McDonalds employees get way too much stick. The responsibilities that you have to do and the times you have to do it. The shaving issue is only at a few restaurants. All managers do different things get over it
To be fair, people wouldn’t have this point of view if that small minority of McDonald’s employees didn’t constantly fuck up and get basic things wrong. If you find the job too hard and struggle with the stress, find another one instead of continuing when you’re disappointing paying customers
I wanted to answer his question about dips and drinks so firstly most McDonald’s drink machines are automated including whether drinks have ice or not and secondly the dips; we have during the day, one person putting together the orders for drive through and one person at the window there to check and hand out the meals with a smile, often or not the person at the second window (present, is what we call it) assumes the person putting together the order has put in the sauces although sometimes they don’t as they’re not suppose to as the people at present are and lastly the inquiry about how many dips, it doesn’t come out of our wages no, but the top tier managers of the establishment, our business managers and second assistants will issue out warnings and suspensions to people who they find do give out more as it could affect their food cost, their food cost equals their bonuses, so they will go as far as threatening our jobs and livelihoods for it. Hope this helps somewhat -McDonald’s Employee
As a previous McDonald’s Employee who put three years into the place. (I worked all stations! I also live in Canada, so I’m sure things vary.) We never had “wrap of the day”, but say if we had different pies.. people would ask which ones we have, and I’d have to check. We don’t really get informed when we start our shift what we have, or what we don’t have.. I would usually ask before I started, but if I forgot then I’d have to check. As for the precious dips! (I agree, very annoying when they aren’t there.) How it works is there’s someone at the window, and someone running the order at the hot plate. If the person running the order is incompetent, lazy, or just forgets.. you’re kinda fucked. Technically the window person is supposed to check the bag.. but we don’t always if it’s super busy. As for the other sauce.. the mayo. It’s one of the only sauces that were directed to charge for if you want extra.. Technically we’re supposed to charge for nugget sauces too, but they’re not as much of a big deal. So for one fry, you get one sauce. I’ve gotten in huge shit for giving out extra sauces when they weren’t charged for.. in Canada it’s 15 cents a pack, which doesn’t seem like much but pretty much everyone wants mayo with their order. Sorry! (Also, you can ask at the second window for extra sauces and they’ll usually just throw them in if a manager isn’t watching. That way, you get sauce whether or not they remembered put it in the bag!) Sincerely, A former McDonald’s worker.
I went to McDonald's once in the morning to get breakfast for me and my boyfriend who was at work and I was at the front of the line and there was only one member of staff serving people since the others were helping with getting deliveries ready and such and this woman wouldn't serve anyone until this one guy got his meal and they were just stood there talking until he left. That's like the only incident I can remember that annoyed me at McDonald's and its not like the line was small either, people were in a rush to work.
the reason most people don't know the wrap of the day is because you don't know where you are going to be placed on the day. so you could be on till one day and not the next. we actually have a button now that tells us on our till so we don't have to keep looking up at the board. the wrap of the day can change because they bring out new wraps and the days can change, so no one really bothers to remember. before we had the button though we would just ask the person on till next to us. I honestly don't know why no one remembers it, even I don't. so that's why we had a button with the info on our till put on. this is not the same everywhere though. so everyone has different experiences on whether the employee knows it. hope that helps.
Man so true, it's not as if a McDonald's employee, including me, is gonna go home ad Fucking revise what the wrap of the day is. I don't see what the big problem is not knowing the wod.

I work at McDonald’s and I really like it there, the people I work with are so nice, the only problem is the customers, they are rude, mean and pretty much vile, I’ve been called so many horrible things, chips in my face, drinks thrown on me, I understand it can be frustrating to wait or be miss understood but there is no need to talk to anyone the way we get spoken to, like we are scum, you are no better than us. We also get nice customers but there isn’t many to be honest and it’s normally teenagers, older grumpy men are the worse!
I can’t agree more with the dips problem!! My boyfriend buys sweet chilli dips separately with whatever meal he’s getting, the are NEVER IN THE BAG! and he actually pays separately for them omg it’s so annoying!!
