Nice review! I own the MY23 SMLR with 19" wheels. I agree with you conclusion and it truly brings a huge smile to my face every day. Not even sad, that I didn't wait for the upgrade, as it is more expensive here in Denmark with our insane car taxes. The MY24 would have cost me £5.000 more. My next car will be the Polestar 4.
I wanted to buy this car last year. I got pain in my right knee when it leaned on the middle console during the test drive. You are lucky that your left leg which has more freedom for positioning is on that side. I even test drived a second time to really try to find a comfortable sitting position. I own a Tesla Y now. But my heart keeps bringing me back to watch Polstar 2 videos.
I understand entirely. My solution was to push back the seat a bit further than normal so your knee is resting on the lower portion of the console, rather than the upper lip.
My single motor long range arrived this morning. I took the 20 inch wheels and I really cant find any difference with the ride compared to my dual motor C40 on 20 inch wheels. Maybe I am just used to the Volvo so I dont feel the suspension is compromised. Went over a variety of roads today and all was fine. The 20 inch wheels gives it a better looking stance (IMHO), so I am glad I went with them. The only thing on the car that bothers me is that there is only one cup holder upfront without opening the centre console. But it just means the wife stays home more…..
I just luv the colour, the mags and the grill section. Ive had my PS2 for around 6 months and it makes me smile. That new model makes me wonder whether I need to trade in already?
Well done. As a person that has both model years, you hit on all the important points and differences. The 2024 MY is superior and I wish I held out for it for my first Polestar 2.
Great review! I am very pleased with my 2023 Polestar 2. I actually prefer the look of the front grill more than on this new model. I’m sure I would probably prefer the rear wheel drive though.
The old front grille made the car look more sporty and a design feature, the flat plastic panel looks like an afterthought and numb irrespective of the technology it contains. The other improvements to performance and charging are welcome.
I totally agree. Not a fan of the new grill. My budget would allow to me to either go for a MY24 Single/Standard/Pilot or the old model used in Single (maybe even dual)/Long/Pilot/Plus. I'm leaning rather towards the second option.
@@onlyonermf Hmm not sure if this is true although it may be different in each region. This option is definitely a thing for the special edition model BST 230. but nor for regular MY24? no
I don't own a ev _ yet! Living in Denmark, the cars are so expensive - Take the costprise right out of the factory - then ad 180% onto of that to the government !!! However visiting Scotland recently, we /wife and I) rented a Polestar. I had never driven an EV before, but after ten seconds I didn't even think it was an EV - We simply enjoyed the ride. It was such a thrill to drive and yes! This will be the car that I'm buying next 👍🏼 Watching you presentation even made me more convinced that this is the car for us.
What a well done review, giving us all the information we need as well as a personal, emotional component along with lovely visuals of the countryside. I'll be in the market for a new EV next year and torn between the P2 and i4. I am (was?) a BMW fan but I don't know if I can tolerate the ridiculous grille. The Polestar just looks so much cleaner and refined.
Thank you very much for watching and for posting such a nice comment. We have done a triple test with the (older) Polestar 2, BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3 if that’s any help for you?
I've gone for the 2024 single motor long range, both packs with Nappa leather. For the same price the BMW was 200 km less range, pretty much the same standard of fit and finish (except non leather seats) no frunk (which is ideal for the charging cables, especially when full of luggage on a road trip). The Google integration is fantastic too, especially since I have a Pixel phone and Google home devices in the house. Being able to "Hey Google, ready the car" from the house or wherever I am 15 minutes before getting in it is a good feature.
Great review discussing the differences between the new and old model. We have the Launch edition 4wd model, and drive it 30 000 km per year. Super pleased. Its excellent for towing my trailer with two motorcycles on it. Considering a second car now and another PS2 is likely. There has been a few software niggles, but we are covered by Volvos excellent dealer network, hand the car in and get rental from them (free). Because of the niggles we got £500 of free charging and a year extended warranty. I can fully recommend the car.
