Thank you Dr Chung for pushing for physical therapy for the pelvic floor muscles.
It is unbelievable how many muscles are involved with having a bowel movement.
And after several surgeries all these muscles can get confused.
    Breathing is also important.

God Bless you Dr. Albert Chung ! I am so grateful in sharing your wisdom and medical knowledge to the viewers especially about the anal spasms. Most physicians ignore it and only want you to agree to useless surgery. You are truly a patient advocate. The physical therapy exercises are priceless ! Yes, emotional issues negatively aggravate the hemorrhoids. Louse L Hay has good affirmations to deal with them.

Perfect advice! You don't need to see a physiotherapist multiple times a week. I see my physio once a month, she gives me the stretches, exercises and self massage instructions, and I stick to it. That's probably the most important thing, stick with your home exercises!

I'm so glad you posted this! I recently did five sessions with a pelvic floor physical therapist. My insurance wouldn't pay for it so I paid out of pocket and it was in home, best investment I ever made! She worked with me on all of the things you spoke about! I have internal hemorrhoids which were banded with moderate success, and an external hemorrhoid that flares up occasionally. My other problem was chronic constipation largely due to uterine prolapse and pelvic floor issues. The PT worked miracles, now pooping regularly and normally! 🎉 I'm continuing my exercises and massage techniques daily to keep things moving!

Hello Dr! Thank you for all your wonderful advice! I bought pranicura based on your recommendation! I have a bleeding hem at the Anus area. Not sure if fissure too but feel the hem. Will pranicura shrink it and heal it? I feel like directions with it speak a lot about a fissure and less about hems. Hoping you will respond thank you!

Doc thank you for everything! I saw a new GI dr and he prescribed me hyoscyamine even though these were not my physical conplaints! I thought it was gonna be a myscle relaxer im so frustrated. Anyway how do I know or how can we assess whether the tightness and constriction is caused by hemmheroids, inflammation or pelvic floor dysfunction? Im in so much pain daily and its so hard to have a bowel movement. Any thoughts?

I find that walking and squats help alot, being that I sit at a desk 40-50 hours a week. Also diaphragmatic exercises not just the diaphragm but the pelvic floor as well. Think of your gut like a barrel. It’s got a top AND a bottom. Pranicura is a miracle worker but I also use a salve with beeswax and propolis because of its anti-microbial properties. Hydrate and soften your stools.

thankyou so much for making content. if possible please make a video on this topic: since in asian countries we normally clean our butthole with water ive always done it and as i grew older i also used to put a finger inside and wash out a bit. recently my finger's been going a little higher and i touch poop which leads to me scooping out small amounts of poop. once im done though it causes very little bleeding. is that normal? or should i not put my finger inside? is it normal to find poop up there?

If the pain and spasm is caused by tight pelvic muscles, Would kegel exercise make things worse? You mentioned how sitz bath is beneficial because it allows your muscles to relax, and i’d figure Kegel exercise would achieve the opposite and make things even tighter, no?

Hey if the fissures are healed and you still feel pain with the anus being tight hard, most likely you have to join a physical therapy with specialization in pelvic floor area. Muscles are tight, spasm now and then if you are feeling those, definitely give it a try .
