    Hi kids
I have this attachment for a skid steer called a snatch pole.
It is basically a eight foot pole that extends in front of the skid steer for lifting objects up high.
Once you have it you will wonder how you lived without it.
It is very simple and easy to build.
(Riley has far better fabrication skills than I ever will.
Mercifully I only had to tack it together and my step son welded it for me...he is a real deal welder)
I have the plans for the one I built in Solidworks but I could export them to something you could import to Sketchem.
I can send you the drawings and export the model to a .stp file or something then you could easily modify it for the materials you have on hand.
    The stairs turned out fantastic.

Just as a heads-up for those stairs , the type of metal the steps are made out of are great for humans but bad for dogs , their claws can get caught in the holes and they can rip their claws out with it stuck in it , so you might want to add some outdoor carpeting on part of the steps just to give the dogs a path to walk safely on

    • @markmitchell457
      @markmitchell457 Год назад +6

Outdoor carpet is slicker than owl poop when frozen. I'd pass on that idea.

    • @ronblack7870

maybe aluminum checker plate over the stairs . you lose the holes .
      or lose the dogs.

Two of our dogs lost claws on the steps of the RV we bought to live in while our house was being built. One of them lost root and all and later died from the infection it caused. 😞 Unfortunately, the worst risk of snagging is going down the steps, which means their entire weight and momentum is working against them. Guaranteed injury.

As others have commented, the dogs will not like the stair tread. I know you have another stair inside that they use already. Thinking about how to solve this next challenge, how about horse mats cut into small lengths attached to each tread on the building side of the stairs. This way, the dogs' paws are protected, and the humans still have safe stepping areas. Happy solving this next challenge.

Mark's comment gave this thought: All of your videos could be bundled, and for a reasonable fee, put on dvds, a flash (thumb) drive, or an online download. Hours of very interesting, very informative and entertaining watching. Easily as much fun to watch (if not more) as much of the stuff on tv/netflicks, etc.
The design & manufacture of the four snow treads was one of my favorites. Also the battery management system for your off-grid power. Fixing the caterpillar D8 problems were nailbiting but so satisfying to see you get it running again - repeatedly. And your pleasant and humorous relationship with one another is so soothing and enjoyable to watch.
(I still think you could improve the snowblower by replacing the gasoline engine with an electric motor, taking up less space & allowing bulk out in front to move rearward, giving better clearance, less weight on front tires & more on rear tires. Eliminates need for v-belt clutch, but requires generator in truck, I suppose.)

Hi guys! And again congrats on little Riley? Or Cortney? Now that's a tight fit on the stairs!
Cant wait to see the finished product! Love your show. Been watching since the camper build. Sad to see her go!

I also have to commend Riley on the stringers! Even cutting out of wood, I can't get them that nice. Thumbs up on the stair case.

What a thrill to land on the Ambition Strikes channel. Riley's parents and grandparents are old friends and during our last visit, we heard all about thieir RUclips channel,. But you can't capture the energy and ingenuity of their projects and video quality without clicking on it. This is an only-in-America experience that will energize any DIYer. Thanks Riley & Courtney for sharing your unique lives with the world! Grandpa Harry is watching you! Christi and I are rooting for you, too.

Thanks so much! I will never forget the time I had to use my hat to bail water out of your sail boat until Uncle Rich could come rescue us. -Riley

Thanks for lots of fantastic videos! Thought I’d share a tip. I always use a 3M 7502 mask, with 3M 2138 filters for all grinding and welding. I think it’ll lessen the chances of getting lung cancer or whatever 😊 Good luck with all your projects!

As soon as you said "we're going to chain the stairs to the skid steer", I KNEW that was going to be a bad idea! LOL, but you still went slow, and mitigated the damage really well! Hell yeah! AWESOME progress y'all!

Amazing metal work Riley, just AMAZING! . The teamwork between the pair of you is OUTSTANDING. But the toughest job you will ever tackle will be here in a few months time. The way you both work together you will both rise to the challenge and in 18 years time or so you should have completed the project of raising a fine young adult. Keep it up and I can not wait to see the deck finished. Good luck for the future from Christopher in the U.K.
