    Same problem with my 2022. If you override it, it feels nervous and hard to control. But if you slow down and ride in control and have smooth throttle control it's easier to ride

    Good stuff, Ping. I can remember buying a bike from the shop and never touching the clickers. Why? Because no one taught about it. That's just how it was. I often wonder how much better and safer my racing would have gone.
    Question: What is your favorite STOCK bike of all time? I have two: The 1998 YZ400 and the 2002 YZ250F. Appreciate you and GL always keepin' it real, and not becoming "do gooders" like alot of other folks.

    My forks 7mm stock . I was lazy and just rode my first 2x sessions on flogged out sand tracks with 112mm sag. Only early days yet but I'll Def try these settings .. oh and another note the airfilter stays sooooo much cleaner there is no ram air vents from the front anymore . The air intake is kind of ontop of the motor.

    I really love my new Honda but this new YZ450 has me wondering if I should switch I need to ride one.

    • @mxr248
      @mxr248 Год назад +1

      I rode the new Honda and did not like the power nor the front end over my yz. The Honda power seems really week compared to the Yamaha. Also the Yamaha is more predictable and goes wherever you point it.

    • @jonruger
      @jonruger Год назад +2

      @@mxr248 a 23? I actually have a custom mellow map because it was so aggressive stock. I had a 19 YZ450 and the Honda is definitely meaner and yes the handling is not for the faint hearted but I’m used to it and like that feel. That’s why I’m interested in the new YZ everyone says it finally has that front end tracking in the corners you always lose some high speed stability with it but that’s how I’ve always preferred my bikes anyways. I can handle almost tank slapping if you get to lose but hate a bike that feels unplanted up front in the corners.

    • @mxr248
      @mxr248 Год назад +1

      @@jonruger I have got the 2016 yz450 on up to corner ridiculously good and still have the stability. My friends were wondering how I’m even passing them mid part of the corner of a off camber.. plus sand and other tracks I can point anywhere and it will go. I can shoot across other ruts in corners without effort. They rode my yz’s and love them.. now several have switched and another is selling his Kawasaki to get a Yamaha. My friend has the new Honda with Vortx mapping and some other mods and it’s very mellow compared to the Yamaha. Even rode a guys brand new 23 Honda and same. But they like that no hit feeling. Mine I have so it rolls on smooth for a bit but if you twist good it hits.. I’m waiting for the dealers around here to get the new 23 yz. But it’s winter here so have to wait and ride when spring hits.

    • @jonruger
      @jonruger Год назад +1

      @@mxr248 they hit very hard im not sure where you get this from. Of all the newer 450s I’ve rode the Hondas are hands down the most aggressive even all the shootout test riders say that. I had a 16 YZ as well and it was kind of a dog very heavy feeling bike the 19 was only a few pounds lighter but it feels like 20 this new one is even lighter.

    • @jonruger
      @jonruger Год назад

      @@mxr248 almost 20 years ago Hondas definitely felt more mild and less aggressive than the 426/450 but that hasn’t been the case for awhile. I’m not brand loyal I’ve owned all the bikes but GasGas so I can be objective about them.
