Currently on a long weekend in Crete, and while in the supermarket, a young local complimented me on my Ben Parkes top and said he also enjoyed the channel! Have a great time in Berlin guys! Keep up the good work 😎👍💪
I'll be wearing Alphaflys (v1) at Berlin. Gutted to miss the Shakeout Run but we land in Berlin at 09:45 on Saturday. Hopefully run into you on the course :-D Good Luck to all running on Sunday!
Great video! I'm running london in two weeks, just in my trusty Pegasus 39's no thrills, but a great all rounder! 2nd marathon for me, did last year in just over 3h50. Good luck in Berlin!
I was 4% faster in vaporfly vs Saucony speed 2 over 5K The same benefit would reduce a 3:30 marathon to 3:21. I'm not saying it will - there are many factors at play but that's probably over 200 places up the finishing grid. Enough time to treat yourself on sale and have a test run
Hi Ben! I am in Berlin to run the marathon this week!! So excited. Visiting from San Francisco. I almost came out to meet you for the shake out run this morning but you were going out later than I wanted and honestly your easy conversational pace is like 3 minutes a mile faster than I run!! I’m slow but I thought about you running here today. I’ve watched your videos and find them entertaining and really informative. This is my second marathon ever. First one was Marine Corps about 30 years ago. 😬 I’ve done the hard work for this one! I’m confident I can do it. But that doesn’t stop the nerves. Good luck tomorrow!
That river path / shared cycle route out past thamesmead is great, been using it recently as part of my long run route out and back to Woolwich arsenal!
It's funny I just did my last proper workout (from your plan!) before my half-marathon on Sunday and I was doing the same thing comparing between Endorphin speed 2s and Pros 2s
Best of luck in Berlin! I had to drop my goal race for the year because of being sick and losing too much training, so I feel your pain a little bit! I've got a 25k scheduled now though! Glad to see you're in good spirits and have a fun race in the lead-up to Valencia!
Another energy bomb from my favorite youtuber👍 Good luck in Berlin, had the pleasure of running there in 2013 in a pair of Newtons I bought at the expo the day before. Wandered around all day before the race and had tired legs race day🤭 Going to run Amsterdam in three weeks in Alphafly 1, a little older and a lot wiser🌝
I recently got into running and tried all these along with the Hoka Rocket X and for my feet the Hoka’s and Endorphin Pro were the most comfortable. I purchased the Hoka as it was about 50% off. All are great!!
Another great video Ben and Sarah. I'll be running London and will be taking the Alphafly v1. Good luck in Berlin....you guys are a true inspiration. Keep up the great work.
I’m in the same boat - Not sure what to aim for at Berlin. I was injured for two weeks in mid August and then came back slowly for another week. Basically missed three weekends of long runs. I’m probably going for 2:45. See you at the shakeout run!
Yesterday I took out an old pair of Alphafly 1s for some speed work. I have already done 200km in them but they hadn't lost any of their pep. The combination of cushioning and energy return from the forefoot was absolutely incredible. I was flying; it was impossible to keep the paces down. Since I shifted to more of a mid/forefoot strike, and better technique, I get a lot more out of this shoe. This shoe was designed for the best pros and you need to emulate them to get the most out of it. The only thing preventing me from using them in my autumn marathon is the price! I can't bring myself to shell out another £200+. So I am sticking with the VFs I found on sale.
Running NYC Marathon in November and it’ll be the 1st marathon outing for the New Balance RC elite for me. They’ve done me well for everything up to 1/2 marathon, PB’s every time. Fingers crossed,,,,
I'll be wearing Alphaflys (v1) at San Sebastian marathon in Spain (27th Nov)... also wore the Alphaflys V1 at Berlin last year and Hannover marathon back in April (PB)... I haven't tried the V2 but for marathon distance racing... the Alphas are the best shoe out there in my opinion (more efficient shoe whilst protecting the legs at marathon pace)... Anyways, enjoy Berlin, the atmosphere and people support is great along the course and the finish line under Brandenburg Gate is amazing - have fun !
Good to see you and Sarah having a lot fun out there Ben! I’m racing Indianapolis in 6 weeks and will most likely be going with the old faithful Vaporfly 2s. Considering snagging a pair of the OG Alphafly’s to test out to see if I like more than the Vaporfly’s.
Hey Jordan. I'm a big fan of the Vaporfly 2s. Tried the OG Alphaflys, but they just don't do it for me. Also enjoy the Endorphin Pro 3 and FuelCell RC Elite.
I’ve worn Alphaflys for my last 3 marathons. They aren’t the most comfortable but I think I’ll be wearing them for London next week. They are a great shoe! Good luck in Berlin x
Completed anther 10k today with intervals. Using my Saucony Endorphin Speed 1 and wearing my Ben Parkes White Running T Shirt and Hat. Also used your warm up and cool down videos 👍
Unfortunately i´m not in Berlin for the Weekend. I use your plans for my own Marathon Training and i want to say thank you! For PAris in April i was very good prepared and i hope the same for Frankfurt in 5 weks.
