Time and patient will correct 99% of your bearding problems. Do not trim or shape for eight to nine months. Use beard oil every day. Do not wash your beard every day! Once or twice a week is plenty. Get you some bearding shampoo and conditioner as these have special ingredients to moisturize your beard. Never comb your beard while it's wet. Pat dry your beard never rub it hard. Take a multivitamin, drink extra protein like boost, and take biotin. Everything in your body will want you to trim your beard, don't do it...!!! Bearding is an art..love your beard and it will love you back and remember, never shave...Beard on brothers...!!!
Go get you some biotin at the health food store or online amazon and take it everyday. Use beard conditioned to wash your beard and drink a lot of water. Dehydration is number one problem for dry beard. Also add more protein like boost high protein. Good luck brother
Good Advice Gary about not trimming , I am starting month 6 and my only regret was trimming the sides a few times. But yes , once you get the inspiration go with it and don't trim the sides or under your jaw , let that all grow out too. I started with a goatee then had to wait a while for the hair under my jaw to fill in and even out. I don't have to wash every day if i just use beard oil, but if i use beard cream or balm I need to wash it more often. Beard Oil is most important every day ... your beard's best friend !
In Texas.Hell yes.Love to see that, will be saving up for a little road trip soon(no car).I was just working out near there a few months too.Great video,Thanks to all who were involved.Peace
How lucky for me to find this video; this place is just up the way from where I live and am in desperate need of a beard trim. Thank you for posting this...I'll be calling them tomorrow to make an appointment.
Black barbers are superior in this department. I found that they are patient and very deliberate. Black barbers are very detailed. They take pride in everything they do including their hairstyles and beard trims. It's their signature if it don't look good they don't look good and that's why they have so much pride in what they do. You have an outstanding Barber. PS. I simply use premium olive oil in my beard. It helps with frizz it keeps it looking healthy.
So Munson, next time you visit Staying Sharp, would you please ask Charles how we'd request that haircut from our local barber? I usually just ask for a number 2 on the sides with a high fade, but your cut is the look I want. I just don't know how to ask for it, and carrying a picture of you to my barber -- handsome as you are -- is just something I can't do. I'm envious that you found that shop. What a great cut! Thanks for the vids, Munson. --Paul
Hey Paul. I sure will. But...to be honest...that is exactly what I've done lots of time. Sat down in the chair and showed Charles a pic from instagram of the style I like...or even a couple, to give him the idea of what I want. The instagram account, beard4all, has lots of beard and hair styles I like and I've used those a lot with Charles. Easy conversation.
I was told the other day that my beard looked"exceptional", however compared to yours....I'm embarrassed. I would like to pass that complimented to you ...and your barber for keeping you looking clean!
I've always kept my beard trimmed short the past several years because it's almost white (salt/pepper). I was afraid of looking like Santa Claus at 42 years old. But after watching this video with your beard, I may re-think growing it out.
Damn...why didn't I think of that? Oh wait, cause it was unplanned until 5 minutes before we started and didn't realize the TV would be so annoying. But thanks for you intellect and insight, Mr. Grumpy.
Charles needs to come to St. Louis and open shop. I haven't found anyone here that I'd let touch my beard....and mine looks very much like this guys beard. He has just a tad bit more length since my last trim and a bit whiter than mine though... Great vid! #Beardon
Keep searching. You'll find someone eventually that knows how to trim a beard. I went through 3 other barbers that said they knew beards, all 3 of which ruined it, before I found Charles.
Question, I'm growing a beard, already having an established goatee. In effort to keep a well cared for look, can I trim the goatee while the beard catches up?
That's exactly what I did. In fact, my barber Charles, helped smooth them together once it got to that point. It will look a bit funky for the first couple weeks, but it won't take too long to get to the point that you can smooth them together.
Munson Mischief Cool. That's what I wanted to hear! I don't want to work against the growth, but it's all looking a bit disheveled so I wanted to clean up the goatee until then.
Munson Mischief Fantastic beard my friend. Question: When you had a goatee, did you let all of the cheeks grow out long, or did you keep them tapered while letting the chin hair grow long, or everything all at once? I've been struggling and been to a couple of barbers that have jacked my beard up and I have to start over.
Great vid and beard! So does your line under your jawline go at a slight parrallel angle two your jawline or is it completely "straight" (as if your head were level and it would go straight across)?
+Munson Mischief Ok, so I'm guessing that would be straight? Because my beard hairline was at a slight parrallel angle with my jawline until I saw a vid that said that way was "wrong". So I figured I'd try the "right way" and lately I've been trying to straighten it out more (leveled with my chin one might say), but I don't think it's the look for me. It appears to be a bit to boxy. Have a good 4th bro.
I do like this style very much. My beard nearly 5 months grown. The only thing is I am going a bit thin on the top and wonder will this style still suit me? But you suit your look well.
Yep the tv was a distraction while trying to listen to the barber's good advice. I muted the sound and watched it on 'closed caption" . Agree 100% on the natural look.
Trick is not asking if you can. Just let it grow but keep it trimmed and neat, especially the neck line and upper cheeks. It will be longer before you know it and she won't have noticed it until BOOM, there is a great beard!
You are not your wife's property and do not need her permission to change your appearance in any way. Do as you wish and disregard her opinion, which, by the way, is worth a bucket of warm spit.
He said for the edges he uses Andis T Outliner, so I think this - www.amazon.com/Andis-T-Outliner-Trimmer-T-Blade-04710/dp/B000143C0K/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1473861680&sr=1-1&keywords=andis+t+outliner And for the shaping he said Andis Masters so I think this - www.amazon.com/Andis-Master-Clipper-Silver-01557/dp/B000BBGS36/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1473861788&sr=1-1&keywords=andis+master
" DO NOT TOUCH THE BEARD " are my first words to any barber , i then ask them to repeat what i just said , if they can't then i get up and walk out of the door.
I hate it when the bartender trims the beard instead of just trimming only the hair over your lips. When beard and mustache size is different, it looks terrible.
Munson Mischief I didn’t think you walked out with half a beard trim but I just don’t get just doing one side...if you’re doing a video I think it would make sense to the entire beard so we could see the full result...but maybe that’s just me...looks great though...

