Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe and leave any comments or questions below, we'll try out best to get to them even though we're in London at the moment. The shoe is available today (October 1), you can get here: bit.ly/SHOP-ADIDAS-PRIME-X-STRUNG
I got the Prime X Strung 5 days ago and I've already put in over 50 miles to this amazing shoe. I just can't stop running in this! It has such an amazing addictive ride. I had been on the fence with the OG Prime X for a while and was close to getting it and then this Strung version came out. It sold out in the US pretty quickly and I got tired of waiting for it to come back in stock so I ordered and finally got my pair from a dealer in UK. I'm sure I glad did because the past 4 days of running in the Prime X Strung has been pure bliss. It has incredible energy return and bounce but it's not squishy and propels you forward, not up like some other max stack shoes tend to do. It's bouncier than the Incredible Run 2, SC Trainer, and Novablast 3 but a lot faster than all of them. Mine is almost the same weight as the Novablast 3 at 8.3 oz for size 8 so it's fairly light considering the super max midsole stack. The upper is super comfortable - the most comfortable shoe I've tried on this year. The outsole grip in the forefoot area is excellent although you don't have much in the heel area. This shoe is really for forefoot and mid-foot strikers. I think it'd be kind of dangerous for heel strikers. Stability hasn't been an issue for me at all although I am mindful when turning corners or making wide turns. For straight-ahead running, I don't even think about the stability matter. I go back-and-forth between forefoot and mid-foot strikes and just rely on the forefoot more when I need to make turns because there is plenty of width there and the traction with the Continental rubber is excellent. The ride on this is really like no other. It seems to have the best qualities of a racing shoe, daily trainer, long distance shoe, and easy/recovery shoe in one seamless package. It's fast, bouncy, and propulsive yet smooth and controlled, very comfortable but in a minimalist way for the long runs, easy to lock in a pace but even easier to pick it up another notch when you want to. For me, this is the 'Shoe of the Year'. Until now, I had been going back and forth between the Novablast 3 and the Endorphin Speed 3 but, as far as I'm concerned, the Prime X Strung blows both of them out of the water. Well, I guess it had better since it costs as much as those two combined! It definitely isn't for everyone. It's a niche shoe. I can see stability being an issue for a lot of people. It isn't for beginner or inexperienced runners as they could easily roll the ankles on this and the last thing you want to think about while running is how to adjust your running to avoid injury. But, for me, this is the dream running shoe I've been waiting for and something I haven't even imagined, honestly speaking. The fun factor is greater than all of my other shoes and by a very large margin. I believe it is also improving my running technique and helping me extend my strides without much effort, keeping my heart rate down through difficult stretches like going uphill for extended distances. Just amazing. One more thing: I tend to wear US 8 or 8.5 depending on what type of shoes from different brands, so I went with 8 and, overall, it fits great but is a little too roomy on the upper in the forefoot area and I had to really cinch down on the laces. And I still had some toe box room left so I wore thicker socks and that made the fit virtually perfect. This being said, I don't always want to wear thickest socks I have so I ordered a 7.5 size so I can wear it with my normal thinner socks. If you are interested in ordering one, you should go at least a half-size down from your true size but that's alway a moving target with these shoe manufacturers. It's possible you may have to go full-size down as some have said. I can't say enough good things about this amazing shoe. I honestly wouldn't change a thing because I believe doing so will degrade something. I wouldn't want it wider at the heel base for more stability because that would add more weight and completely change the feel of the ride. One shoe cannot be everything for everyone. I just don't see how that is even remotely possible. For me, and all those who also love the Prime X Strung I believe, it's about as perfect as can be for doing some specific things - like running long distance at marathon pace or doing tempo at a brisk pace while protecting your legs from impact. I am absolutely amazed by how fresh my legs, feet, ankles, knees, and joints feel after 10+ miles. I want to keep going or run again a few hours later. Definitely the 'Shoe of the Year' for me by a huge margin.
Agree with everything you wrote! I love it. What do you think is the closest shoe to the strung 1? Feel wise, the bounce, the push forward and the fun strides?
