I love this shoe… as a daily trainer. They should have called this the Pegasus 39 Nature. Then we would call it a lighter Pegasus. Instead it’s a heavier Turbo

Whats stupid is it isnt even lighter than the regular pegasus 39

I agree. We all hoped of a magic return, but it did not. Will use it though for easy/steady and maybe tempo. Hope it softens up a bit

I’ll probably get people telling me how wrong I am for this, but I prefer this to the Peg Turbo 1. Always found the midsole too thin and I got hotspots under the ball of my feet in it.
Whilst this isn’t my go to workout shoe, I’ve got well over 100 miles into this shoe now including a bunch of stuff at marathon pace and I’ve enjoyed them all (nearly). The only issue I’ve had with the upper is when I wore it for a 28km run and got some rubbing on the instep of my foot from, I assume, the fly wire.
I think this shoe suffers from its name. If this had been the Peg 40 everyone would be praising the improvement over the 39. Much like the streakfly, it’s a decent enough shoe which was over hyped and could never live up to the build up people had in their mind.
I’m going to keep using and enjoying mine as a daily trainer and a “Peg Premium” but turning to the Takumi Sen or similar for workouts.
Thanks for the honest review and it’s good to see your passion for shoes being fully expressed.

Thanks Andy, it was great to read your opinion here. I disagree regarding your comparison against v1 but totally agree on the marketing side of things. Naming and positioning of this shoe did not help, and neither did the hype built around it.

I agree with nearly everything you said! I use this shoe for all my longer runs and use Takumi Sen 8 for speed. But I still prefer turbo 2 cause it could do both jobs so well

What socks do you wear with those? I find the cushioning is very stiff and the upper is like a overcoat.

Calling this Turbo thing is actually against the "Nature"!
    What a waste 🗑 😪
Nike disappoints this year - plenty of unwanted shoes...
Thank you for the review, it must be honest so that both we customers and Nike listen, and draw conclusions!

All they had to do was remove "Turbo" from the name, price it similar to the Peg39, and give people the choice to go Peg39 or socially conscious recycled Peg Nature. They would not have had nearly the same level of backlash as they do now. All they have managed to do is sour people on potential revisions of this shoe where they might have been able to improve it.

      Hi Tim,
Didn't think of it this way. But this is interesting and I think you're right. Maybe they're a hidden strategy of releasing a "turbo 3" down the road and this is only an experiment...

Great review as always, Alex. I did not purchase this shoe and probably won't (a good sale might get the better of me though 😅). As soon as the reviews of the AlphaFly Nature came in and the commentary about how the ZoomX Nature midsole changed the ride/feel for the worse, I knew the Peg Turbo Nature was *not* going to be an exciting shoe. Another expensive, all-hype, minimal-goods shoe.
On a different note - While I appreciate Nike's high-level focus on recycling and sustainability, I am not a fan of how it's being executed. No one should pay a higher point to be an outlet for Nike's own leftover ZoomX trash (and still end up with an inferior shoe).

      Hi Carson,
Magic Speed 2 feel stiffer but also snappier and way more "rolling". ZF5 is clunky and out of the conversation for me to be honest. Speed 3 is the only one worth looking at out of them all.

Alex, here's a rhetorical question. Is Nike buying time while working on a truly great shoe? Great looking but how disappointing this one is. I feel like Nike is throwing us a crappy bone to placate
Nike followers. Turbo was so well done...now this shoe is lame.

  • @keithisaacs6092

The build quality of this shoe and Nike shoes in general is appalling how on earth can they justify the price. When you compare them to Saucony, NB, Asics and Puma they are falling behind the competition.

Just don't buy these shoes for running. After a couple of runs, it irritated my achilles. That's because, while running, it made my ankle overpronate at each impact to the point that in my last couple of miles, I had to run on the balls of my feet to avoid overpronation. I really don't know what's the problem with these shoes, but they are terribly designed. I now only wear them casually, but never during a run again.