So Montreal Marathon on Sunday sept 25th. First one. Strangely enough I have the same three shoes (V1 of the Alphafly though). Final choice for me will be the Endorphin Pro 3s. Next choice would have been the Vaporflys, which I adore for shorter runs 5k, 10k, but don't feel confident enough for a full 42k . Can't get used to the arch of the Alphafly, and, being a bit of a heel striker, I feel like the shoe has a negative drop and not enough of a roller.
I have the Endorphin Pro 2, Adios Pro 2 and Alphafly V1 but for me the Alphafly is still my go to marathon shoe for return and cushioning. All the best in Berlin, enjoy it! Berlin is a bucket list race for me!
Would be interesting to hear how you choose where you do your runs since you seem to run all around the London area. Could also be that I just spot the ones on Strava that are further away from Greenwich 😅 Good luck in Berlin!
Did a half in the alphafly 2 last weekend. It's certainly fast and keeps your pace until the end. Also no issue comfort wise. Only downside is the weight. Definitely felt the quads the following 2 days.
I just picked the pro3 as my first pair of saucony shoes. I typically use a variety of Hoka’s in my daily rotation, Rincon, Clifton, Mach 5… but I’ve heard so many good things, about the pro3. Plus, I love pink shoes.
Dublin marathon end of October hopefully post covid and 100km .. bpm is all over the shop presently (covid curse) ... fingers crossed I can hit between 3hrs and 3hrs 30 A and B goal .. glad to see you are doing better.
I'm tapering now for the Chester Marathon in a week or so. Really looking forward to it. It'll be the vaporfly 2 for me. The drops too low in the alphafly1, though if I could have tried the 2, maybe I'd gone with that shoe. Good luck for London!
My new Brooks shoes arrived today and they’re as pink as your shoes! I call them electric magenta. Figure they will be easy to find for pre-sunrise morning workouts.🎀
Just ran my first marathon in Berlin used the alpha fly 1, felt perfect...the only other supershow I own are the brooks hyperion elite 2 which are notably slower than the alphafly...can't wait to try out the new ones
Alphafly 1's for me when I run the St George Marathon October 1 in Utah. Almost all downhill so I am hoping my quads hold up, but it should be fun! Good luck in Berlin and I hope you have a great run and lots of fun!
Best of luck for Berlin & whatever your time will be, will be. Just toeing the line after UTMB will be a success. My shoe choice for Chicago will be those super comfy New Balance RC Elite V2s. They are fast enough for me, but I am a fair way behind you 🐌
Fab and very informative video. I’ve been trying to decide between Vaporfly Next% 1s and Alphafly 1s (although I’m in a totally different time bracket to you 😳), and think the Vaporfly is winning! Will hopefully get to meet you on Saturday morning. Good luck in Berlin ☺️
I'm doing the Snowdonia Marrathon at the end of October and will be wearing my NB 880 workhorses. Good luck in Berlin, I did it in 1983 and it was my first marathon :)
A really enjoyable video, thanks Ben and Sarah. 3:15, will you share with us what time you put on the application form that got rejected? Good luck in Berlin.
I’m wearing the best shoes I own for my first ever marathon on 2nd Oct. I’m doing the Chester Marathon and have elected to use my Hoka Rincon’s for stack height, comfort and meta rocker
I was planning on using the Endorpin Pro 3 for Amsterdam (I've never worn the Nikes), I did find one of the rear grips was starting to lift (only 30 miles in them?!), I'll glue it down but a bit disappointed as I' do like them and got a Half PB in them too.
Just did a half in the AF2 , if I could do it again I would pull out my partly used VF4%FK for sure. My first Marathon was done in the Nike Air Edge (1980's ) that was an amazing shoe...
I put two great races in the Endorphin Pro 3's. One was a PR in a half marathon. I have the alpfafly 1 and they have my marathon PR. Either one are great shoes but right now the Pro 3's just have it for me.
Would you say the vaporfly 2 is the best or one of the best 5k race shoes? I recently did my xc season opener in the alphafly 1 and it felt nice. I have seen reviews about the alphaflys 2 but decided it would be too heavy for a 5k. So now I am deciding whether to stick to the alphaflys 1 or go for the vaporflys 2🤔. This was a comment on the Nike shoe review video but I thought it’d be more likely to be answered if I posted it here.
Run the comfortable shoe on the comeback. Save Alpha for next PB attempt. You can roughly figure how much faster you would have been running in the Fly's from past improved performances in the speedier shoe, without the discomfort in your return. My 2 cents.
Hi Ben in joyed your videos I tranning well for my chester marathon 2 oct did 17 miles last Saturday and week be for 16 miles and had sore heel but going a l better good luck with yours
“Maybe the runner should be faster….” Comment of the day from Sarah! Just ❤❤ her!
I’ve had a really crappy day. This video really made me smile and cheered me up!
yeah, I know what you mean, same here. Made me smile a lot!
Hope the rest of your day got better Jack. Glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
Currently on a long weekend in Crete, and while in the supermarket, a young local complimented me on my Ben Parkes top and said he also enjoyed the channel! Have a great time in Berlin guys! Keep up the good work 😎👍💪

