250 SX-F Killing The Trails
Just because it's a motocross bike, doesn't mean I can't go and rip the trails...
*controversial topic* but I think moto bikes are better for trails than trail bikes, just saying

Final Steps To Making This 20 Year Old Engine Look Brand New!
Did you do all of your valve shim adjustments before putting the cams back in?
Yeah, I usually do all the adjustments before putting the cam back in, and if you are not sure, it is easier to put the cam in without it being on the chain, to check clearances.
Removing the tensioner. I called Dirt Tricks, they didn't have an answer ? They only said how to install it. From what I can see, it doesn't compress, and doesn't come out.
Did it have a problem when you installed it or ran the bike? Mine worked fine right away and is still working fine.
I thought mine was clean!
Where did you get a fmf from?
I got it from ebay for a 2005 yz450f, but it was hard to find even two years ago, so it will probably be even harder to find now.
You have sockets in both forks?
Yeah, I have the sockets in both forks
Full fmf exhaust pro taper handle bars gonna be nice I can’t wait!
I’m building 2000 yz426 have new weisco piston new jug, head everything ready to be put back together just waiting on a new crankshaft to come in
Nice looking setup BTW. Would of like to seen them on the bike.
Billet and forged are 2 different types of production. Billet is milled from solid block of aluminum. Forged is liquid aluminum poured into A mold. Mold is broken after cooling. Billet is superior and appears to be what you have.
I have an 04 and i recently took the linkage off to clean and regrease but i noticed that the main linkage arm can move side to side while on the frame just asking if this is normal
They can move side to side, a little bit. As long as it moves freely and has no front to back play when you pull on it, it is good.
So dope 🔥🔥🔥 been hunting for a cr25. Came across your channel. 🔥🔥🔥
That thing is out right beautiful
Did you reuse the stock o-ring on the tensioner? I didn’t see it in the video.
Yes, I think in my case the o-ring stayed in the cylinder so that is why it wasn’t in the video
Sell it to me
Nice bike dude
how do you not foul plugs in the technical stuff? cuz i’ll be riding stuff like that constantly clearing it out and still fouling plugs
My best guess is the Lectron carb... Because I have around 150 hrs with 32 to 1 fuel, on this bike and never fouled a plug, I just replace them around 10 to 15 hrs. I'd say you might be running rich. Maybe lean it out and see what happens.
@@brodyfontenot does the lectron adjust to the plug getting gunked up?
It adjusts for temperature, elevation, humidity, etc, but it still has to be the right mixture setting
good vid keep it up
Picking one up Friday found a 2020 with 14 hours on it for a steel so pumped to twist that throttle
The real question is where are you st
What tool did you use to compress the spring
It's a Tusk valve spring compressor from Rocky Mountain ATV: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-valve-spring-compressor-p
You gay
Give me your instagram so i can send you a video of my bike that make weird noise so you csn tell me if thst is timing chsin
Hey, where did you find the foam and seat cover? I've been looking for a while. I can't find anything for my 426
I got it all from guts racing (www.gutsracing.com/)... but I restyled the bike to 2005 YZ450 plastics and seat, so it is not the stock seat any more.
Crispy as fuck
What a Beauty! Love the Steel Fame YZ's ive got 2000 WR400f but want to find a nice YZ426 next - Definitely the most Brutal of the YZ line up! 👍
sick riding bro! trails look flowy and fun!
Is that the stock tank or an aftermarket tank
Clarke desert tank with custom mounts
Aint rebuild shit. Looks fresh out the dealership
$3900 bike, blown top end. ruclips.net/user/shorts1T1YG4ZAwN4
Nice bike
Nice bike
To start it do I have to keep the valve in?
Use the decompression valve to get it to top dead center, release the valve, and then kick it hard. Repeat this until it starts, and if it won’t start try messing with the carburetor
I kicked it third kick the other day and it started, thanks I would try it again bit the shifter stripped
MAGA 2024!!!
I'm first❤
Is there a serial number that I can look up to know if mine is a 400 or a 426?
If you look at the vin, on the front of the frame, the year will be the tenth digit from the top. You can look up a chart for this but 98=w 99=x 00=y 01=1 02=2. I think the 400's were 98 & 99 and the 426's were 00 - 02.
@@brodyfontenot thx man
That's insane depreciation even with the damage.
Very tidy old girl
did you put red or blue Loctite on the cam caps? I didn't put any on my exhaust cam cap. I also torqued it to about 80 - 85 inch pounds. Do you think that's good? sometimes it keeps me up at night worrying that one day im going to ride it and it will rattle off and mess my engine up.
I used blue loctite on them, 80 to 85 inch lbs is enough, just don’t over torque them because that is a mess if it’s own (the cam can lock up). The right torque with no loctite will hold, but loctite will give you some extra security.
@@brodyfontenot Thanks for the reply. Needed the extra opinion on it. It had me worried that I didnt tighten it enough but i didnt want to overtighten it like you said because i heard about cams locking up or destoying headed because of that.
@@brodyfontenot Im also having a little trouble with my bike. Same year as yours. 2002 yz426f. It wont kickstart. I dont know what to do. The bike will run if pulled by a truck and dumped into gear but it wont kick start for some reason. It has plenty of compression, a completely rebuilt carb, and the engine is now in time and the valve clearances seem to be in spec. For exhaust atleast. I didnt have the right feeler gauges to check the intake but i had 0.15mm which wouldnt fit so i figured they were in spec. I found that the ignition coil resistance was out of spec so im buying a brand new OEM one. I really hope that will fix it because this bike is being a pain. Just thought id ask you incase you ever had something like this happen. I searched forums everywhere but couldnt find answers to my current problem.
@@JacksonHoff-u6q Make sure you are doing the starting technique right, my bike is different because it has a different cam with decompression built in. But if you aren’t doing it right it is very hard to start and probably won’t start. There are videos of it online
@@brodyfontenot its not that. i think its something else thats wrong with it i just cant figure it out.
426 is faster up those hills huh?
I think it was faster this day, we changed gearing on the 426 from 14 to 13 front sprocket and didn't change it on the cr. The cr with the 14 is for sure faster than the 426 with a 14.
Nice!! Looks like fun!
Damn thats a huge hill
We need to see more rpms brotha
that's wide open, the exhaust needed to be repacked
can you do a video on how you install the carb and how to connect the hoses
I kind of covered carb install in this video: ruclips.net/video/b-jYfVAqb6I/видео.html Just make sure the subframe and air box is off so you can get it into the bike Didn't directly cover carb hoses, but when I did them, I just followed how they were originally installed. You can see their routing in this video: ruclips.net/video/_T8Ar6reAng/видео.html
Cr the best
Kickstarting technique not quite right. Need boots!
Didn’t know how to start it back then, now I can start it with flip flops lol
What a beast
Good riding those are some pretty cool hills, almost looks like nevada/utah terrain.
Yeah it’s in western nevada
@@brodyfontenot Right On i live in Winnemucca its not to bad out here we have a little bit of everything.
can i get a link to the exhaust please?
Silencer for 03-05 yz450 which I used but it is out of stock right now: www.fmfracing.com/products/powercore-4-044222 You might have to just find it on ebay or something, I think that's what I had to do, because I think they stopped making them... Just look up: FMF 044222 I couldn't find the header anywhere and I think they stopped making them too.
@@brodyfontenot thank you
what jetting does your yz426f have?
I think it says in this video: ruclips.net/video/_T8Ar6reAng/видео.html
