Lennox Lewis to me (cause his resume and correcting both his losses) and he fought everyone if his era because of that he’s the HW of the 90s but mike Tyson was better just didn’t do what he needed to be best of the era. What’s your criteria for determining the best of an era .

Can you talk about different types of gloves and their qualities for pro fights (Reyes, grants, Wyns) and also the dark side of boxing like tricks to get advantages like hand wraps, tampered gloves and contractual tricks

“I don’t have an issue with you being competitive and you even not liking the criticism. But you have to also be able to understand the difference between constructive criticism and hating criticism.”

Love your honesty, Paulie. It's really refreshing. I have a question for a future video: As a former world champion, What do you think is the correlation between high fighter pay and quality of opposition? The UFC, granted it's all under one roof, does not pay well but continously push their fighters to fight the best with the promise of a higher payday. While boxing mainstays seem to make much higher paydays but usually have to be forced into meaningful competitive fights.
I guess what I'm really asking is do you think this can be fixed in boxing without keeping fighters completely poor?

I’d like to hear you talk about the physical pain a boxer experiences especially after a fight. Like pain in the arms, hands, and body. Boxers never talk about that stuff for obvious reasons but I’d be interested to know what that’s like first hand from a boxer. Thanks Paulie! 🥊

@ElMensajero-hs4qz of course a quick fight won't put any mileage on you, so you won't feel anything, but a good fight will be longer with more soreness the next day. Even if it's "easy" fight, the longer it goes, the more sore you are the next day because you're throwing and receiving punches
Sometimes you take nasty body shots that reach into your kidney/liver/spleen and thats a deep type of lingering pain that'll make you not even wanna lay on that side of your body in bed. Other times you could take a good blow to the jaw that'll cause swelling and on the drive home you notice your bite is kinda lopsided and your teeth don't align correctly because of that swelling and the worst part about that is it makes chewing so painful that you'd rather skip your next few meals.

In some ways yea but Margarito most likely had loaded gloves for one and for 2 the Taylor fight got stopped with 2 seconds left in a fight he'd clearly won otherwise. Both are similar in that late in the fight the sand was running out of the hourglass of the guy who jumped out to a clear abd dominant lead

I've always liked how Paulie could analyze fights and breakdown what he sees in the ring while the action is going down. Regardless of the comments he made 2 or 3 years ago of the Eastern Europeans being the superiors in boxing (which I totally disagreed with). I'm really liking his boxing stories and takes, this is a channel I will look forward to watching regularly. You've got my subscription 🙌🏽 😀

I know as fans we see certain aspects but the numbers of sit ups, the exact diets, prepping game plans etc are always kept secret, especially fighters like Floyd, there is no way he just hits pads, bags and does sit ups and pull ups. I'd love to know more!

Followed your career every step of the way and you vs Cotto is one of my all time favs. I remember when you and Hatton announced the fight, I thought Hatton was a great matchup for you.