Thank you for this comprehensive review! Such a pleasure to listen to your well-thought-out overview and personal thoughts! You have an enthusiastic new subscriber 😎
Great review, interestingly I am cross shopping the Polestar 2 with the BMW i4. Based in Sydney, so nearly all city based driving, I test drove both. I was surprised how well the Polestar 2 drove and made me feel special. The BMW drove well, but didn't connect with me like the Polestar did, I can't put my finger on what it is about the Polestar 2, except it does everything so well and put a smile on my face. The BMW objectively is better in some departments, but as a whole, I prefer the Polestar. BUT, and here is a BUT, I am in my 50's brought up with Brand snobbery, and even though ny heart is with the Polestar, I feel like I should buy the BMW based on outdated, but ingrained values! Talking about changing values, I feel more compelled to buy a Polestar due to the dealer experience. Polestar approach this very non-traditionally, nothing a problem, just conversations, no attempt to sell on the day, no follow up calls chasing a decision.... BMW on the other hand fit the old stereo type of what the car sales industry is, sales men, do almost anything to get the sale, don't really care what is best for me, they smell a sale and go for the kill........ Expectations are changing all head and most heart say Polestar, my dichotomy, brand snobbery is that voice still in my head....................................
Thanks for the comprehensive review. I'm eagerly awaiting for my Polestar 2 to arrive. I had ordered the previous model a couple of weeks before MY 24 was announced, and I was lucky enough still to be able to cancel that and order the new one. It's going to be my first full EV, I'm currently driving a plugin hybrid Mini Countryman, and it's always such a disappointment when I run out of the battery around the town. BEV for the win!
That’s funny, I have made the exact same transition from the Countryman PHEV to the Polestar 2 LRSM MY24. I loved my Countryman, but the electric and consequently the combined range was truly atrocious. Let’s hope the P2 delivers better range IRL!
Similar for me but the XC40 the MY24 for this is very similar bump in spec, really like the PS2 but i need a slightly higher ride but love the styling hope you enjoy
Volvo has just seen a quadrupling of it's EV sales. I'm hoping Polestar will get a boost too - as EV sales have now reached the tipping point IMHO. Can't wait to see the Polestar 3 on sale in the 27 countries where Polestar sells the Polestar 2. Polestar has a great product future line up of vehicles. Polestar should allow customers to buy the yellow seat belts in all their versions - they just look great IMHO.
Polestar 4 may be the big seller IMO. What I don't like is it doesn't follow the Volvo baes that the other Polestar's do and is built on a Zeekr001 framework. But if that's OK with most, then it's fine. It'll still be tuned and customized to Polestar's specs.
I have a 23 plate 350kw version - love it. But the price reductions, when faced with appalling depreciation are unacceptable. Thank god I purchased mine through my company - year one write off.
I have 19's on a MY22 SMSR, and they are perfect. Agree about the FWD, you do notice it pulling and have to grip the wheel accelerating out of corners. The traction goes sometimes too. But generally it handles great. >50000 kms now and zero issues.
Getting rid of quality leather in luxury cars is nothing more than cost cutting dressed up as ‘sustainability’. The smell and feel of quality leather is without equal.
Great review. My 2024 long range single is being delivered on Sept 01. I have been driving my dual motor Volvo C40 now for a year - love the car but the range is not good. Held out until the 2024 Polestar was available, as I needed to get over 300 miles on a trip that i do once a month. I would never go back to an ICE now. I charge 95% at home during off peak, so they are cheap as chips to run. Love the look and quality of the Polestar. Also went for 20 inch wheels as it adds to the looks of the car. My C40 runs beautifully on 20 inch with the same platform, so I probably wont feel much difference.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to write a comment. I am sure you will love the car when you get it, and I too am a fan of teh Volvo, although I prefer the XC40.
Great review! I always enjoy your videos! I agree with you on the Polestar 2! There's something emotional about this car that draws me to it! I test drove a dual motor version a few months ago and I did enjoy it but it was only a 30 min drive without the salesperson. I wasn't a fan of the sparse display though. I am currently driving a BMW X4M but looking to switch to an EV. I'll wait to drive the MY version of the P2! Thanks again!
Thanks for this review and the one about the Ioniq 6. It's funny you should say that the ride on the Polestar is firmer than on the Ioniq. I just drove the Ioniq and found the suspension hard, even if the ride is very composed on a smooth surface. You were right to say that the Ioniq is for long distance cruising (with limited luggage). In comparison, the Polestar is better suited for short distance trips and being more compact is more at ease in the city. Main problem of the Polestar remains the ICE platform. Hopefully, the next generation will benefit from a dedicated BEV platform like it's bigger siblings. Until then, the Ioniq is probably best in class. Looking forward to your "face to face" comparative video of those two. After your final verdict, we will know which one to put in a dream BEV garage, next to the Honda e.
