      @johnbolton2149 2 года назад

      Paulie was on a big platform for yrs. He was pretty good at it too, despite speaking 2 million mph and his awful regional dialect.
      You see when you’re on a big platform you have great responsibility. Speaking for a living makes you responsible for your words. Paulie won’t accept this fact. Paulie either thinks he deserves special privilege, or he’s just that committed to defiantly spraying his ignorance whenever he feels the urge.
      Only Paulie knows which of these reasons is why he can’t handle the responsibility of one of those big jobs, thus he’s doing whatever this is on RUclips. In the eyes of the networks and streaming services that broadcast fights, Paulie is a huge liability. Radioactive. Not bc of ‘cancel culture’ or ‘libs’, but bc of 💰. He scares shareholders and advertisers that value their bottom line more than Paulie values those jobs. Period, end of story.

    • @josecenteno08
      @josecenteno08 2 года назад +2

      He basically said that boxing goes through cycles where certain races or ethnicities dominate, and that this current era is not the era of the African American (black) fighter. He said that this era belongs to the Eastern European fighter. In my opinion there was nothing “racist” about it. He even acknowledged (being Italian himself) that the Italians had their turn once upon a time, and they are not the ones currently dominating. The problems lies in that we live in this bizarre country where you can’t make any comment whatsoever regarding black people if you’re not black. You will be fired/canceled instantly because you’re a racist.

Why is he randomly talking about the downfall of African American fighters? Why would someone cherry pick an ethinic group that is only like 5% of America? Also USA has double the world champs as the 2nd next country which is Mexico, Japan is 3rd no Euro countries in the top 3! @@josecenteno08 why are blck Americans (a very small ethnic group) on Paulies mind so much that he felt the need to do multiple hit pieces about them talking about them in a negative light? There are plenty of blck ppl who don’t care about this stuff and they have to sit here and listen to people like you and Paulie obsess over them and constantly RANDOMLY find ways to talk about them in a negative light! Btw Black Americans have the most unified belts in boxing too! By the end of the year there will also be 2 undisputed African American fighters! The biggest fight in boxing right now is between two African American welterweights! If you’re not racist and you don’t care about race why are you randomly talking negative about any race? Why are you even breaking it down as “African American fighters” why does your brain see it like that especially if you’re an American like Paulie is? Tell me why? If he’s not racist why does he look at boxing and see the downfall of only African American boxers? Again especially an American why would an American mentally see it and explain it that way? Why did he CHOOSE to randomly do a hit piece talking about black ppl and their issues outside of boxing? Isn’t their a war going on between to white euro countries that can potentially end the world right now? Isn’t every war started by a white man or by some other foreign race? But oh that small 13% in America so evil and bad because they kill each other right? White ppl though they’re just good ppl the wars, raping, stealing of landing doesn’t matter even if they still do it in 2022 right it don’t matter it’s all about that evil 13% in America right? That corner scene was out a Rocky movie, haha. Honestly, I would never NOT throw a sponge-worth of water into my fighter's face between rounds...it's simply the most cut/cornerman-thing a cut or cornerman can do.

    The Paulie vs Arnoutis vs Ricardo Torres vs Kendall Holt vs Lazcano vs Rocky Martinez articles and threads were so much fun, and kept boxing buzz especially when you consider that it isn't like football where your team plays every sunday... you know? I found the pain to be negligible in the moment. For me, getting hit is a loss of energy. Every time you get hit that energy meter goes down a bit. It's a battle of 2 athletes, each trying to sap the other's energy meter. In a street fight, I found punches to hurt a lot more. It could be due to the gloves or the fact that in a boxing ring you have set rules and a contract between the 2 participants. I think the casual sees the punch as "wow, that must hurt!" When it should be thought of more like an increase in difficulty and loss of energy (running up a hill etc.).

    You can learn how to take shots technically by riding the punch or trying to keep your chin down etc but at the end of the day you either have it in you to take one or you don't

    Paulie is as good as any other boxing analysts, better than most, I honestly can't remember any times when I've heard him commentating and breaking down fights where I've not agreed. Also to say he used to get called pillow fists and shit like that he did well to be 2 weight champ, guy was very skillful fighter. I knew he was gonna say cotto was the biggest banger as soon as I saw the vid title.

    I want to know as a boxing fan who his favorite fighters are, like maybe his top ten. And what weightclass is his favorite. I think welterweight is objectively the greatest weight class, but as for me personally i like the middleweights.

    Loving the discussion. I’m thinking Canelo may stop ggg with a body shot as ggg has his body battered in his last fight. I’m curious how ggg will fare at 168. I do think ggg has the power to ko Canelo if he hits him flush but I’d go with a Canelo stoppage via a body shot

    There were so many good fighters and personalities when you were starting out. You fought a lot of people. Literally nobody fights that many names anymore. Danny garcia maybe. Most people kind of let their careers get slow played away in boxing.

    This was very interesting paulie. I know everyone handles a hit differently, as seen when bud hurt kell with a jab, holyfield getting hit by foreman (no ko) and back in the corner asking his handler “do i still have my teeth?”, etc. I believe i can’t get knocked out (i used to jump down full flights of stairs, then stupidly did this going down my schools staircase and wacked my head on cement/steel staircase above as i was looking at my landing zone i didn’t see the contact coming, and nothing, no stars, no unconsciousness. I just got up thinking that was stupid. So i actually believe some people could possibly be un-ko’able. But then again, i never got hit by mike tyson. How much worse is getting hit by a ko artist? Interesting

    Paulie I have a question, what’s your opinion on a boxer that switching stances as part of their style? Crawford and Hagler come to mine, but it seems it’s mostly a gimmick when fighters try to do both stances.

      I think if your a switch hitter and fighting orthodox and your opponent moves to your right past you back hand being able to swith negates the need to reset other than that most fights know how to fight both and will adapt Accordingly
