Sweet, looks/sounds great. I'm very Tempted to pull out my old yz400f and do a light resto on it. It's been sitting for about 4 years I know the motor has been bored over on it also.
Nice job Welldone..., im from Qc Canada and i check all your Rebuilt vidéo !! I decide to Rebuilt mine to !! Thanks for your video, its help me a lot!! ✌️
i had this bike when it came out, thing was a tank great motor lasted forever but man did that thing want to push the front too hard into corners, it felt like you had a flat tire so hard to corner. its crazy how much better the 2024 handles
I kind of covered carb install in this video: ruclips.net/video/b-jYfVAqb6I/видео.html Just make sure the subframe and air box is off so you can get it into the bike Didn't directly cover carb hoses, but when I did them, I just followed how they were originally installed. You can see their routing in this video: ruclips.net/video/_T8Ar6reAng/видео.html
If you look at the vin, on the front of the frame, the year will be the tenth digit from the top. You can look up a chart for this but 98=w 99=x 00=y 01=1 02=2. I think the 400's were 98 & 99 and the 426's were 00 - 02.
Bolted right on. The front subframe mount on the subframe side has to be widened and you have to make brackets for the tank. That’s the only fabrication work.
If this isn't fast enough for you guys, sand mountain is next!

Bro that looks mintyyy for a 426, might have to do something like that with my 01 when it’s running
Hey Brody, I have a 2001 yz426f, should there be oil in the flywheel cover??? or do I have a leaking seal???
Yes, the oil on these bikes runs in the flywheel cover, so this is normal. From my experience, only two strokes will have dry flywheels,
can you do a video on how you install the carb and how to connect the hoses

Is there a serial number that I can look up to know if mine is a 400 or a 426?

@@brodyfontenot thx man
What front fender do you have?
It is the fender for the YZ250 (2-stroke) restyle kit.
Where did you get a fmf from?
I got it from ebay for a 2005 yz450f, but it was hard to find even two years ago, so it will probably be even harder to find now.
What plastics are you using? Looking to change to a more modern version
I'm using the 05 yz450f plastics and the 02 yz250 restyle on the front. Only mod is 05 tank, subframe, and airbox.
@@brodyfontenotdoes that front fender bolt right in or do you have to do some fabrication work?

@@brodyfontenotcool. Where did you get the sticker kit from with the new front decal?
@@RockRoadd I got everything individually from decal works
So does the 03-05 yz450 shrouds work with the tan or do you have to get the tank as well?
You have to get the 03-05 tank also, and you have to make brackets to put it on. I think I covered it in one of my other videos.
Thanks man i really appreciate it. @SingleTrackChannel
How was sourcing parts?
It wasn't too bad, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC had most of the parts we needed, and ebay had the parts to do the 2005 450 plastic conversion.
Stop being scared of it and open it upp 👍🏻 that run in plenty now it revs to at least 10k
Don't worry, the sand mountain video is next
How do you like the automatic, no shifting gears.