From my experience, MY'22 SM LR, energy efficiency on motorway at steady speed with 'normal' throttle control (not hypermiling or drag-racing) is 18kWh/100Km or 29kWh/100 miles in continental europe where speed limits are higher than UK. This allows you to drive 260 miles (415Kms) on a charge (100% motorway). I wouldn't say it isn't suitable for long distance cruising.
Another excellent review. I am hoping to be able to afford an electric car soon. The 2 rear wheel appeals but the thing making me ponder whether a model y is better value is the space, and charging network. But your comment about the emotional pull is really interesting. I see a Polestar and feel 'wow' but Tesla and I just don't feel much at all! Keep them coming.
And this is my point. Tesla made electric cars “normal” in most people’s eyes. They need to be credited for showing that an EV is just like any other car but powered by a different means of fuel, that’s all. But now we have many more cars other than Tesla, EVs that wear BMW badges, Porsche badges, Lotus badges, Mercedes badges and Ford badges. EVs can now appeal to the heart, and that is where Tesla feels a bit “detached” for me. They are very competent, but not very desirable from an emotional point of view. Yes, the Model Y is very spacious, but then so is a warehouse in Solihull. I wouldn’t want to live in it. Take a look at our review of the Model Y against the Volvo XC40 and BMW iX1 and you’ll see what I mean. Thank you for watching and taking the time to send us such a lovely comment. Plenty more videos to come, so stay tuned!
Great review. I really like the styling of the Polestar 2, and the range is impressive. I don't like the air vents though! I do think that EV manufacturers are missing a trick with glass roof and not having a sunroof or sun screen/blind, as well as not having enough physical buttons. I have an EQA Premium, and I make daily use of the sunroof, the blind when it's too sunny, and the physical buttons for the climate control. I don't even have to look I know where the buttons are now. But no car is perfect you have to go with the features that are most important and what you can do without. Good call on the road noise. I had 20 inch wheels on my previous car (E-Class) and with 19s on the EQA there is a noticeable reduction in tyre rumbling underneath. Funny how an inch can make a difference.
Good review! Lovely looking car, particularly in that colour. I’ve seen the Ioniq 6 on the road, and that flattened tail - hmm! The BMW? I know the grill is a part of their look, but it’s a bit much. The Polestar wins for looks, but I ended up with an XC40, because I found the interior a bit confining. That said, I hope the updated Polestar 2 is a big success, and wouldn’t it be a great platform as an estate like the V60?
Nice review, thanks! I just sold my M23 awaiting the P3 delivery this summer. Can’t wait 😀Regarding the infotainment system, did you know the horizontal line at the bottom is a “home” button giving you 4 big tiles to your most used functions? They update themselves, no need to customize.👍
Excellent review! Fully agree that the brand, mission and vision is very important to current and future generations. Volvo (Sweden) is the only company (yes yes it’s owned by parent Geely) with a proper and transparent vision which gains my trust (yes I drink their kool-aid). Tesla doesn’t have vision just $$$$. The rest are just dipping their feet in EV and not willing to commit fully.
I love your reviews - my favourite channel for EV info. However, I always find the volume an issue in your videos - sometimes loud, other times inaudible. May I make a suggestion? When in the driver's seat you move the lapel microphone to your left shirt collar, so the volume doesn't disappear when turning to address the back seat mounted camera.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Yes, audio issues have been plaguing us for a while, so thanks for the advice and I’ll give it a go.
Got a Polestar and ID5 as preference for new Company car. Would love to know what you and others think is the better option. Looking to take delivery on 2024 end of year model
Polestar without a doubt. The ID.5 is a decent enough car, but never feels special in the way that the Polestar does. The Polestar is better to drive, looks better, feels premium, and has a strong message of design with sustainability whilst still running some great tech. The Volkswagen feels very bland in comparison in our opinion, and the technology just isn't as good as what the Swedish brand offers. Hope that helps, and let us know what you go for. In the meantime thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
The Polestar 2 looks good on the road. I was favouring the EV6/ Ioniq5 previously - the Hyundai looks quite meh IRL, whilst the EV6 isn't so bad. Howver I've always like the clean lines and angles of the Polestar. Teslas look decent from the back, but the fronts are ugly particularly the model 3. I've been mulling over the EV, particularly as I wont' be able to install the home charger that I thought I could, but the improved range on the 24MY long range means that i may be able to get away with charging once a fortnight for my usual commutes.