@@boryahL I'd have to say it's the Hoka Cielo X1 that is the closest to the Prime X Strung. The one main advantage of the Cielo X1 over the PXS is the stability. I've never got on well with Hoka shoes in the past due to their narrow forefoot/toe-box, but the Cielo X1 has ample room there. It's really bouncy and good for speed (if not the best for races due to its weight) workouts, tempo/threshold, and long runs at moderate paces. It feels pretty good at easy paces as well although that's not what it was made for like the PXS.
@@alexkhan2000 Thanks! I will go try the Cielo in the Hoka shop this week. I feel like with other shoes my running form is significantly worst and with the prime x suddenly I run super efficiently. So I'm trying to get a daily trainer with similar benefits.
Love the Prime X Strung. The energy return is something to behold. The midsole is almost purely reactive. That is: pure spring without damping to consume and waste energy. The only thing thing: the heel counter has no plastic structure to cup or form. So, sizing is crucial. All my road and trail runners are size 11. Size 11 Prime X Strung were a half inch to long for me!!! However, size 10 fit perfectly!!! Hooray!! Very pleased with what Adidas created here. 👍👍👍 👌
I absolutely love the Prime X ,not only is there is no stress on the legs, but as you run, you're picking up your pace without you noticing until you look at your watch. I just found that I can't wear low socks with mine bc the back rubbed on my achilles, easy fix, longer socks
I have the Prime X, and they are amazing, I felt the upper could of been better and what do I see here another one with a better upper and what appears to have resolved the lacing issues the previous had. Expensive yes, however the life of the shoe you get, plus it's saving your legs and body, it pays for it's self!
Adidas always used to be my running shoe of choice with the likes of the Adios 3 and then they seemed to lose their way, more interested in shoes with celebrity names attached to them and fashion clothing and I switched to Hoka. I love the Cliftons and Rocket X but this shoe from Adidas has got me excited to try an Adidas shoe again. I’ve managed to order a pair here in the UK with a 15% discount bringing the price under £200 which still isn’t cheap but it’s not unreasonable for a lot of shoe! It’s good to see them trying stuff. Like most people who will watch this video, I’m not elite so I don’t care if they’re “illegal” if they give me a nice bouncy run. There’s plenty of legal shoes for those who think that’s important. Roll on Tuesday when mine arrive 😀
The original Prime X has been on my radar for a while but I decided to postpone purchasing it until I returned from a month-long business trip to Asia. I had been enjoying the Novablast 3 (which I brought to the trip) along with the Endorphin Speed 3 and the Mach 5 for daily training recently, so I kept pushing the Prime X back. Then, this comes out, which seems to address the concerns about the upper I had. I'll be getting this as soon as I get back home late this month. Can't wait to experience the ride on this.
This is the most amazing steady run shoe I have ever seen. Quicker steady paces are effortless, I almost don't want to wear it so though don't wear down! 😢
So, I never comment on videos but I’m legit loving the reviews. Gonna think about picking up a pair of these as I chase my next PR. Keep up the great work.
The Prime X is absolutely bonkers! By far the most amazing energetic foam, even better than Alphafly v1 in my opinion. I've been tempted many times to race a marathon in them but the high stack has given me pause. Boston probably would be a great place to try them since there are only a few turns!
I have the adios pro 3 and Alphafly v1. The lightstrike pro foam does absorb impact better than zoom x imo. However when you are 10+ miles into a run, I prefer the Alphafly v1 over the Adios pro 3 as I would start feeling the rods.
@@donaldwang7538 I've used the Alphafly v1 in my last 4 marathons. Next weekend I'm gonna change it up and use the Adios Pro 3's. I like them so far but we will see what happens.

Looks like an amazing shoe, but for $400 Canadian…. That is a lot of coin for a pair of shoes. Just can’t do it.
Hey Thomas, I'm not sure how it works with your sponsorship but if you end up with a pair of those racing shoes that just don't work for you let me know I'm also a 10.5 cheers
Steve
I was interested until you mentioned the price. That’s just ridiculous
It's weird running slow in these shoe
$300. Wow.
$300 ? No Thanks
Jesus, I'm just switching this off - you don't even know the name of the shoe and judging by what you have in your hand, you barely wore them. What's the point in listening to two folk who are just winging it.
300$ HELL NA AT LEAST 260. AT MOST
