I think there are American fast food restaurants in shopping malls all over the world, haha!
I like your aimless walking. Although you sometimes get lost, it doesn't matter. Maybe you will find many pleasured surprises unexpectedly!
Araneta City seems to be a very developed city, a very interesting urban adventure tour, thank you very much for sharing! 👍🥰🙏
South East Asia is more advanced than Middle East and South Asia.
Southeast Asia is more developed than East Asia, S.Korea, and Japan. The Philippines is by far the best in Southeast Asia.
Are there only shopping malls in Manila? 😅
Israel, UAE, Qatar, Saudi and Bahrain I guess are modern areas in the middle east, the rests are troubled countries
True!
@@ProudChinoywhat is Israel?
Quezon City is massive. It's dubbed as city of the stars. Most celebrities reside in QC. It is home to giant media companies none in Makati n BGC. With exciting night life the whole stretch of Timog, Morato and Quezon Avenues are old time favorites among the locals. Go to UP Diliman the biggest university campus just near the Memorial circle.
😂
Zane's becoming one of my new fave foreign vloggers. I don't watch as much now, probably 3-4 unlike before where I juggle between a looot of them. Seems like a nice dude.
Agree.
MANILA seems one of the advance MegaCity in the World. i lived a few months in L.A, California but the city itself seems poor alot of beggars and homeless people in the streets alot of crimes as well like mass shootings and gangs. the Infrastructure and business district of Manila looks more modern and developed Alot of Tall skyscrapers in MANILA. and also you cant get boring coz. its very massive metropolis and has alot to offers like it gets almost all of Western brands and alot to explore both local and modern areas that makes up Metro Manila.
Yes, Quezon City is the biggest City in all cities in Metro Manila. It was once the capital of the country before returning it back to Manila City. You cannot explore Quezon City in 1 day, there are so much to see in the city.
Araneta Coliseum is known to have the historic Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier lll, billed as the "Thrilla in Manila", was the third and final boxing match between WBA and WBC heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, and Joe Frazier, for the heavyweight championship of the world. and its also a regular events place for all kinds of basketball including the recently concluded FIBA World Cup
Interesting fact about Thrilla in Manila! Awesome! Thanks for sharing
araneta coliseum was the biggest covered coliseum in the world until 1963. it hosted memorable events and concerts including that of nat king cole's in 1961.
i've seen famous american singers perform at the big dome like john legend, michael bolton, richard marx, jason mraz, ashanti, boyz 2 men (twice), natalie cole, philip bailey of earth, wind, & fire, etc.
That’s Awesome ✌️👍👍👌👍
that random Karen giving u the death stare at Manam was hilarious lol
Places and surnames in the Philippines are have strong spanish roots. Thus the Que in Quezon is pronounced as 'keh' like que pasa, que hora.
Points of Interest:
Eastwood - a business district but a very different vibe because of the unique architecture of the buildings
UP Diliman - strolling
La Mesa Eco Park - nature trip
Unfortunately, QC Memorial Circle seems not well properly maintained.
not sure if the La Mesa Ecopark is open again. it closed with ABS
BGC will be having a subway soon.
It is pronounce as Ke-zon not Kay-saan as others telling here😂
Visit the Carnival in Marikina RiverPark!🎉
Oh yeah to answer your question about where to in Quezon (Ke-Zon not K-Zon) city...
Inside the University of the Philippines campus (adjacent is another mall Called U.P Town Center) walkable and connected by a bridge
Eastwood City - a small CBD with malls and few open spaces
Maginhawa - a food strip
I have walked through these malls countless times before for many years, but not recently though, but for some reason I got hooked with the way you showcased these places as if it's the first time I'm seeing them. Kudos to you Zane for highlighting these places that have become almost too trivial for most locals.
Bro. Quezon City. You pronounced it as Kwaye-zon which is incorrect. It should be pronounced as Kay-zon as in the folk song by Doris Day "Que sera sera...whatever will be, will be." Have a nice day. Love your vlogs.