We test drove PS2, Kia EV6 and Volvo C40 and went for C40. Polestar came in really close. EV6? ... I could not get comfortable in it. Had teh feeling that the head rest pushed my head forwards.
It looks very uncomfortably to operate a touch schreen placed to your left side, when you obviously are righthanded ! Are British people mostly lefthanders, since your cars are RHD ? Very good review as usual BTW ;)
I could possibly see this for a future purchase although I was very put off by your mention of "vegan" leather". I looked on the polestar site and was relived to see Nappa leather is on the options list.
The "big wheel" trend, which has a solid aesthetic basis, is blurring into the "clown shoe" look, which this car is an expression of. Also, whilst not generally a fan of fakery, I do like a grill on a car, even if it doesn't need one.
Great review, definitely going to consider the Polstar 3 for my next car. Have a 2021 S60 B5 currently. Random question, what watch are you wearing? Hamilton?
Have you seen our latest Sneak Peek on the Polestar 3? I get a lot of questions about my watch, it’s an MHD Watches CR1. This is a company founded and run by Matthew Humphries, ex-chief designer of Morgan Motor Company who designed the Morgan AeroMax and the re-introduced 3 Wheeler from a few years ago. Take a look at them. Lovely timepieces, all limited in numbers and all with a motorsport or classic car theme behind the design.
I live in Australia and have been waiting for this new model to come out (and also new Tesla 3 which is due soon too) before purchasing. The thing that frustrates me with nearly all car reviews is that you’re often not comparing apples with apples. In Australia the P2 with the same range and features as the T3 is around $15,000 AUD more and this should be more prominently mentioned in these reviews
First of all, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Whilst I appreciate that markets differ around the world, we can only really compare the car's price here in the UK otherwise our videos would be even longer! However, we compare cars that compete in the same market segment, in this case the compact executive saloon where the Polestar 2 competes with the Tesla Model 3, BMW i4 and Hyundai Ioniq 6. If Tesla offer their car at a substantially lower price than Polestar, then perhaps that is a feather in the cap for Tesla? Either way, we would find it difficult to comment on every market that the cars are sold in. But thank you for your comment, and for raising the point.
My personal opinion, the drive dynamics, and finish quality of the P2 justifies the higher price tag over the Model 3. The Tesla feels like an EV version of a Camry. Which is not a bad thing. But the Polestar has a better driving position, cabin materials and even having a display behind the steering wheel makes a difference. Plus, the car doesn't overload you with information like the Model 3 does.
Why in 3 videos upload in last 3 days about 2024 Polestar 2, by 3 UK channels (Fully Carged Show, cinch and AutoEV), none show one image from display with the consumptiom? It's some brand imposition?
The cars had been used in track for engineering purposes before arriving on the press launch, and so the consumption figures weren’t an accurate reflection of real world.
I own the 23MY LRSM. I’m too irresponsible for the power of the dual motor😂. Especially on these beautiful curvy German roads🤤.We have two cup holders, the second one is just awkwardly positioned in the center armrest 😂. Luckily, we don’t use them much. I miss the front grill on the 24MY. It gave the squat a serious, aggressive look. Don’t like the flat fronts that are out now, despite the increased range. Only thing I like about the 24MY is the rear wheel drive. 🏎️💨
Make the door handles flush. Too bad about the center tunnel still being there. I went with the Ioniq 6 instead, as much as I would've loved Polestar 2 for Android Automotive.
Great in-depth review. I had the 2023 model out for a few hours for a test drive and i’m coming from a F56 MINI. Really comfortable and so easy to drive, the Car hides it weight very well and my biggest worry would it be fun to drive - yes. Maybe not MINI fun but still fun. The acceleration was just silly it left Cars in it wake and took of instantly. Map and controls and buttons what you’d expect from Volvo. If felt quality built not one rattle. And remember this is the non facelift one i had so if they have improved it well even better. Car i had wasn’t even the performance but had most of the options so was nearly £50k and that’s a lot of money for a Car, well for me anyway.