Hi Gary my beard is falling out and getting thin.
Any suggestions on how to keep it on my face?
Go get you some biotin at the health food store or online amazon and take it everyday. Use beard conditioned to wash your beard and drink a lot of water. Dehydration is number one problem for dry beard. Also add more protein like boost high protein. Good luck brother
Gary Moore fuken hell. wash your beard!

Love the Hatch Green Chile Shirt! New Mexico is an awesome place. Love the beard and Charles the barber!
Excellent barber, and excellent looking beard.
great beard! just started mine a month ago. I will definitely be checking those guys out over at Stay Sharp. Thanks for the video!
Ask for Charles...he'll get you taken care of.
Finally, this is exactly the beard I'm aiming for (or as close to it as I can manage). Good cut & explanation.
Glad it helped.
I need to take a trip to Tomball TX !! Awesome beard and barber!
We need good barbers like him in Connecticut

+OnAComeUpChea Shows in my video's
Nice video man. 31 dislikes? WTF...must be baby faces.
Thanks man.
your beard looks great.. I wish I had good barbers locally. unfortunately I don't so I had to learn to do it myself
Great Beard Man. Top. I am on the way, third month no razer. Another 5 month left, then i went to the barber. Thx for the video. Greets.
Nice beard... and the trim looks great!
awsome I'm here in Houston glad for the info
Charles will definitely take care of you.
Great beard, barber, trim & haircut !
I was told the other day that my beard looked"exceptional", however compared to yours....I'm embarrassed. I would like to pass that complimented to you ...and your barber for keeping you looking clean!
Its a journey!
OH SWEET, YOU'RE IN MY AREA! That's what's up! I'm in Magnolia.
I've always kept my beard trimmed short the past several years because it's almost white (salt/pepper). I was afraid of looking like Santa Claus at 42 years old. But after watching this video with your beard, I may re-think growing it out.
I get the santa thing too, but not to often cause I keep the beard very trim and neat and I'm also pretty fit unlike that fat old jolly elf!
Just majestic. Respect.
Stupendous beard, Munson. I'm pretty sure you get compliments ALL THE TIME from complete strangers like I do. Isn't it a great feeling?
It happens.
I guess turning off the TV for a 10 minute video was out of the question...
Damn...why didn't I think of that? Oh wait, cause it was unplanned until 5 minutes before we started and didn't realize the TV would be so annoying. But thanks for you intellect and insight, Mr. Grumpy.
Ok. That makes it less annoying.
Lol.
Stunning eyes with beard

Hatch green chile! Great t shirt! New Mexico showing up in Texas. Good beard.

