But they were communicating with nobody but themselves. That doesn’t exactly inspire a great vocabulary, let alone social skills.

I questioned every moment in this video, from the awkwardness to seeing this was probably the first time the younger children had listened to music, seems to me they have never laughed or felt able to, there was a lot of triggers that would be eatting away at them, the photos I’ve seen it was clear these children where being abused, malnourished...
Watching this is nauseating. What they did to their children is unspeakable and completely horrific! The kids were all found to be seriously malnourished amongst the torture and isolation they endured - its I just cant fathom the horror of it all.

Even though Jordan and Jennifer were healthy at their recent interviews. I noticed in one of the pictures Jordan was when she reunited with the Police Officer that led the raid to apprehend her abusive parents look like 15-16 years old even though she was 21 years old.
This has to be one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever seen 💔😢 I truly hope the children can find love, happiness and get the justice they deserve x

I get the feeling that Louise cared more for the children then David. She appeared to be happy to see her children having fun. David looks obsessed with Louise, almost like he only has eyes for Louise (as romantic as that sounds we all know how disturbing it is in this case). My guess is he resented the fact that he had to share Louise's attention with the children. He probably began hating them and abusing them before Louise started. Regardless, they are equally evil monsters undeserving of air and sunlight.

One of the daughters (Jordan) stated that the kids were genuinely having a "good" time during these moments since they never go out. They seemed "normal" here. The kids were happy, people thought they were a big happy family. No one suspected one of the kids was actually a grown adult..

Yeah, they were very controlled. You constantly see louise watching their every move and them looking nervously towards their parents. They weren't acting as normal siblings would. In a big family like that, you would expect to see the siblings interacting more with each other than they were here. They weren't talking to each other. Only talking on command.