Love your vids btw, plus you have a very similar outlook and view of cars to me, must be similar age 😅 So moving from model 3 and choice narrowed down to C40 twin core, polestar 2 SM long range or EQA 250+ Love your opinion 😊 Btw does the single cup holder stay on the 24 model? Love the look of the polestar but looking driving enjoyment, range and as you say, look back when you walk away
Polestar, Volvo then Mercedes. In that order. All great cars (the Mercedes was a surprise how good it was) but I’d have the Polestar 2 before it and the C40. The only issue with the C40 for me was lack of rear room. Great car to drive though, but it would take second place for me. Thank you for watching and taking the time to write a nice comment.
I test drove the car, because from the looks i really liked it, but: very stiff uncomfortable ride. The pilot assist always tries to kill you, because in a curve it suddenly lets go straight. There is no intelligent speed assist, meaning the speed of the ACC will not be adjusted to the recognized speed limit. All in all: looks nice, but thats it.
lack of HUD is an show killer, too bad since the prototype at the Auto Salon in Geneva had it, then came the semi conductor crisis but they apparently decided again bringing it back
I’m considering a Polestar 2 and your video is really useful in helping me with that decision. I can see the updated rear wheel drive is a better option than the original in many ways Question: do I need the LR … I’m retired and mostly have days out within 200 miles and if I do a long journey I rarely drive more than 150 miles before stopping and am not all that bothered how long it takes to charge … my stops are a minimum of 30 minutes. If I bought new there’s a £5k saving between Standard and LR. Thanks
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Given your situation, I’d suggest buying the standard range car. It will give you more than enough range for what you need. The only time you might find yourself needing more is if you don’t have the time (or can’t find a charger) and need to return without charging. Otherwise, the money saved will buy you a lot of electric miles! The cars drive brilliantly irrespective of what model, and you can get a decent spec on the standard range car for your budget. Hope this is helpful and once again, I appreciate your kind words.
After testing the P2 in early 2022 it still has the daily “pinch points” that turned me off it originally. Centre vents that don’t really provide decent airflow, manual controls on the console that are obstructed by the drive selector, the cup holder location, no HUD option, the neoprene seats that leave that ‘clammy’ feeling in hot weather and the dark interior lining. I’m assuming the App that goes with the car is still rubbish? Hopefully at least they have fixed the connectivity issues. It still remains an EV based on an ICE platform. Any EV that you open the frunk by using a manual bonnet lever isn’t trying hard enough. A thorough review thank you. Means I don’t need to try the 2024 Polestar 2 now. Oh, and please avoid saying “Okay Google” in your reviews. The only thing that stopped my devices going nuts was your accent.
No issues with the seats in my P2 on hot days. The manually opening latch I have never considered to be hindrance and I certainly wouldn’t dismiss a car on that basis, but maybe that’s just me
Just one minor nitpick @13:05 Android Auto isn't available, even though the platform runs on Android Automotive. This is somewhat frustrating as this means the iPhone users have more practicality than actual android phone users!
Oh why oh why did they stop making the VW E-Up/Seat Mii. If we need to go electric then churning out unaffordable cars like this is not what many people need, especially in this cost of living crisis. Cars are becoming "software" on wheels and having watched their development for the last few years I think I am leaning towards keeping my ICE car until it dies a natural death.
For me , I. Wish they had extended thf lenth for more rear seat room, it’s wrong that no motorised sunscreen for the roof is not available with the car , things I still wish they offered, a lighter roof lighting with lighter trim seats, better rear entry lights , and an optional rear wiper/wash , the other final thing with the interior it needs a bit more bling, more ambient light, a easy connection by the rear view for dash cams, I still wish they added a pin to drive for troubled neighbourhoods as well as prevent accidental child activation form an unlocked and I range key fob on the side . , thf seat and cup holder needs a redesign , it’s an oversight , that badly needs addressing , and with the 4x4 I still wish you could select smaller. Wheels. With the mk2 I feel a couple of extra inches wide, and 4.5 longer may be better but it needs to address the other points as well. Final thoughts software bugs , my hertz rental stopped minutes after pickup , I’m not the only one to have issues with us models let’s hope they can fix them soon
@@AutoEVa refresh can have extended length added it happen a few times i. The last 20 years ,being a battery Chassis be hard to a few more inches and add a module
Great - except it is based on an IC vehicle (compromises weight, rear space with redundant drive shaft tunnel) and you need to add the Pilot and Plus pack to match the standard offers of many of its competitors. So a need to add at least £6k (ignoring the ‘Performance Pack’.