Just saying working customer service is actually hard af you can only understand that if you work it people are twats that treat you like a sub human. McDonald’s workers should be appreciated more same for all customer service roles...
Yup. Three years at McDonalds and I’ve been screamed at and assaulted by customers multiple times. I once had a man come in complaining that his hot chocolate wasn’t made right, so I offered to make it again.. he then proceeded to throw his burning hot cup of hot chocolate all over me, and then screamed at me about how he was in the military and we should have the same standards as he did. Very nice.
The only service industry employees I have actively hold a grudge against is the people running my local Dominoes because they always ALWAYS fuck up multi-orders, and usually even one pizza orders. And even when I'm in there and see them "working," I refuse to believe they actually passed their GCSEs. I don't know if it's like that anywhere else (I bloody hope not), but that's my experience with them.
Mcdonald's food is for children. The patties have the texture of wet cardboard. The batter on the chicken tastes like it was frozen. And I know it's cheaper than other places, but the portion sizes are too small. I've never been satisfied after a maccies. The only thing they're good for are the banana milkshakes. Even though you'll only get a milkshake once out of ten times. Much rather pay £2-£3 more at Burger King for higher quality food that actually fills me up
4:50 I’m a McDonald’s worker and basically sometimes that the dips are not in the bag would mainly be if it’s busy your under a lot of stress and just want to get cars moving as fast as possible so sometimes folk just genuinely forget and just want to give you your order and get out as quick as possible but if it is on a quiet time then yeah that would be really annoying

D C trust me mate part time McDonald’s university students that work seasonal for a few pound a week have bigger fish to fry than remember what the wrap of the day is
i work in mcdonald’s and on the selects thing, can’t imagine why that doesn’t happen, we have receipt tickets we print off to make up orders and the dips are always on there and on the screen, why they don’t make it to your bag is likely poor comms between the team. As for the mayo thing, our store only has “sachets” of ketchup and i’m always sure to give plenty of those, as for the others we actually charge extra (or are supposed to) for those so it’s a little bit harder to get away with throwing loads in so for the sachets only giving one is just ignorant tbh.
Ain’t ignorant bro, you only get one dip per meal a lot of the time. They cost money like, not your responsibility on who gets to have a free dip and who doesn’t, doesn’t matter if you look like an asshole.
shut up for dips like curry and mayo and shit in the little plastic tubs our store never charges but for the bigger selects dip we do, as for ketchup sachets i just toss in a handful
As an ex McDonalds employee, we get told off for giving out anymore than 2 sauces with a meal, we’re told to put 1 in the bag and of the customer asks for more then we can give them another, also when ur working the 2nd drive thru window, ur not the one putting the bag together ur just doing the drink so someone is handing u a closed bag and during a busy day it becomes instinct just to go “fuck it just get the line moving”
It's even worse now they have paper straws how the fuck am I supposed to suck a milkshake throw a paper straw without looking like av been eating a printer
i work on the second window at a maccies i never forget the dips for the selects , how can you when i literally tells you on the screen which one they ordered i'm one of the good ones
There is a button on the till that should display which of the wraps is wrap of the day, but not all stores have that. And then on the drive thru, you should have a runner (collecting food for the order and bagging it), a presenter at window 2 (whose job it should be to put our dips in the bag and hand things out) and there will be someone working drinks with a headset on which is why your dips will get missed cos the least important bit is the window and that’s where the inexperience is put. If you go to a good store they’ll have someone on bag check next to them who knows what they are doing and will check everything before it goes out. Final thing to remember I guess... on the drive thru everyone is trying to meet service time targets, orders can get served off and they work off receipts sometimes which is always harder than checking the screen. It’s also why you sometimes get rushed through. Being bottom of the ‘group’ (a collection of usually about 10 stores) means less money and priority is given to you, which means less money for labour costs, which means shittier service because they’ll cut corners by using younger, less capable staff or understaffing the shift. And as for being tight with dips... you gotta think of it like this: Arsene Wenger was careful with Arsenal’s money even though it wasn’t his own. That’s how McD’s workers are encouraged to be. We give out one per meal unless it’s stated otherwise. Just ask for extra to be added to your order at the first window and then it won’t get missed. If they are diligent at their job they’ll pop it through the till at the first window or they can press a button on the headset and ask the second window to make sure they do it. There’s your behind the McCurtain for today I hope everyone has a nice McDay 😂
I work at mcdonalds and on weekday nighters we have two people + a manager on front and two in kitchen. this is because its rarely busy on weekdays unless there is a match or some sort of event on. however on weekends it is really busy because everyone is drinking and even though there are a lot of people on the weekend nighter, there are to many orders to get everything out quick and then you have people that don't come for their food. but I do agree that we have a lack of employees on weekends at night.
