Very clean and premuim look! I would love if you could get a DRL for the turn signals. Would be pretty cool to have it be white when your driving then be amber when you're making a turn!
What you should do is check if LED bulb gives you EXACTLY the same shape of light line as halogen bulb. Otherwise, you might be blinding drivers coming from oposite direction, since light doesn't bounce properly of your stock halogen housing. You should stand in front of some flat, vertical surface (wall, garage doors) some couple meters away, mark the halogen border and then do the same with LED. If LED exceeds halogen border even by 1 cm, it's very dangerous. LED / Xenon light sources need to be very precise, as they are very intesive. Besides, the light housing might not be homologated (so prepared) for other light sources than halogen. Keep that all in mind. It might be better for you, but in reality very bad for other drivers. If you blind them, they might not see for a little while after passing you, or even before passing you, creating safety hazard.
Or you could look at the product used in the install and description to see that it is specifically designed with the proper pattern just for highway use on motorcycles, instead of making very generalized and baseless claims.
Tremonte OK then, would you mind showing me where it is written what you just said? I can't find anything in the description that the bulb is somwhat complaint whit the code. And i'm not talking about producer claims. Just fyi - i live in EU so it may be different in terms of the road code, but irl it's the same thing. Until you can prove me wrong, my claims are pretty much solid.
Hi! The products you have in the description do not ship to sweden or exist on amazon.co.uk. What specs do I need to check for when buying led light for Z650? I want strong and basically 6000 k.
Hi, Thanks you for all theses "how-to" Im french and i have the same motorcycle. Could you make a comparison between stock and led. Sometimes, leds give a poor quality of light vs original. Thanks
Did you have any trouble getting the two screws out that hold the fixture? I’m currently in the process of changing the lights on my 650 and can’t for the life of me get those two screws out.
I'm late to this but when i follow the link provided for the headlight this does not point me to the same brand as shown in the video. Will this one still work or should I be worried? Hope to get an answer as I would really like the extra brightness.
I left those stock, but did add a self canceling module and smart brake module. Pretty dope addition to the bike! Smart Turn System Install | Kawasaki Z650 Self-Cancelling Turn Signals ruclips.net/video/F1-NAL8u_iI/видео.html
Can anyone help me with ninja 650 led install? The dust covers are different than the z650 and there's wires going thru the cap. Anyone help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Hi, do you need resistor to prevent the OEM blinkers to burn ? And if i have replace blinkers by led, and also the all front's lights, will I need extra resistor (i'll put some between blinkers and stock cables) to not burn the front display for example ? Thanks in advance ! Keep up, Ride Safe
No resistors are needed to change the bulbs in this video. If you change the blinkers, you will want to replace the flasher module with one compatible for LED. The only reason for that, is to have the correct flash rate. It's much easier to replace the module than splice resistors at each blinker. The module is located near the front forks, just behind the left plastic. Hope that helps!
Tremonte thank you very much ! I've just changed the 2 small lights with LED and it's much nicer ! I'll see for the blinkers rate if a put some resistor or I change the relay ! Thanks a lot for your videos, ride safe !
I bought the same headlight bulb and corner lights. The corner lights work just fine. I was able to install the headlight bulb, I connected the two cables to the other cables with the USB looking box, then connected that to the OEM connection. It’s numbered and only fits the same type connection. The LEDs flickered slightly and the fan worked but no light..am I missing something?
Hi Tremonte. Thanks for your video! I'm learning a lot with all of your them. I would like to ask you a couple of questions: 1) I realized that the front lights (both, low beams and high beams ) are focusing to high and far. Do you know if those front lights are adjustable? 2) Why did you install the 40W instead the 80w led? I don't know if you have some like MOT - UK / TÜV - Germany / ITV - Spain (compulsory vehicle test in Europe) in America. Would those LED lamps be accepted? Thanks in advance. Cheers!
I went with the 40W because that alone is nearly twice the lumens of the standard bulb, and is plenty enough light. That, and you save on energy consumption, which will add up later on when I change over to a SpeedCell lithium battery. The headlamp adjustment I believe are the two silver screws just above the main lamp on the assembly. The two with what look to be washers.
Hey! I know this video is super old, but how is the headlight projection for the light? I just bought a speedmetal kit today and I feel like it has some blind spots.
The springs do not want to snap in with these bulb. What is going on? The spring snaps perfectly fine with the stock halogen but not for these bulbs. Edit: solution was to loosen the screw holding the spring
Mine must've been a manufacture defect. Agreed it was a firm fit. Though I had to loosen the screw holding the spring a little bit so that there was more room for it to move.
Soooo... what if I got that headlamp upgrade for my Z650, but for the corner lights, I used RED T10s... Would that be legal in Georgia? As long as the main headlight is bright and white?
In NC, it's illegal to run any red or blue lighting while on the highway unless it's an emergency vehicle. Your best bet is to search the GA DMV/DOT website to see what they allow.
Ill see what I can find. I know that people here can have red halo "angel eyes" on their cars as long as the headlight itself its red. And I was pulled over for flashing red lights on my car and was told there only legal if they dont flash (altho I read after that ALL red underglow is illegal)... But I don't know about red corner lights. It just seems like a real cheap and cool thing to do, but not worth paying a ticket.
Thanks for making video. Very helpful! Gotta question hoping you'll be able to help or give insights. I got a new Z650 and hoping to change the headlight with a round headlight like the one in Kawasaki Z900RS or Yamaha XSR700 or Ducati Scrambler. Do you think that's possible? If so, do you have a recommendation the best round headlight to use and how to mount it?
This is the only direct bolt-on headlight that I know of, that is round. amzn.to/2oGgaBn You could always get an assembly from ebay and try to fabricate it to fit. There are universal kits.
JUNIOR M if you used the link, it's the exact bulb I have. It's one lamp, and the driver. Lamp replaces old, plugs into the driver (square thing), then driver plugs into the lamp socket
My apologies.... I figured it out. Mine came with an adapter and I’m not sure if it’s did also. Because the LED bulb is biggger then the stock bulb it was a bitch to get the clip in the space between the bulb and the housing. All in all I got it put on but it look like my cables are hanging out more then urs
Thank you for all of your videos... It is nice of you to be my guinea pig😂 I would love to see a chain adjustment video and possibly a oil and coolant change if your due for one. P.S. I'd throw on a Radiator cover

