I have both, and I have to say, I much prefer the turbo next nature. I have very flat, sort of wide feet, and the turbo’s are much lighter, flexible, and much more responsive in terms of energy return. The 39’s keep slipping at the heel, feel clunky, and are noticeably slower. The only thing the 39’s do better is the durability, but overall, the stability and bounce of the turbo’s easily win over the 39’s for me.
Yeah that is fair summary and thanks for doing the review based on what this Turbo actually is rather than wishing it was one of the older versions as many other reviews have somewhat annoyingly IMHO focused on. I have used both these a fair bit now - 180 miles in the Peg 39 and 135 in the Turbo. The Peg 39 is one I have only used (or rather thought I would want to) for easier runs but have taken it to a half marathon. I probably would say it is the firstly fully React road shoe have actually liked - perhaps as does not feel like a brick to me like say Zoom Fly 3 or Peg 37. The Turbo in my size (UK 13) is noticeably lighter than the Peg 39 and actually is pretty much the same weight as my Alphafly 2 so, in that sense, makes a decent lightweight "all rounder" trainer. I have used it for all sort of things - 16 mile steady pace on an off road old railway, hilly part road, part off road longish run, some 400m road reps, easy runs or just as a warm up shoe. OK those off road runs was when it was still very warm and dry but I think either shoe would be fine for light trails if not wet. If wet, your feet are going to get soaked straight away anyway so I might be a bit cautious using either for that now that the trails are getting softer and wetter again. The Turbo definitely seems to have softened up a bit and the initial "getting them on" issues have long since gone and I now can pretty much slip them on. The Turbo is a bit firmer and I thought has a lower to the ground feeling that say the Speed 3. Some days I like that, some days not so much. So actually been using both of those as well. Probably those there is also an element of the Turbo of running in a shoe when so many dismissed it as only a lifestyle shoe. Well it is a handy shoe if you need to run for the bus :)
I love a running shoe that looks good, that extra lifestyle versatility always a bonus haha. Think the Turbo Nature has ended up a bit underrated, but also not sure it’s good enough to really push as a top option either when you look outside Nike
Great review. I enjoy both shoes. I do think the new Turbo is underrated. I have never run in the OG. But I really like the slim lines and the less-is-more footprint of this shoe. Feels firmly connected to the road, but still soft enough. All our shoes don’t have to be cotton candy, do they? I’m starting to crave celery.
I am in US, I got to pay full price $120 plus taxes.. 😂. But Nike’s sale associates were great and find the exact color and size I wanted. That’s is priceless.
Hate to break it to you but they’ve been stably around 70$ in the resale market for over 3 months in many color ways, including the blue/white that I think you got
Wouldn’t you think recycled stuff should be cheaper for consumers, since the cost of good is lower for Nike. Yet they jack up the price to $150. So I go with the Pegasus 39, no recycle stuffs for cheaper.
Can pick them up for insane clearance prices right now and they are fantastic shoes at current prices. I somehow found the Pegasus nature for under 80 dollars !
Did you find the 35,36 to be a bit narrower than the 39, but still enough space for a nice fit? I switched from 35 to 39, and am wondering if it is only the material or if they truly are 1cm wider compared to the peg35… i could swear the heel cup is half a cm wider than in the 35… wish it was the exact same fit for me.
Ive gone through around 3 pairs of shoes a year and haven't found any as good as the Pegasus 36. The new turbos are heavy, the new pegasus 39 are stiff and clunky and make my feet numb. I found Brooks launch 9 are comparable but are a bit too wide for my feet. Ive tried a few other shoes and brands but I keep returning to 36's as they are light, responsive, and not stiff at all. Only downside is they don't last as long as some of the newer versions seem to
Nick it's not related to the video, but what is your cadence and stride length at marathon pace. We have the same running style (albeit I'm much slower) and I'm trying to figure out if I just need to accept I need to up my stride length to get some increased pace!

Got the 39 2 weeks ago. Love em. Good for all kinds of paces and the fit is wonderful

I just got the olive green Pegasus turbo next nature for 43 dollars from the Nike outlet absolutely worth it
Great review and comparison. I agree and love my Turbo Next when its used for its intent. Looks cool too!

I just got the blue colorway of the Pegasus 39 for US $100. Absolute bargain.
I got mine (Premium version - University Blue) for 59 euros only!!! 🤯🤯🤯 in Italy. last weekend
@@Kris_dh same for 66€ today… 😅

Copped the turbos at the Nike store for $32 so I bought two pairs and they will be my half marathon racing shoes and my up-tempo shoes
Nice. I just found my size at Burlington for $30 plus tax!
bought a pair of turbo next natures for 55 aud (35 usd), absolute steal

turbo in switzerland is still 200 :D@@ManningOWNsTeboww
I miss the 36. I could do track workouts in that version no problem.
I'm confused man, that shoe was so flat and lifeless

@@AshtrayHDlate I think the fit is a bit different but pretty similar. Tighter heel are but less pressure midfoot. Forefoot about the same.

@@bluelycanroc3682 agree! Maybe Brooks Hyperion 2023 is something to look at
As a sprinter, the old turbos were amazing. Worked for 120s up through 500s. Would the next nature be able to do the same?
Do you own a Streakfly for sprinting?
@@AshtrayHDlate I haven't had the luxury, but I heard from teammates that they aren't as snappy
Can't reccomend streakflys enough as a sprinter. However, I am considering picking these up to replace my streakflys once they're dead.
Should I get the next nature Pegasus or the vomero 16? Both have the same price. Which one would you recommend especially for running? Comfort wss.

Which walking shoe is better overall? Trainers are in a different category. I wouldn’t lift weights in these.
I love my pegasus 40
Very Comfortable and Stable "
What about pegasus 40 vs turbo NN? :)
Which would be better for a half marathon (not going tooo much for speed)
Both, nah shoes 😕

Your opinion is useless without a reason.
@@billymuffin3231 sorry for late reply: unnecessary big drops, feel a lack of midsole or just poor feeling when you try it