I work at kfc and nobody asks for which dip they want with boneless banquets or mini fillets, it’s very rare, so you have to tell us at the window cause the dip on the screen is 99.99% not the one the person wants, and you’re only allowed 1 but if you ask well give you one of each if you want just ask
my sister works in mcdonalds the reason people forget sauces is because 1. its too busy to grab like 7 different sauces 2. they might of run out and dont have time to go get more 3. they just forgot

The wrap of the day thing, its more likely that you're being served by teenagers who hate working there and probably also work part time. I used to serve burgers and chips at my student union and Stevie is right the stink of grease just never leaves, had to shower after work even at 4am lol
as a Mcdonalds kitchen worker I completely agree with what that guy was saying. Like working there isn't that bad but it just feels like shit. And I can confirm that many people order the WOD. The hygiene in mcdonalds is shit. food is left out for ages. I've been working at like 11pm and some of the chicken sandwiches have been in the vat for 1/2 hours. The apple pies can be 3/4 hours old and the signature meat can be 1/2 hours old. it is disgusting.
That fucking spicy wrap! On the one hand, props to them; it's a very bold move to put that on the menu when most places are just concerned with appealing to as many people as possible. On the other hand it needs a warning. I think I've over analysed the situation a little...
On the wrap of the day point, I was at McDonalds for 3 years so here's my explanation(s) for Jack's issue: 1. A lot of McDonalds staff are just fucking dumb/stoned 2. Some days are more popular than others and the less popular ones often get forgotten 3. The wraps do change days occasionally, and management isn't usually very good about passing that info down the chain 4. On till you're trying to remember a few other things like what promotional burgers are on, what toys are in the happy meals, what all the burgers etc have in them for allergy reasons etc
Such a stupid statement, if you get a meal that’s supposed to have dips and you don’t get the dips do you know how disappointing that is? Its like buying a car but it’s got no petrol so you can’t drive it. It’s like ordering sweet and sour chicken balls from the Chinese but they don’t put the sweet and sour sauce in which has actually happened to me.
I've got a select meal while hungover once to cure me.. the dips weren't in the bag. Never ever been so pissed off. So I always check the bag before I drive off now
I would invite this guy to try work the 2nd window of a McDonald's and I guarantee you he will constantly forget the sauces on numerous occasions. One of the hardest places to work in the store. And ketchup/mayo still costs money, why should they hand you loads for nothing without you asking. Its constantly wasted by people
There's a weird stigma around critiquing maccies employees that you dont have with any other job, People slag off call center employees, farmers, builders literally every other job. But if you say that someone at mcdonalds should know how to do the basics of their job for some reason thats an unacceptable view point to have
FFS guys its Macdonalds not a michelin 5 star restaurant 🍴 go to a Gordon Ramsey restaurant & then critique. Give the McDonald's workers some credit, they are probably on minimum wage or just above trying to eke out an existence. I'd hate to be one of you buying your next burger, enjoy it when you bite into it. 😂
I'd say that most people who work in McDonald's don't earn enough to really give a shit out the specifics of some random person's meal. I mean, yes, it is their jobs. But really, you're the person ordering some of the trashiest food you can have. At least be nice to them and remind them that you wanted dips or whatever politely.