+JUNIOR M I'm changing a light bulb. Only 4 screws to take the plastic off, which you can clearly see, then the 3 that hold the lamp assembly. Bulb just pops out like on any vehicle.

Nice!! that's the only thing I wanted on this bike that didn't come on it from the factory

Does that fit in 2019 z650.great video
awesome video! I just to try this on my 2017 Ninja 650 ... have to deal with a lot of fairing!
I need these bulbs! The last 4 times I rode my motorcycle under water the bulbs burnt out and I couldn’t see a damn thing.
what type of lamps should we use if we wanted to make the turn signal indicators led as well?
Hi! The products you have in the description do not ship to sweden or exist on amazon.co.uk.
What specs do I need to check for when buying led light for Z650? I want strong and basically 6000 k.
FABULOUS...NUFF SAID.
Hi,
Thanks you for all theses "how-to"
Im french and i have the same motorcycle.
Could you make a comparison between stock and led.
Sometimes, leds give a poor quality of light vs original.
Thanks
david yuksel I am going to be doing that soon, with a comparison of riding through tunnels. I haven't ridden at night due to the cold weather still.
I Will put blinkers on corner lamps place
When do you install led turn signals on the bike?
Bro... is this light good enough for dark country roads, i make trips to villages at night with no streetlights.
+Hunk Kwoizer it will be plenty bright. There should be a comparison video linked at the top of the comments or in the video description.
Did you have any trouble getting the two screws out that hold the fixture? I’m currently in the process of changing the lights on my 650 and can’t for the life of me get those two screws out.

The link was updated as the original that I used has changed brands
The headlights I ordered by clicking your link came with two female connectors instead of one like yours
Actually nevermind it do won't matter since it plugs to the driver! Carry on!
Tremonte, where did you find the bulb sizes. I don't see it in the manual. And want to change out my blinker bulbs. But don't see a size.
I found the info on the bulb itself.
Tremonte thanks. The turn signals have no info in them. I ordered my service manual a week ago and I am sure it's there. Just haven't received it yet.
What about the turn signals? Have you gone to LED for those?
I left those stock, but did add a self canceling module and smart brake module. Pretty dope addition to the bike! Smart Turn System Install | Kawasaki Z650 Self-Cancelling Turn Signals ruclips.net/video/F1-NAL8u_iI/видео.html
Any problems with the bulb going out after 3 months? I just installed it in July and it just stopped working today
Haven’t had any issues with mine. Contact them for a replacement.
it looks like the side bulbs are T10 W5W ... isnt it?
Can anyone help me with ninja 650 led install? The dust covers are different than the z650 and there's wires going thru the cap. Anyone help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
You wouldn’t know where the flasher is for the turning signal is would you?
Here ya go. ruclips.net/video/F1-NAL8u_iI/видео.html
What wattage did you get? You mentioned picking 40w over 80w in the comments below but the posted link takes you to a 60w bulb...
Someone was asking me if I bought the 40's, and I replied that I have the exact ones that are linked, which are 60W.
Does the LED driver unit need to be taped up for water protection?
+Tom Harvy it does not. It is completely water tight and submersible
Cheers mate. Looks fantastic!
Hey Tremonte. Do you think can you recommend another brand but the same type of product? When I click on your link it's saying out of stock :(
you should so the before and after so we can see the difference
+Warren K link to comparison is in the description.
The one you used seems to be unavailable most places. Any other recommended brands? Will all H4 LEDs work?
Here you go. This is compatible.