KEH not KAY
pronounced K-zon
I'm happy I saw myself in your vlog ❤️
KEH-zuhn, The word Quezon is pronounced as KEH-zhun, just like in Spanish. You mispronounced it so often in the last 2 videos and I cringed harder each time.
I find it weird when people don't know at least SOME Spanish, especially if they're from the Americas.
Fun fact EDSA is an acronym that stands for Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue
University Of The Philippines is near QC Circle its also a big campus to explore
Be careful, always take care of your belongings, there are many exploitative here in the Philippines
Luv your videos Sir, its really entertaining. I live in the province but Ive been in SM north when iwas 12 years old , now im 21 and i can barely remember some of the places but it feels very nostalgic , i miss going there with my siblings
Love that your channel is growing fast Zane. Well deserved! And you are in the right country for fast growth. The people are so approachable, generous, and welcoming! 👊🏼😌
Not sure if you went to Eastwood City already. It has its own community with many condos and it has 2 malls . Each mall has cinemas ( 4 in each mall ) , many restaurants , stores , 2 groceries ( Robinson’s and Rustan’s Marketplace ) etc
To walk and travel around the metro is interesting and it is the easiest way to familiarize and soak yourself to the ways and culture of the filipino people.
When in public places, dont hesitate to interact to people.... you will be surprise on how the locals are so accomodating and friendly and helpful they are...
Keep it up brother and welcome to the philipines...
Quezon City is actually pronounced: Kay-saan-si-ty.
I’ve spent a lot of time there. Enjoying your channel by the way. Great job, Zane!
When Taking a Taxi Here in the Philippines.... Don't ask HOW MUCH... TAXIS are Metered.... It is Illegal to ask you how much...or its up to you... They are scammers...
You should have gone further after shake-shack, which is another part of SM mall called The Block, its where the high end shops are. Visit Eastwood City instead. Its different vibe, small commercial complex patterned to look like San Francisco. Its part of Quezon City also.
Escape Manila and visits island like , siargao, palawan( el nido, coron, Puerto princesa, amanpulo) ... leyte as well,
He’s Been TO SIARGAO ALREADY HE HAS A Videos On That Island Already, Last Time He Was in The Philippines ✌️✌️✌️
Hi Zane, happy to see you came back to the Philippines.
By the way, you're actually mispronouncing Quezon City as "Kwezon City." Quezon is pronounced as "Kesson" like Wesson in Smith and Wesson.
Mabuhay!
Tour the University of the Philippines near QMC. Thats the best university of the Philippines.
Zane.....wait! ...you want to tip someone for NOT scamming you??? Does baseline service now assume a rip-off. Damn!
I'm getting ready for my trip to the Philippines. I've been watching your vlogs like cramming for a big test. Thank you so much for all that you do.
Quezon City is the City. Araneta City is just the name of the place, like a branding...
احبك من العراق استمر 🇮🇶🇮🇶🇮🇶
Take the MRT to SM North, the last station. Basically the MRT runs through EDSA. From SM North, you can go to Quezon Memorial Circle.
Greetings from USA! Quezon City memorial will have a subway underground station built hopefully by the end of December 2023 or next year 2024
Never take taxis. NEVER. Not even GrabTaxi.
You also missed out on some pretty good footage by not going through Farmer's Market and Cubao X. Another day, perhaps?
dang, hearing "kweyzon" over and over!
Jungkook’s 3D was in the background music, love that new song 💜💜💜
Quezon City is the largest city in terms of population while Davao City in terms of land area.
I just finished binge watched your vlogs in South Korea. If you came back to the PH, I can tour you around in Metro Manila ☺️ stay safe and keep uploading vlogs.
Hi zane. Pls have stickers at your hand. Pinoy vloggers do that.. just distribute those small stickers to possible subscribers.
Market Market in BgC can print you those stickers.. at cheap price :)
Try To Interact to as many locals You Encounter... It is more Fun ... exciting and you can get Informations from them....
Also in the circle is the museum of the cars of the president of the Philippines, the presidential cars of the different presidents from the beginning like the Cadillacs, Benz , Rolls Royce etc.
QC is the largest city in Metro Manila.Davao city is the largest city in the Phil.