I worked in Maccies and the only times people complained about not getting dips were when they hadn’t checked that they’re on the screen or hadn’t asked for them in the first place. Window 2 can be a nightmare if the people on the headset or on lane 1s headset don’t take the order properly. Also most of the people I worked with would throw 10 sauces in the bag and get yelled at for it 😂
Dude, chill. I'ts only Maccas. If you don't like it stop going. Stop being so angry about burgers. It's laughable. You are a middle class white dude whining about dip incorrectly prepared for you by children.

McDonalds employees get way too much stick. The responsibilities that you have to do and the times you have to do it. The shaving issue is only at a few restaurants. All managers do different things get over it
Found the melt who thinks working mcdonalds is mentally taxing.
To be fair, people wouldn’t have this point of view if that small minority of McDonald’s employees didn’t constantly fuck up and get basic things wrong. If you find the job too hard and struggle with the stress, find another one instead of continuing when you’re disappointing paying customers
If only they know what it's like.
@@craydogdog1530 you're making it sound as though you're in a prison or something 😂
Qwerty Qwertyson what jobs have you worked then?
Grow up
they are uk based and as a McDonald's employee, the ice and drinks are not automated at any store
"SO WHEREEEE IS THE SOUR CREAM?!?!... Gareth"
As a previous McDonald’s Employee who put three years into the place. (I worked all stations! I also live in Canada, so I’m sure things vary.)
We never had “wrap of the day”, but say if we had different pies.. people would ask which ones we have, and I’d have to check.
That way, you get sauce whether or not they remembered put it in the bag!)
Sincerely,
A former McDonald’s worker.
Just ask for the dips when you’re given your food. Simple.
When there is a long line in drive thru and everyone is screaming for you to hurry up. You tend to forget shit and it happens so quickly
the reason most people don't know the wrap of the day is because you don't know where you are going to be placed on the day. so you could be on till one day and not the next. we actually have a button now that tells us on our till so we don't have to keep looking up at the board. the wrap of the day can change because they bring out new wraps and the days can change, so no one really bothers to remember. before we had the button though we would just ask the person on till next to us. I honestly don't know why no one remembers it, even I don't. so that's why we had a button with the info on our till put on. this is not the same everywhere though. so everyone has different experiences on whether the employee knows it. hope that helps.
We have a little printed list next to our tills with what they are on
I’m more likely to forget the day than the wrap lmao
@@Anna-wb6hj Same especially when I was pregnant when ever they asked I was forever asking what day is it haha

Wow you're so zen the first time someone threw chips in my face would be my last day and I would be charged with assault
Much rather pay £2-£3 more at Burger King for higher quality food that actually fills me up
This is amazing, “don’t fill them up half guys” 😂😂😂
Heinz mayo is better than Hellman’s and I will defend that statement to the grave
I'm an employee I'll answer ur questions jack.. the wrap of the day thing is because there's a lot of part time employees who arnt in everyday and it's not told to memorize each wrap of the day cause it's different everyday. Also Stevie nearly every Maccies in the country is different we don't have to shave or take off our uniform leaving at mine (in addition Maccies has developed a lot the last decade) Also other guy I don't know the name of... fair enough about the sauces it's just very fast food and people make mistakes often (I'm not having a go) also were told 1 sauce per meal 😁👍
Yeh but there are set days for each wrap. Show some ingenuity. Not hard
@@Me-ji2pn you really think any employees arsed to memorize each day when there's a button on the till we can just click to check 😂 (that's new btw we used to just ask around other staff)
My local McDonald's is the opposite. I put no dips on my order and I get about 20 pots of sauce.
I work at McDonald’s and I always have to check the wrap of the day because I only work part time because of uni and I actually have a life outside of work.
This comment literally makes no sense...
D C it does , because no one really cares that much to remember each wrap
D C trust me mate part time McDonald’s university students that work seasonal for a few pound a week have bigger fish to fry than remember what the wrap of the day is
literally watching this 13 mins before a mcdonald’s interview i have
i work in mcdonald’s and on the selects thing, can’t imagine why that doesn’t happen, we have receipt tickets we print off to make up orders and the dips are always on there and on the screen, why they don’t make it to your bag is likely poor comms between the team.