Not sure why people keep complaining about the tunnel. Polestar utilises it with putting batteries there, making the foot wells deeper than a built-from-the-ground-up EVS that have a higher floor, thus more cramped legs at an acute angle. Both have their pros and cons
@@NitroGhost124 re: "Not sure why people keep complaining about the tunnel..." A: people are dumb like the whole of Planet Earth just witnessed in the 24 hours news cycle reporting the dramatic end to "super dumb" Stockton Rush and his carbon fiber Submersible 12,000 feet beneath the North Atlantic. thus, to "compensate" for their dumbness and "stroke their Egos" (and make themselves feel better) what they do is simply REPEAT what they've heard other dummies say. yeah, what never occurs to them (as they repeat this falsehood over and over) is that the very first person to propagate this MYTH this was COMPLETELY MISTAKEN (ref: John McElroy Autoline Detroit).
It depends on what you are looking for in the car. If you're planning on carrying 5 people all the time, I totally agree. Otherwise, it's very spacious for the size of the car. The model 3 by comparison is about 10 centimetres longer.
Re intro: Yeah but if you don’t say good things you won’t get another car to review. Wonder which might be a stronger motivator? Getting warm fuzzies for objective, fearless reviews or putting food on the table and getting invites to travel business class to review cars?
Wow….you really have no idea! I’m sorry, but that isn’t what we do. If you watch many of our reviews where we criticise cars very heavily such as our Lexus review….or Tesla Model Y, or Audi…. And we pay for our own travel.
Yh whatever. Polestar 2 is pure class. Teslas are common as fuk which makes this car stand out. Its better inside and out and maybe 1 second slower. Can do 0-60 in like 4.1 seconds.
To be fair, I only comment on efficiency when I am able to try the car over a long distance or long period of time. Unfortunately on this occasion, I simply wasn’t able to. And I happen to like the Cortina.
Currently getting about 3.4-3.6 miles/KWh in my 2023 MY dual motor giving up to around 270 miles (WLTP around 300) so pretty decent. Updated model should be better. There’s too much focus on efficiency with EVs which is why we have examples designed by machines rather than good old fashioned engineers and designers. Efficiency is important, but not the sole deciding factor (for me).
Please please please stop referring to vinyl interior finishers as “Vegan Leather” there is no such thing - it’s PVC , plastic or Vinyl just like we used to get in the 1960’s and 1970’s and it’s not recyclable like leather or wool based fabrics I like the PS2, but also I would love to own a Jaguar IPace but when you compare that car to all of its rivals you really wonder how Jaguar justifies its pricing - I used to JLR prices having been a serial Land and Range Rover buyer since the 1990’s but after a 3 day test drive of the IPace I really couldn’t see why it costs so much and it’s starting to lag behind technically as well as not being particularly efficient. You don’t mention the real world consumption of the PS2 but I suspect it won’t be much different to the Jaguar.
Having done a 200 mile journey in a PS2 and then jumping straight into a Tesla Model 3 - the Tesla is the better driving car - shows it is just a subjective thing like many.
Those are Swedish fobs. Some people have this silly obsession with making something designed in Sweden to be "Chinese" just based on who owns the brand. Blame Volvo for the fobs, not that it is, in your minds, "Chinese."

@31:10 Agreed with looking back at your car. I owned both the M3P and MYP in separate years and never looked back at either one after I parked. Fast cars for sure but forgettable. This P2 is a nice design and it sounds so much more fun in RWD form.
I have the launch model Polestar 2 and can confirm that it rides great on the 19" wheels.
I'm saving for a 2024 Polestar 2 LR RWD. Far and away the best EV on the market.
Thankfully they have got rid of the old tacky, front grille. I have now ordered this updated version. Love it.👍👍

As a person that has both model years, you hit on all the important points and differences. The 2024 MY is superior and I wish I held out for it for my first Polestar 2.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
You can choose the old grill with the 24 model, so said Bristol Polestar
Not sure who Bristol Polestar are? However as new cars are ordered online direct from Polestar there is no option to select the old grille.
This option is definitely a thing for the special edition model BST 230. but nor for regular MY24? no
Doesn't the new grill have better aerodynamics?