That's not the largest city the largest city is davao probably the richest city.
You can take the LRT Southbound. Get off at the last station EDSA Taft. Transfer to the LRT, get off at Vito Cruz Station. Walk to CCP and Star City.
You look like you're in a hurry, please don't because Quezon City is huge. You should also go to the campus of the University of the Philippines in Diliman which is very near the Quezon City Circle.
Vloggers who went there have skyrocketed their views and subs. It's a huge campus so don't be in a hurry just so you can upload a video. You won't enjoy your travel that way sir.
Manila was the capital before and a law was passed making Quezon City the capital
Hope you can also visit Eastwood City Libis Quezon City its the Hollywood of the Philippines
I'm born and raised in Quezon City, and you might spend like 3-4 days to explore the wonders of this place. Some recommendations:
1. As you visited the Quezon Memorial Circle, you might as well visit the night since everything will be more vibrant (esp the fountain!!)
2. Food tour in Maginhawa street, Diliman is a must!
3. For BGC/ Poblacion vibes, visit Tomas Morato Area during weekend nights! You'll have fun
4. Visit UP Diliman should you need to relax with nature. It is hands down one of the best universities in the Philippines. 🙌🏼
5. Brave the traffic in Fairview/Commonwealth area. Rush hour gets crazy and the famous quote "2 hours travel time from QC to QC" is proven on these places🤣
These are some of my recos. Im sure there are alot more from others, but you may want to start from here :)
You forgot Eastwood city is a part of quezon city boundary of Pasig city
Some other places you can explore in Quezon City -
Maginhawa St - food street that has become popular, many small unique restaurants catering to student budgets, you have to take a cab going there. If you want to save on cab fare, take the mrt to araneta city and then get a cab to maginhawa st
Banawe St - a whole street of mostly Chinese food restaurants and cafes
There's also an Ace Water Spa nearby but I suggest going to the newer Ace Water Spa Branch in Kapitolyo Pasig (just a quick 5-10 min cab from BGC). This is like a water playground with lots of Jacuzzi -like pools.
Morato / Scout area - this area is full of restaurants catering to middle to upper class clientele.
Zane! You should have business cards with your vlog name made while you’re there in Manila. It’s cheap there!
It's not pronounced as Kwezon but Quezon as in KEZON..
Southeast Asia is more developed than East Asia, S.Korea, and Japan. The Philippines is by far the best in Southeast Asia.
I've had that same interaction with taxi's a few times over there. I don't know, maybe when they know you're a foreigner, they check to see if you're willing to just offer some arbitrary amount that seems small to you, but high for them? But yeah, I always just say "meter".
Cubao is Awesome 👏should go inside Farmers Market is unique my friend 👋
Quezon City is the biggest among the 16 cities and 1 municipality of Metro Manila.
I noticed that you are not having verbal interactions with the locals.
I think you should.
This will help you get more subscribers as we Filipinos love blogs having us as your content of interests
Welcome back.
The subway system is under construction come back in 2030 lol
Trifate Lifestyle. The 2 young American guys were always there. I think they lived in a condo nearby for a year.
The taxi wasn't going to scam you. He was just hoping to get more from your generosity. You would pay what you suggested and what he then agreed. Using the meter hardly pays for his family rice purchase. These guys get a lot of bad flak. Sometimes they earn it, but you gotta put yourself in their shoes.
Some says the reason why there is no train going to BGC is to keep out ordinary Pinoys from going there. Just like in some areas in the US. The rich want the place for themselves. But right now thanks that a subway is being constructed going to BGC
Zane, since u r in Manila u visit Manila Zoo. They said the former ex mayor Isko Moreno have improved that place amd it is nicer compare before. U check that out Zane!
Go to the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City.
it's pronounce as "ke-zon" city. as in anywhere else, just be careful. enjoy!
Gateway Mall 2 is brand new expansion. Most shops are closed still but some operated early. I love gateway 2 since it’s not crowded
I didn't realize that Philippines is very western compare to other asian countries
Carefully check your facts, please. Thank you.