They cost money like, not your responsibility on who gets to have a free dip and who doesn’t, doesn’t matter if you look like an asshole.
shut up for dips like curry and mayo and shit in the little plastic tubs our store never charges but for the bigger selects dip we do, as for ketchup sachets i just toss in a handful
starts with my going to attack the Mcdonalds employees then says he's not attacking them
Better looking Stevie is a bit mean , isnt he? I mean f**king hell.
BBQ chicken wrap

Chicken mayo burger ( if I’m really hungry )
Strawberry milkshake

spot on mate, mozzarella dips instead of the chicken mayo though
Preaching to the choir with the missing dips.
Especially if you order through deliveroo or something.
The odds of them being missing goes up to 95%! 😂
I thought he was gonna say I want you to have a heart attack when on about the TK at the end 😂
It's even worse now they have paper straws how the fuck am I supposed to suck a milkshake throw a paper straw without looking like av been eating a printer
i work on the second window at a maccies
i never forget the dips for the selects , how can you when i literally tells you on the screen which one they ordered
i'm one of the good ones
Jordan is the best edition to the pod
Biggest problem is the lack of employees at night
Facts
I work at mcdonalds and on weekday nighters we have two people + a manager on front and two in kitchen. this is because its rarely busy on weekdays unless there is a match or some sort of event on. however on weekends it is really busy because everyone is drinking and even though there are a lot of people on the weekend nighter, there are to many orders to get everything out quick and then you have people that don't come for their food. but I do agree that we have a lack of employees on weekends at night.
5:42 this will always be my favourite moment on happy hour
I work at kfc and nobody asks for which dip they want with boneless banquets or mini fillets, it’s very rare, so you have to tell us at the window cause the dip on the screen is 99.99% not the one the person wants, and you’re only allowed 1 but if you ask well give you one of each if you want just ask
my sister works in mcdonalds
the reason people forget sauces is because
1. its too busy to grab like 7 different sauces
2. they might of run out and dont have time to go get more
3. they just forgot
I had a thing: for a while, i havent seen it anymore, everytime i went, the person serving was chewing gum. I Aint bothered if they DO chew gum, u do that, but when you're serving chips and shit? I always half expected gum at the bottom of the bag tbh
He got that shaving comment on point 😂
The wrap of the day thing is coz it tells you on the till the managers never tell you

First world problems...
😂
That fucking spicy wrap!
On the one hand, props to them; it's a very bold move to put that on the menu when most places are just concerned with appealing to as many people as possible. On the other hand it needs a warning.
I think I've over analysed the situation a little...
On the wrap of the day point, I was at McDonalds for 3 years so here's my explanation(s) for Jack's issue:
1. A lot of McDonalds staff are just fucking dumb/stoned
2. Some days are more popular than others and the less popular ones often get forgotten
3. The wraps do change days occasionally, and management isn't usually very good about passing that info down the chain
4. On till you're trying to remember a few other things like what promotional burgers are on, what toys are in the happy meals, what all the burgers etc have in them for allergy reasons etc
It’s just dips Jordan, calm down
Such a stupid statement, if you get a meal that’s supposed to have dips and you don’t get the dips do you know how disappointing that is? Its like buying a car but it’s got no petrol so you can’t drive it. It’s like ordering sweet and sour chicken balls from the Chinese but they don’t put the sweet and sour sauce in which has actually happened to me.
Wait... Who *doesn't* have ketchup with their chicken nuggies?!
It's the most vital part of the chicken nuggers.
Bloody hell Jordan is fitttt
Personally, idk why, but its always when i order during the night that they forget the dips.
People who complain about fast food service should just keep it to themselves. Otherwise politely address their problem to the servers.
Kfc isn’t worse with sauce which you have to pay for
5:43 is the best part
I've got a select meal while hungover once to cure me.. the dips weren't in the bag. Never ever been so pissed off. So I always check the bag before I drive off now
That buffalo chicken wrap really caught me off guard fucking hell, i was expecting a bit of a kick, but geez.