On second thought, you have convinced me the PS2 should be the one. Like the Honda e back in the days. Thank you and bravo!
cracking pub behind you at the start by the way! Thanks for the review
This will be the car that I'm buying next 👍🏼
Watching you presentation even made me more convinced that this is the car for us.
I had the opportunity to drive one from Hertz, all i can say its i fall in love with the car.
you are the first reviewer I have heard call this the Liftback Style... Which I agree with 10,000000%
What a well done review, giving us all the information we need as well as a personal, emotional component along with lovely visuals of the countryside.
Thank you for your kind comment, and for taking the time to watch the review, and subscribe. I hope you enjoy our other reviews.
Me too! Mine has been on a ship since the 31st of may… I hope it will be here in Italy anytime soon 🤞
You won’t be disappointed 🙂
@@davidemariarossi8619 Same date for me. May 31st. If it's the same ship you'll get yours sooner, since I live in Finland...
I think Polestar has a very strong and bright future.
Getting rid of quality leather in luxury cars is nothing more than cost cutting dressed up as ‘sustainability’. The smell and feel of quality leather is without equal.
Last time i looked and it was a while ago you can buy a sun shade for the sunroof
Stunning proportions!
I love this car and actually have one on order!
Thanks for another great review.
Love the look of these , but will never be able to afford one !
Polestar ❤
I love your reviews - my favourite channel for EV info. However, I always find the volume an issue in your videos - sometimes loud, other times inaudible. May I make a suggestion? When in the driver's seat you move the lapel microphone to your left shirt collar, so the volume doesn't disappear when turning to address the back seat mounted camera.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Yes, audio issues have been plaguing us for a while, so thanks for the advice and I’ll give it a go.
This is a car for real car lovers! Tesla is a shell with a screen and speed. Polestar is a real car!🚘❤️😁
There's a second cupholder in the armrest (how could you miss that!!!! ????)
Ordered the Polestar LRSM after having the ID5 for a couple of days. Completely agree with your comments about both. Really enjoy your reviews. 👍
I have one on order, 2 months to go!
I'm emotionally attached to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta he's driving behind.
@@garethnoble11 I didn't get the PS2 MY24 in the end. I actually prefer the old 'fake grill' look over new front.
It looks very uncomfortably to operate a touch schreen placed to your left side, when you obviously are righthanded !
Are British people mostly lefthanders, since your cars are RHD ?
Very good review as usual BTW ;)
If airbus pilots can operate an aircraft using side sticks with their non-dominant hand, then touching a screen isn’t an issue, for me anyway.
You set off my ‘24 Polestar 2 google 😂😂 it was waiting for your command.
I could possibly see this for a future purchase although I was very put off by your mention of "vegan" leather". I looked on the polestar site and was relived to see Nappa leather is on the options list.
I still love it.
Only literally a handful of used PP for sale in the UK and Polestar UK test drive page out of action. What's the issue?
Still don’t get why you get wireless charging but CarPlay has to be wired
@@AutoEV thanks
Classy looking car.
The front grill looks mutch nicer. If Polestar dosent want a grill, way make place for it in the bumper? Strange..
Well I do like my 2023 LRDM but it could do with a bit more real world range.
What color is this?
Make the door handles flush. Too bad about the center tunnel still being there. I went with the Ioniq 6 instead, as much as I would've loved Polestar 2 for Android Automotive.
What’s the ride like on those 20” wheels?
Im guessing you haven't watched all of the review then???

Love your vids btw, plus you have a very similar outlook and view of cars to me, must be similar age 😅
So moving from model 3 and choice narrowed down to C40 twin core, polestar 2 SM long range or EQA 250+
Love your opinion 😊
Btw does the single cup holder stay on the 24 model?
Love the look of the polestar but looking driving enjoyment, range and as you say, look back when you walk away
Polestar, Volvo then Mercedes. In that order. All great cars (the Mercedes was a surprise how good it was) but I’d have the Polestar 2 before it and the C40. The only issue with the C40 for me was lack of rear room. Great car to drive though, but it would take second place for me.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to write a nice comment.
@@AutoEV cheers for your opinion, will take a second test drive of the polestar before pressing the button on the C40 😃
Thank you for your advice
I like the model. But the outlook on the front screen makes it feel cramped.
Time for Polestar to have 40/20/40 rear seat split.
it has a 'sky hatch' in the middle of the rear seat behind the armrest
Neoprene (reused plastic) seats must be fitted with a ventilation option for the warmer days,,,,otherwise stick to the natural textile pls.