You have to eat at Bacolod Inasal! It’s so delicious! Be careful with those taxis, they like to scam the non Filipino.
sir, the largest city not only in Phil. but in the world in terms of area is Davao City.
Zane, when i retire i plan to stay longer loke few months in Manila possibly just rent out there. Manila is a very huge and diverse place. U can’t see all in just a month only. U need to stay there like 6 months to be able to access all the modern hotels, resto etc.
i hate when ta\xi drivers ask how much we'll pay when just turning the meter will be more accurate its like wtf!!!i suggest all passengers to pay attention to meters so u can reference your next ride if you need to dispute a taxi trying to over charge you
please do a vlog at University of the Philippines Diliman Quezon City campus
Go to trinoma, medamall or go Baguio City and Tagaytay
U wwtch concerts in Araneta Coliseum.
Go to EastWood very near Araneta, just 1 mile away and Centris
EDSA is the main avenue/artery where ALL vehicles in Metro Manila are on, getting from northern Metro Manila across to southern Metro Manila. TRAFFIC is the name of the game on that God-forsaken road. North of Araneta is SM City. The Quezon ("kezon") Memorial Circle is, basically, at the heart of Q.C. with "valves" that lead into different exits to different parts of QC. QC is quite BIG and dizzying. You really should study the map as best you could before attempting to get to a particular spot. One good thing about the city is that it has malls and quaint coffee shops to relax in that are very much spread out - less dizzying than, say, BGC - with BGC's commercial shops and restaurants right next to each other. And, yes: vloggers don't really travel to SM City. BGC, Makati, until MOA is all they ever do, really.
You totally missed the Farmers Market!
The Farmers Market is on the ground floor, you were on the right track before you went back up to Araneta City Mall.
The Farmers Market (we simply call it "Farmers") is one of the biggest wet markets in Metro Manila known for seafood. It has vegetable, fruit, meat and seafood vendors (retail). It's one of the cleaner ones but still, don't wear your best outfit, lol.
When we want to have seafood, this is where we go to buy them, because most smaller local wet markets don't have the variety of seafood that Farmers has available.
Unfortunately it's not like Dampa where there are restaurants nearby that can cook the seafood for you. I've heard there's like 1 or 2 such restos in Farmers but it's not like Dampa that's become famous for them. Personally have not tried the restos there in Farmers because we always buy seafood to cook at home.
Edit: wet markets have peak times. That's normally early morning 7am-10am and late afternoon 3pm- 5pm when people go to buy ingredients for lunch/ dinner. The off peak hours, vendors are usually resting. Better to go during peak hours to see the action, preferably morning when seafood stocks are fresh :)
Greenwich has a sisig pizza. U try it. I’ve tried it in the past when am there in the PH and it is good. There is no Greenwich in our area here in the U.S. and i miss that sisig pizza.
QC Circle is far from Gateway Cubao. Good choice you took a taxi.
Are there only shopping malls in Manila? 😅😅😅
We been here in Quezon City 3 weeks now and yes it’s so Westernized.
Ride lrt also from baclaran to Manila
its pronounce as "Kehson City" not kweyzone
15:25 20 minutes to go 1.4km man thats brutal
Pls go to tagaytay to escape the humidity for a while only 2 hrs away from manila tagaytay city
CPA Chicken Pork Adobo, very good with rice
CPA - acronym for chicken pork adobo
the araneta who owns the area, are the master franchise owner of tacobell and pizza hut, that is why it is prominent there
Love all the videos and watch them all but I’ve seen nothing in Manila so far that makes me want to visit
Pronounced Keh.zon
EDSA is pronounced as:
Ed (like the name Ed Sheeran) and
Sa (like in NASA) = Edsa 🙂
Visit the new sky garden of mall of asia
CPA is chicken pork adobo
Quezon City is the capital of Phil not Manila
You should grab a drink at Pegasus in QC.
Pronunciation: kezon city😅
It pronounced as /ke son/, not /kweison/.
Go to Eastwood city in Libis Quezon City!
Thank you Zane for going to QMC. I used to frequent that place during my childhood/student days. Felt like I'm on a nostalgia trip. More power to you and your vlogs :)