Good luck in Berlin, Ben! I hope you and Sarah have fun there and achieve your targets!
Great video! I'm running london in two weeks, just in my trusty Pegasus 39's no thrills, but a great all rounder! 2nd marathon for me, did last year in just over 3h50. Good luck in Berlin!

I love your videos Ben. Cracks me up how you called the endorphin pro 3: speed 3, pro 3, and pro 2. So many shoes to remember!
It's funny I just did my last proper workout (from your plan!) before my half-marathon on Sunday and I was doing the same thing comparing between Endorphin speed 2s and Pros 2s
On which shoes did you decide on in the end? I have to make the same decision for Berlin and I think I'm going with the Pro 2s.
Best of luck with Berlin this weekend! Smart shoe choice 👌 I’m going alpha v1 for mine!
Nice one Ben. Good luck on Sunday 🙂
Best of luck in Berlin! I had to drop my goal race for the year because of being sick and losing too much training, so I feel your pain a little bit! I've got a 25k scheduled now though! Glad to see you're in good spirits and have a fun race in the lead-up to Valencia!
All the best for Berlin on Sunday, Ben. Thanks for another fun, informative video!
Thanks for another great video, and have a fantastic time in Berlin!
Looking forward to seeing you Saturday morning for the shake-out run in Berlin!
What’s the address please or locAtion in the T garden please
I will be running Berlin in AlphaFlys….hope to see you at some point during the weekend. I will try to be at the shakeout run at 10am!
So much looking forward to Saturday! Great inspiration
Good luck Ben! Berlin is amazing! I’m running Munich this year, so also feeling the race nerves incoming
Good luck Ben. Will be wearing the Alphafly's in Toronto Waterfront marathon.

Melbourne marathon on the 3rd. Running in the new balance RC elite 2.

I'm doing Berlin Marathon this weekend myself. It's my first and I am totally nervous. Thanks for your video.
Good luck in Berlin x happy running
Good luck in Berlin, Ben!
Good luck in Berlin mate..hope the knee is all good ..get in done!!!👍
This was a really good and “relaxed” video. Good luck in Berlin.
Good luck in Berlin Ben . 1st week of taper for me (Perth marathon) can’t wait 👍💪
Running NYC Marathon in November and it’ll be the 1st marathon outing for the New Balance RC elite for me. They’ve done me well for everything up to 1/2 marathon, PB’s every time. Fingers crossed,,,,
Loving the banter :)
All the very best, Ben 👍
I will choose the Alphaflys for my first Marathon. See you in Berlin this weekend 🍻

Lots of luck
Don't forget to enjoy
Completed anther 10k today with intervals. Using my Saucony Endorphin Speed 1 and wearing my Ben Parkes White Running T Shirt and Hat. Also used your warm up and cool down videos 👍
Running Berlin in Vaporfly 2s, hope to see you at your shakeout run!
See you in Berlin! I’m running on New Vaporflys. Tried on the alphafly 2, they unfortunately felt to tight in the midfood.
Unfortunately i´m not in Berlin for the Weekend. I use your plans for my own Marathon Training and i want to say thank you! For PAris in April i was very good prepared and i hope the same for Frankfurt in 5 weks.

