Dorman should still make this in the USA. Maybe this item should fall below the standard markup/profit margin budget for them. Especially since this has been such a problem for so many people for so many years.

Chrysler's Pentastar is anything but, "incredibly popular," it's merely the only offering or the cheapest offering in many of Chrysler's most popular vehicles. The difference may seem small but it's actually very significant
After all those pieces, you still have that exhaust ducting adding extra, unnecessary, heat load to the heads and cooling system and over time it moves the head structure unevenly.....It IS a disposable engine from the start....
I got three cars from the '70s. My Ford does not have air conditioning so I only have six circuits in the entire car. Everything is reliable, parts are plentiful and they're affordable. It's all so highly modifiable. I don't get the purpose of these new engines with so many working parts.
Valve train is still trash engine locks oil to the top of the engine. Get premature cam wear from rocker arm bearing. I've had three 3.6 pentastar engines do the exact same thing.
Out of everything he listed only things I've seen personally go bad was the oil filter housing and the solenoid. Ive never had a crossover housing go bad or manifold bolts break (I'm in the south though) pentastar is probably one of the most reliable v6s out currently at least out of the big 3

What should they make it out of? Cast iron? Billet steel? Billet aluminum? Latinum? 😊 Who knows what will last. Oring failures everywhere are a problem. Gaskets always seemed to last decades.
These are dumpster fire engines placed in cars that have miserable quality issues. Why would anyone want to extend the misery and pain of ownership with these replacement parts?
"Incredibly popular" you mean incredibly unreliable motor that requires aftermarket components to reach levels of reliability from other oe engines lol
Stuff like this is why i still drive 20 year old cars. I dont have too but i wont buy new till im too old to do my own work. New cars are overpriced cheap garbage.
Like Ford and GM, many of their parts are made in China. I have had 2 failed transaxles on my 12 Ford Focus, and I'm not even mentioning the horror stories on my turbos. I changed my synthetic oil every 4-5k miles.
As long as you also replace rockers lifters and cams as well, 60tho tick is real, dealing with that on my 2015 jk now, junk motor from manufacturer, my 97 1500 4.3 200tho with no major issues....shouldve left the i6 alone
$2K worth of necessary upgrades (with labor) so Stellantis could save $50 per car. What a disgrace.
It's called greed
And sell you another car within their lifetime.
Utterly disgraceful. Very reason i stick to Toyota and Honda, still Lots of due diligence before purchase
Good to see aftermarket parts companies coming up with reasonable solutions to OEM greed and sabotage.
You know it's bad when Dorman can out engineer you
I wish you still made the oil filter housing/ cooler in the USA
Doesn’t that suck

Buy a mishimoto cooler. Japanese has excellent craftsmanship. They also make a screw in oil filter to prevent dry starts on the 3.6
I just did one a few months ago and made a video on it.

Dorman has always been a reliable option for me and my cars, for many decades.
The future of the car industry is used cars. Glad there is companies doing this hopefully with more engines and maybe producing entirely new engines.
I'm amazed there's not a single brand that has a dead reliable solid vehicle that they keep on with and tweak to keep it somewhat modern.

Should’ve been metal from the factory
What about upgraded lifters and rockers? Lol
Change your oil?
The 3.6 in my Jeep runs great. I have replaced the oil filter housing with an aluminum one.
Good. If Chrysler won't do it then we can. Fuck em.

About left side lifter kit and cam shaft ????
I hope JT the online mechanic sees this. If I knew how to send it to him, I'd do it.

Yes, I've got to see it.
You guys should solve their biggest problem, which is the rocker arms.
I’m thinking of getting a 2021 Durango is this year have these problems?
I need this where can I get
Aren't we forgetting the rocker arms?
What else is missing in this list of doorman?
There does need to be a complete parts kit.
Where's the rockers and lifters? Why not make an aluminum upper and lower intake manifold.
lol. You’ll need more than that. 😊
The way it should have been built from the factory. Also needs an oil drain back valve, Baxter has the fix for that, but very pricy.
If only the upper and lower plenums were aluminum
What does it say when Dorman comes to the rescue ? 😂
If mine has any of these problems I would just put a diesel or V8 in it.
I can hear it ticking already
Use liquid moly lifter additive or mos02

They don't sound like upgrades. It sounds like something that should have been done from the beginning.

Bro so throw the whole engine away and do it the right way ?
Maybe soon Chrysler will make the pistons out of plastic.
I hate that it's always described as "popular". I feel like "common" should be used since I don't know anyone that actually likes this engine.
Maybe if they would have built it correctly we wouldn't have to be buying replacements... They should provide anything they mess up for free!!!
