Dam, it's like four more months of snow and shit on the streets before I can finally ride again. And here's pappa Yam making videos every day to keep me sane meanwhile. Bless you my dude
Northern Alberta here. We'll get through this together. These southern boys don't understand the joy in going out to the garage and just firing it up for a few minutes.
Since it apparently didn’t compute with Yammie... that car putting his nose out near the road was for your safety... his view was blocked by bushes/trees so he inched out to get a clear view and insure he doesn’t pull out on somebody.
By the way guys, if you want to weigh something that is too light to trip the scale, just put something heavy on the scale, then put the object you want to weigh on top and subtract the weight of the heavy item from the total.
Just picked up a 20' z650 as my first bike, loving it, motor sounds like a lawnmower on steroids but it's torquey af and fun, want the full exhaust so I can get some crackles and pops but insurance is draining my bank account 😭
What would happen if you put whole exhaust and didn't tune engine...... long term? Example buy whole exhaust system then lose your job and can't afford to get tuned.... put stock Exhaust back on?? Sorry stupid question
Yammie, I had the shop install a Akropovic full system on my Z650. It was loud on the pops, it sounded like back fire. It rode like crap. I pulled the headers off and found 2 sets of gaskets installed. I installed a single set gasket and now it rides better, it doesnt have that back fire sound anymore.
You were sucking air! I've experienced this with other carbureted bikes of the past. Always verify a good header seal before re-jetting to richen the mix - ask me how I know! lol
Love my Rokform case and accessories BUT once I got the motorcycle mount the vibrations flrom my FZ09 destroyed my iPhones camera image stabilization module. I was warned and didn’t listen, be prepared to do a phone swap unless you like out of focus pictures
If you get a 400 and put a full exhaust on it, you’ll still get beat in a race by an R1. For this I leave all the crap off my 650 except for external accessories.
How do you tune these? I'm used to car tuning but what's the process with tuning a bike? Is there a programmed you hook up to it? Or do you have to have someone tune it on a dyno?
I downsized from the Harley to a Versys 300X. I got it Dec. 31st. Have you done a video of after market slip ons for the little Versys.. If so, I'll go searching. If not, I would to see something like that. I'm looking forward to riding the 3 twisted sister again this spring. After working 52 years (40 at the USPS), I'm finally retired, so I'm ready to put some miles on the little ADV.
@@thebanksfilms4426 nah honestly it's not worth it on a lower performance bike. You COULD retune it, but you'd probably only get a few hp out of the engine. It does save a bunch of weight, but the rest is aesthetic, as with most aftermarket exhausts.
I’m one of the lucky souls to own the same bike and I’m wanting to know where to find and how much this system is. I’ve been looking at the yoshi race alpha but weighing my options after this video any input would be grateful
I put a Delkevic full system with mini 8 inch carbon fiber round muffler with stainless steel 2-1 headers on my ninja 650 and think it's awesome. You should check it out.
We have Quadlock mounts in the UK. What’s a ‘tune’? I’m putting on the mivv delta race system with new exhaust gaskets & the baffle & oxygen sensor. It doesn’t come with a catalytic converter I don’t think.
Yammie, I need your help. In my country, you can only get a 50cc bike first, then upgrade to 125 and 250 ond so on. Im going to get my 50cc license this summer, and I would like to get your opinion on which 50cc bike is best that doesnt have a scooter body. Basically im asking you which 50cc sport/dirt bike I should look for.
So do I have to tune my 2023 ninja 650 for the full system or would it be fine without it. I’m looking at yoshi alpha and akrapovic but have not decided yet. Really do not have or want to spend that much money on the tuning and would love to skip it if possible.
Unrelated to the vid, but any recommendations on how to best transport a bike with a Sedan? I'll be doing several cross country trips over the next few years and need to transport both my car and a triumph bonneville t100. I only have 1,000 lbs towing capacity and the bike is 470ibs itself.
It's not good for the engine to put on a aftermarket exhaust without a tune, the bike runs lean from the factory so you need to tune it as soon as possible but not before u put a DNA or KnN air filter stage 1 and 2 then do a ecu flash for maximum horsepower gains.
@@christianstrathdee174 ok thanks! So much conflicting information out there. Even some of the exhaust manufactures have told me to not worry about a tune but then a lot of the information online says I should.
Have you considered a rapidbike evo exclusive? Its a self tuning piggyback/fuel controller. Pretty damn easy to install and works awesome on my (sad) 125 duke
Ah typical mistake. These bikes are extremely sensitive to exhausts, as in it's not like an inline 4 where every exhaust makes it sound better, you really have to choose the right exhaust for these bikes otherwise you get some crappy raspy sound. The only one I've found so far that sounds deep and grumbley enough is the Black widow SC30Ts Look better and are cheaper too imo

Parallel twins with 180° firing order should not have an exhaust. Every single one sounds absolutely fucking terrible. Especially every squid job in their Ninja 400 with a pipe on it revving out to 12k while they ride down the street at 35mph
No, a full system not worth it. Plus you need an ECU update, etc. Buy the bike for the engine, not what it could be. Just change the muffler. It takes a lot of money to make major gains in an engine. Save the money on bling items or suspension

Somewhere, Motojitsu is rolling his eyes.
I have a Kawa 650 20' with a full Akrapovic system without a Db.killer. It's sound fantastic. With a tune i won 10ps.
P.S. it pops 👌

Did u finance or buy it in cash. Bc if you own it the. Insurance shoukdnt be more than $60 a month
Don't buy this exhaust, go for a SC or mivv
how much is insurance
Intake on my versys is louder than the exhaust. Woooooosh
Same lol. I have a ninja 650
Time to invest in some sound panels in the garage
Was hoping to see a dyno session for a true before and after comparison.
Now a aftermarket exhaust now add ecu and cold air intake and put her in a Dyno n see how fast she goes
