I’m a Shimano fan, 90% of my reels and rods are Shimano. But the new 2025 Daiwa saltiga draws my attention more than the 2025 Stella Sw. Shimano needs to step up their game.
I'm also a Shimano fan. But Daiwa reels look better, they look solid and luxurious. Meanwhile, Shimano reels have started to look like budget class. I have a vanquish 23 and a vanford 24, both are the same apart from the internal mechanism. But the appearance is nothing impressive at all.. I don't like the quality of Shimano lately! They always have defective bearings!
Am I the only one here who notices that Shimano reels have bowed down to Daiwa reels? Daiwa reels look really serious, high quality and not childish. Shimano reels look like toys, take a mid-range Shimano and a luxury Shimano reel and they actually look the same, apart from the mechanism.
At 3:30 when he says that the infinity guide system keeps the line from hitting the rod which causes abrasion. This is NOT true. No traditional rod is abrasive enough to damage your line. It was done to minimize rod & guide contact which creates drag and reduces casting fluidity & distance.
That’s not the old model of Ocea plugger limited rod, the X guides are different from the 2021 model, I owned a 21 model Ocea limited 83mh rod. That must be the new 2025 model.
Is there a way for Retailers to connect with Shimano Japan to discuss business? I cannot travel 24 hours one way just to have a chat. How can I connect?
I have a 1989 Shimano Bantam Black Magnum 2000 II, two gear ratio, bait caster reel and the flipping cam spring fell out of place when I opened it to perform maintenance on it. I asked a Shimano representative for assistance on how to put the spring back in place and what he/she told me upset me considerably. Shimano told me that they couldn’t help me, and because the reel is old, to just discard it and purchase a newer model. What kind of customer service is that, for a company to not back their product? The reel has been taken care of by me and before I took it apart, it performed great. Most big companies no longer care about their customers, they are only interested in making money. To me, the way that Shimano handled my problem is totally unacceptable and irresponsible. I guess, from here out I will no longer purchase anymore Shimano products. Maybe Daiwa will be a better choice for me in the future. Not everyone, has money to just throw away!
every reel that hits the 100 euro price tag ,should have a one piece handle ....daiwa exceler does while nasci ,ultegra dont...c'mon shimano its 2025...you can do better than that....

Give us the Stella SW 30000 or new 35000 for deep sea monster battles.
Need help manual for English version of Ocea Conquest 300 CT HG.

I think it's in their best interest to hear what you have to say
