Thank you so much for your educational videos! They are very relatable, helpful and comforting. I’m in the process of figuring out exactly what is causing my bright red bleeding episodes. I’m only 30 years old and had to get a colonoscopy which came back normal. They didn’t even detect hemorrhoids. My MD is now referring me back to GI to have an exam. I had this feeling that my anal sphincter muscles were too tight even before watching this video. I’m a physical therapist assistant so I was overjoyed to hear you recommend a pelvic floor specialist. I’m going to take all the necessary steps my doctor recommends to figure out where the bleeding is coming from but I’m also now going to see if he can refer me to a pelvic floor specialist since I’ve been dealing with constipation since I was a child. Sorry for the long rant, but maybe someone out there can relate to my story. It’s such a process and really does interfere with your life. Thank you again for these videos. I’ve been watching a bunch of them back to back just trying to learn more. Keep up the great work! You are helping so many people ❤️

I’ve been taking salt baths, helps a lot but the best thing I found is the Prep H lidocaine spray…omg it’s the highest strength you can get other than Rx, it’s less messy than cream and long lasting!! One tip… spray on a tissue to apply because it stings a bit at first.

Also, has Dr. Chung made a video about scar tissue after surgery? I have a tiny raised bump where the abscess used to be, and my CRS has examined it and said it was good to go. It's scar tissue. It scared the soul out of me. How can you tell if you have another abscess or if it's just scar tissue? So many questions, and so few docs like Dr. Chung who are willing to answer them.

I think I get a condition called proctalgia fugax, at least I think that’s what the GI surgeon said when he touched a place that brought on severe pain. If I’m at work, I have to leave immediately as the pain is 9/10. On the occasion when it comes on, only prescription pain medication and a heating pad, stops the debilitating pain. I went one time and my anxiety was so out of control I never went back. I’m not sure if pelvic floor therapy will help with the spasms but I know it will probably help in many other areas of my busted up pelvic floor. I just can’t get past the fear of having the spasm and the extremely embarrassing area that has to be worked on😞😬😳 if the goal is to relax the muscles how will the debilitating anxiety allow that to happen? Thanks so much ❤️

I wish I saw this and learned more about my over-active anal sphincter that lead to my issues. I ended up getting surgery that led to getting anal stenosis. I always told people I thought it was my sphincter and they laughed me off.
Even as a 9 year old kid, my doctor had my mom insert half of an enema up my butthole multiple times a week to help with my constipation.
(I would tense up and try to "hold it in" from having anxieties about pooping.) Sigh.
I need to do pelvic floor exercises and therapy. Idk if it'll help much as I've already got anal stenosis on top of that.

😢 my OBGYN recommended pelvic floor therapy for me several years ago. I didn’t go because my insurance didn’t cover it.
Ended up having to get a sphincterotomy in 2023.
I wonder if it could’ve been avoided by having the therapy 😮

The problem might actually be the food you are eating, but thay won't be part of traditional medical teaching

Ironic this video comes up. My doctor said the same thing. He believes there is no wound. He went in with a camera. Now on to hypertonic pelvic muscle release exercise

Maybe this will be helpful for someone, I suffered with anal fissures for two years!!! OUCH.... HATED IT... I got a hold of the Pranicura cream that doctor Albert recommends, WOW what a difference!!! I felt like it strengthened everything up without going into too many details... I also noticed that I was having fissures when I was taking my allergy nasal spray "Flonase", I started digging in and doing detective work on the side effects of Flonase.... WELL..... It turns out that Flonase weakens the lining of your rectum!!!!!! I STOPPED taking Flonase right away and the fissures cleared up to NEVER RETURN!!!!!!!! WOW! How blessed I feel that God showed me that I was causing the problem! I might be sneezing with seasonal allergies, but I will take that any day over fissures! Dr. Chung helped me through a really dark period where I had such PAIN with my anal fissures I thought I would lose my mind!!! THANKS DOC for taking about things we only whisper about!!! we need to have frank conversations about bathroom health too!!! Pranicura is a groundbreaking product that really has more benefits than described!! BE WELL!