Majestic beard man 😊👍👍
He does great work.
You must be having a subscriber than what u currently have it.Damn thats a gorgeous beard.I wish to have it..
Loved it. I'm subscribing!
Great vid and beard! So does your line under your jawline go at a slight parrallel angle two your jawline or is it completely "straight" (as if your head were level and it would go straight across)?
Beard hairline on neck pretty much follows that natural crease where your jaw and chin underside meet with the neck.
+Munson Mischief Ok, so I'm guessing that would be straight? Because my beard hairline was at a slight parrallel angle with my jawline until I saw a vid that said that way was "wrong". What a fine role-model for a full white beard.
Thank you sir!
Very nice video!
You look like a boss
Sneaks Man this comment is so true. He reminds me of a bearded Roger Sterling (character from Mad Men)
Beautiful beard man!
Thanks!
It's a pity that you did not mute the TV for it's not always easy to hear everything. Question: Does this style of beard and hairstyle have a name ???
I have no idea. Its just the look I want.
old school street thats the name of this styl my broo
I do like this style very much. My beard nearly 5 months grown. The only thing is I am going a bit thin on the top and wonder will this style still suit me? But you suit your look well.
Yep the tv was a distraction while trying to listen to the barber's good advice. I muted the sound and watched it on 'closed caption" . Agree 100% on the natural look.
The haircut is: high & tight and comb over with hard part. Beard style: full white beard round shaped 😊
Great beard, looks like Leonidas grandfather.
What kind of comb was he using at the beginning of the video?
I asked him and he said it was just a flat comb. So, not sure on make and model. But if you're looking for good, hand crafted combs, check out Kent.
+Munson Mischief Thanks
what tv program is that in the background?
I have no idea. Lol.
beard goals
If you grew out your hair you would be Zeus
De Clan hahaha!
Does your barber have a RUclips channel
I need help to find a really great barber in Texas not far from Plano.. Please help me someone... Thank you
This IS a good barber. Which is extremely rare thing. Most of them are butchers.
*beard butchers
damn that's a cool beard
Thank you sir!
I love your beard but my wife wont let me have one like it, i have to keep mine shorter but we do have the same colour and style hair!
Feel free to take your ignorant comments somewhere else dude.
I tend to not allow barbers to touch my face, just head. They always over do it, i like my hairiness.
How many days a week do you use wash and co wash
Every other day or so.
"Where I'm from we have names, for folks without beards... We call them women round here" lol... Nice beard dude thanks for the video
Thanks brother.
what's the brand name of the clippers?
I'll ask him the next time I'm in there.
He said for the edges he uses Andis T Outliner, so I think this - www.amazon.com/Andis-T-Outliner-Trimmer-T-Blade-04710/dp/B000143C0K/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1473861680&sr=1-1&keywords=andis+t+outliner
And for the shaping he said Andis Masters so I think this - www.amazon.com/Andis-Master-Clipper-Silver-01557/dp/B000BBGS36/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1473861788&sr=1-1&keywords=andis+master
Munson Mischief awesome thanks! ordering right now :)
This is a real beard, not some pubic hair people have on their faces. Congrats Santa!
I love you Santa!!
***** right lmaoo, I'll give him my cookies
Good video. Confident barber. Terribly incessant TV audio in background. A shop should have the buzz of clippers as the main sounds.
This guy is spectacularly handsome.
LOL!
its hard to find a good barber. the one I went yesterday took more than have the length off my beard and told him just a touch up. I'm so mad lol!
Yep. My beard was butchered 3 times before I found Charles.
Hatch Green Chili! Greetings from NM!
8:52, Just like an Aged Beared Batman Without face mask. Lovely Beard shaping too...
Thanks!
Good beard!
Thank you.
that's a awesome beard
Thanks Michael!
Ill be damned, my neck of the woods. finally. i have been looking for a beardsmith.
Is this Ricki Hall's father..
This guy looks like Greek God Thumbs up for ZEUS !
" DO NOT TOUCH THE BEARD " are my first words to any barber , i then ask them to repeat what i just said , if they can't then i get up and walk out of the door.
I've had barbers butcher my beard, but my guy Charles always does an amazing job.
@@MunsonMischief Stick with him then my friend.
Dope!!!!! HELLA Nice!!!
I have the same beard.
Cool!
this guy looks like the comstock bioshock infinite
Darn nice!
Great hair and beard! Jealous!
I can't front! That's a fly ass beard!
Thank you!
Cool characters.
He is Will Ferrell...

dont cut your beard with clippers it promotes split ends
That thing is beautiful. Never shave it.
This
Man, cut that TV & air hose OFF so we can HEAR...Good Vid, what I culd hear!
So you want me to go back in time and fix it for you?
Do you mean weirdo?
Tell you what, I'll consider trimming my beard if you win a spelling bee contest.
great video but that background noise is beyond irritating
I know...it was last minute impromptu and we didn't know all the shop noise was going to be so loud. Lesson learned.
Hello, wow really beautiful beard. I love her very white and this great length. It suits you too well.
You are super nice like that I think.
HEIDI's GRANDPA!
I hate it when the bartender trims the beard instead of just trimming only the hair over your lips. When beard and mustache size is different, it looks terrible.
Personally I wouldn't let a bartender trim my beard or mustache!
Whoever is in the background with all that noise... Must be silenced at once! Not the TV either .
Nice fucking beard
Yesterday I went to the barber and he mowed most of my beard. Either he speaks a different language or is incapable of understanding simple words.
his beard tight
Beautiful beard. Looks very sexy.
Looks a bit like George Michael
Awesome beard by the way
I’m growing for the fourth time wish me luck
Thanks brother. Keep growing!
was this supposed to be half a beard trim because he never touched the right side of your face....
Do you really think I walked out of the shop with half a beard trim?
He just showed his technique on the one side.
Munson Mischief I didn’t think you walked out with half a beard trim but I just don’t get just doing one side...if you’re doing a video I think it would make sense to the entire beard so we could see the full result...but maybe that’s just me...looks great though...
he bacicaly did nothi to your beard bro.
Whatever you say. ...bro.
Munson Mischief
still looks cool tho...
Basically.
Nothing.
That's why its called a beard trim and not a beard shave. Wow Munson, you got some haters and jealous little boys. Guess they haven't hit puberty yet.
WTF are they watching...the view? Oprah? You ever heard of a sports channel in a barber shop?
dye em black grandpa
Yeah, I don't think so, child.
I do not like it
So?
Well no one likes you Zach Whiner. Grow up.