If the word 'nice' didn't exist this guy wouldn't have anything to say!
Pilot Pack does not feature wireless phone charging. Only the plus pack does. A bit cheap minded?
Great looking car very classy sadly out of my league but nevertheless very nice and a nice alternative to the usual suspects.
No, Polestar should leave the design language on the Polestar 2 exactly as it is. By far and away the best looking car of any type on the road.
it beats the competition now. completely.
Still has the silly vanity gear shifter, which leaves no room for a 2nd cup holder.
Keep in mind this was a facelift, not a new car.
Apart from all that, you think it’s alright.
@@AutoEVa refresh can have extended length added it happen a few times i. The last 20 years ,being a battery Chassis be hard to a few more inches and add a module

Make the mobile app start to function normally and drop the weight on the car and it's perfect
Will miss the old grill look, it gave the car a smug, shyte-eating grin
The interior is too hampered by the legacy layout from the ICE cars. Shame too, in every other way it's a fine looking car.
Seal has two wireless chargers.
Yh whatever. Polestar 2 is pure class. Teslas are common as fuk which makes this car stand out. Its better inside and out and maybe 1 second slower. Can do 0-60 in like 4.1 seconds.
Back seat and footwell space are too small ....and interior space overall isn't great
It’s an electric cortina it’s boxy and why did you not mention the efficiency you were getting
I’ve got one and efficiency is not bad… around 15-16 kWh in the summer. Around 19 in the winter. SLR version…
Android Auto is not working there, but you don't needed that, because whole system is Android Automotive or something..
Please please please stop referring to vinyl interior finishers as “Vegan Leather” there is no such thing - it’s PVC , plastic or Vinyl just like we used to get in the 1960’s and 1970’s and it’s not recyclable like leather or wool based fabrics
I like the PS2, but also I would love to own a Jaguar IPace but when you compare that car to all of its rivals you really wonder how Jaguar justifies its pricing - I used to JLR prices having been a serial Land and Range Rover buyer since the 1990’s but after a 3 day test drive of the IPace I really couldn’t see why it costs so much and it’s starting to lag behind technically as well as not being particularly efficient.
Still unattractive to me, they need to restyle better, for What they are charging
Same low-grade, Chinese-junk-looking, fobs?...Or have they finally upgraded them to look and feel as good as the car does?
No, same crap plastic fobs. Although you do get a smaller “Smart” key now.
Those are Swedish fobs. Some people have this silly obsession with making something designed in Sweden to be "Chinese" just based on who owns the brand. Blame Volvo for the fobs, not that it is, in your minds, "Chinese."
@@benjaminsmith2287 "Chinese-junk-looking" means just that, Chinese-junk-looking. They can be designed anywhere, Alaska included. They still look how they look and, as such, evoke China, not Sweden, irrespective of what those tall, blonde vikings wanted them to evoke. Myself, waiting for my car, I already ordered some fob covers designed and made in...China! (...you people should REALLY stop jumping at any opportunity of virtue signalling you can get...It's obnoxious...).
@@nimbuskhannk627 This car is a Swedish product. What does China have to do with this? China can produce high quality or junk just like any other country. Your bias is showing.
@benjaminsmith2287 Yes, the Chinese shops all around my country are full of high-quality products. (...Really, stop it. I officially recognize you as full of virtue...).
too expensive for us, and why buy this over a Ionic6. Thor hammer eh.
mentioned that 3 times.
Nearest service centre for me 14 hour drive hard pass
Do you know that you can service a Polestar to any Volvo dealership?
@WiZe1972 that is a lie.
@@steverichard2786 Don’t know where you live but in Europe, every Volvo dealership accepts Polestar
Ohh come you people
Show cars that the average person in uk can afford
😊
You’ll need to be watching next week’s episode then……
A chinese car: a no-go for me...
Chinese built only. The car is created and spec'd, tested, finished in Sweden.
Nope…CMA platform is a huge negative….very sad…don’t love cars as much as appreciate practicality…
The center console is HUGE…
Not that I can afford it…but if I do…nope..not for me
@31:10 Agreed with looking back at your car. I owned both the M3P and MYP in separate years and never looked back at either one after I parked. Fast cars for sure but forgettable.
This P2 is a nice design and it sounds so much more fun in RWD form.