This interesting. I use Flonase too. But according to my understanding of the pharmacology of steroids is that using a steroid cream or ointment on the skin for prolonged time which is a quantitative variable to grasp since what is a long time anyway, can cause thinning of that piece of skin like the anal sphincter or your nose etc. it doesn’t do this systemically like you use steroid cream on your arm and the skin on your ear gets thin. Flonase uses a moderate to high strength steroid fluticasone in an aerosol vehicle that works topically in your nose and sinus and includes your eyes to a lesser degree. So I’m not sure if there is a correlation but I suppose there could be. My fissure occurs usually when I go off diet and eat stuff that causes large dry stool. My anal pressure or tone is really high so the internal sphincter is in locked position sometimes exaggerated by stress but sometimes just because that’s what it does. External sphincter is similarly toned. So once the skin tears it can’t heal because blood flow is cut off from that tonal pressure. By using nifedipine internally the internal sphincter relaxes more allowing time to heal the cut. I also use emuaid and 2.5 percent hydrocortisone and watch what I eat. If I can eat the right balance I use a stool softener and sits baths. If pain is too uncomfortable a bit of lidocaine. I have used and stopped Flonase because sometimes it irritates my throat or increased small capillary breakage in my nose causing some mild bleeding. I haven’t found a correlation to fissure in me but that doesn’t mean it means anything. If this works for you then that’s a plus. I would be interested if this happens to anyone else. We all respond differently to medicines. I cannot use pranicura or any mentholated product it just burns too much. Emuaid doesn’t and seems to accelerate healing. I also used dr wheatgrass with some benefit but not enough as well as Manuka honey. All it takes in one bad dump and it’s back. After it’s healed I continue nifedipine once daily at bedtime and will do this forever. Flare up I go back to twice or three times a day.

How long did it take pranicura to heal type fissure? Just purchased it myself but couldn't find much feedback other than here with the Dr

@@larrymarcus3176 I relate to everything you said, except for Flonase. Never heard of it before. But the diet and everything. I face the same thing. Could you please list the creams and gels you use separately. Hope it's not a problem. Thanks!

Nifedipine ointment .2 percent it’s prescription that has to be formulated by a compounding pharmacy most insurance plans don’t cover it. They use .1-.5 percent not sure if there is any advantage to higher dose. I use 2.5 percent hydrocortisone cream it’s also a prescription but 1 percent is over the counter. Emuaid max skin ointment is sold online by emuaid but some drug store like Walgreens have it. Lidocaine is otc as well preparation h has one with psuedoohedrine which is a vasoconstrictor most big pharmacies have their own generic for a few dollars less. You can also use tronolane which is like lidocaine a bit milder it comes in lots of forms in rectal creams like anusol and other brand names just read the ingredients these numb the nerves like when you go to dentist and they numb your mouth but it’s much less pronounced you still feel but the pain is much better tolerated. Graphic description- I don’t wipe I dab first with tucks or pre h pads they contain with hazel which can burn sometimes because they contain some alcohols thayers makes an alcohol free witch hazel super expensive but better/ then dab with ultra soft charmin. Hope this helps. By the way I had to figure this out on my own the doctors just wanted to use botulism or lis surgery. Nope not for me thank you. This doctor is the only one I’ve ever met who had the right perspective on this stuff he’s the real deal.

Please I need assistance and advice, I had hemorrhoid surgery 4months ago, some days I feel good down there and other days it’s one thing or the other, the most common I feel right now is that I get liquid poop leaking out my anus, really frustrating and it’s depriving me of leaving the house because some days just might be heavier than others, please is this normal and will it ever stop? I also feel like my anal hole has become too small to pass out poop properly. Please someone talk to me.