Sarah’s face re Nike vapourfly….classic……I’m with you…sold my vapour fly’s after three runs…love the saucony pro pink magic shoes !,,
I prefer the pink ones on you. They seem to have a softer bounce. The others seems hard.
I have the Endorphin Pro 2, Adios Pro 2 and Alphafly V1 but for me the Alphafly is still my go to marathon shoe for return and cushioning. All the best in Berlin, enjoy it! Berlin is a bucket list race for me!
Great video, Sarah had it in for you👍😂😂. Best of luck Ben, hope you have a brilliant run. 🏅
Best of luck for Sunday

Have you tried them? The left tongue on mine kept slipping down and caused some of the worst shoelace pain I’ve ever felt. Really bummed me out.
Dublin marathon end of October hopefully post covid and 100km .. bpm is all over the shop presently (covid curse) ... fingers crossed I can hit between 3hrs and 3hrs 30 A and B goal .. glad to see you are doing better.

One of best video nice see you both how get video done xx
I'm running in the Endorphin Pro 3 in November - Richmond, VA, USA.

Good luck in Berlin and I hope you have a great run and lots of fun!
Best of luck for Berlin. Are you planning a shakeout run in Valencia? 🤞
Great video as usual ben.. 👌 I really want to try the new alphafly. Maybe get them for my birthday this year lol. 😍❤️🔥
When you put the ALPHAFLY on I could hear you from Warrington 😂
Best of luck for Berlin & whatever your time will be, will be. Just toeing the line after UTMB will be a success. My shoe choice for Chicago will be those super comfy New Balance RC Elite V2s. They are fast enough for me, but I am a fair way behind you 🐌
Loch Ness in the Vapourfly's .....first marathon so buzzing to get going now 😄
Fab and very informative video. I’ve been trying to decide between Vaporfly Next% 1s and Alphafly 1s (although I’m in a totally different time bracket to you 😳), and think the Vaporfly is winning! Will hopefully get to meet you on Saturday morning. Good luck in Berlin ☺️
I’m doing the Ventura Marathon in February. I’m wearing the Endorphin Pro 3.
I'm doing the Snowdonia Marrathon at the end of October and will be wearing my NB 880 workhorses. Good luck in Berlin, I did it in 1983 and it was my first marathon :)
Just got a new set of Alphafly in pink for my autumn marathon sub 3 attempt, right up your street Ben 😁
A really enjoyable video, thanks Ben and Sarah.

Shoulder to shoulder with Kipchoge on Sunday dude 🤠 enjoy 👍

I compared the Vapor Fly next%2 and Endorphin Pro 3. Next% was too much assistance for my liking. I don't want to be that dependent on a shoe.
I'd say the rc elite v2. I'm late to the party but best shoe available imo.
Vaporfly Next %2 for me at CIM this year. Good luck out there in Berlin, looking forward to seeing how you turn out. Say hi to Kipchoge!
Just did a half in the AF2 , if I could do it again I would pull out my partly used VF4%FK for sure. My first Marathon was done in the Nike Air Edge (1980's ) that was an amazing shoe...
Enjoy Berlin, I seem the puma’s in the cupboard. Another great workout shoe
Good luck!
I’ll be wearing the Vaporfly’s 2 at the Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis!
I’m running my first marathon ever this coming December! Looking for around sun 430 I’m tentatively wearing the Pink Saucony Pro 3’s
Rc elite in Dublin. Will decide after Dublin if I’ll do Valencia it. Nothing booked bar an entry
In a similar way to cycling, have you considered running with a power metre to compare shoes at a given pace to see which is more efficient?
I put two great races in the Endorphin Pro 3's. One was a PR in a half marathon. I have the alpfafly 1 and they have my marathon PR. Either one are great shoes but right now the Pro 3's just have it for me.

6:19 a mile and you feel like your not pushing it and running comfortably, that Endorphin Pro 3 must be an amazing shoe.
Good luck in Berlin :)
Sarah, nice edit at 12:48 👊🏼
see you in Berlin
Alphafly version 1 for me this Sunday at Berlin! 😁👍🏻
Good luck with Berlin🍀. Alphaflys in London for me
