    I was about 95% sure the wires I was pulling out of the clutch was the coil but this video made me 100% sure. Thank you for documenting this.

    As soon as the bearing let loose, the frame of the clutch bell started coming in contact with the windings and that was all she wrote on that. Good diagnosis my Friend! Sean~

    Good video Bruce, I use the aftermarket," Extreme High Torque" clutches in my shop. The have heavier bearings and stronger magnetic pull in power. Have had great luck with them. Also they came with all the parts and I usually don't have to swap any parts. Thanks for the great video's.

    The universal way to prevent the engine from turning (single or multi-cylinder, two or four stroke) without the use of an impact tool is to stuff an old starter rope (we all have one or several) through the spark plug hole. The piston will compress the rope almost solid and will not cause ANY damage to the motor. The rope can also be used around the neck of an obnoxious customer or friend.

    • @BrucesShop
      @BrucesShop  5 лет назад

      You are right. I don't like doing that as I am afraid of dislodging a chunk of carbon. That is just me.

    • @jackhuffaker4981

      I just took pto of a L130. I put a pipe wrench on shaft above pto with the jaw open to the back of mower. I used a 1/2" drive with a 5/8" socket and a cheater bar. I came loose easily. You don't necessary need an impact or to take off the top of flywheel. My way was simpler for me.

    take one spark plug out or both shove rope into the piston that is down, not top dead up center, displace the down piston cavity with nylon rope , to displace the voided area , then when you torque the bolt to spec the piston, and the rope will have resistance, to allow resistance against the piston and allow you to tighten the bolt

    On the chance that it could be cleaned out and work next time don't pull wire or anything from the windings on the electromagnet. Better to blow out dirt if necessary. Amazing that you can get that clutch assembly for $30.
