Well, I'm 83 and I started Carnivore (from 1-1/2 years of Keto) a few months before my 83rd birthday. I'm doing quite well. It's helping so much with my health. I've lost 80 pounds and my health is so much improved.

I just turned 64 a few days ago. I'd lost 50 pounds back in the mid-'90s with the Atkins diet. It was before the "net carb" lie. No bars shakes or frozen meals. So I did it on meat, eggs, and veg. I stayed a size 8 for about 10 years. If I ate a cookie a week, it was a big deal. I had a few setbacks involving MRSA which required copious amounts of antibiotics and caused very bad reactions. I had surgery a few years later and then a motorcycle accident. I slowly started putting pounds back on as I became more and more sedentary. I got used to being in pain and then menopause happened. I did not experience much in the way of suffering. It wasn't a big deal. Today, I look up and see I've had a few years of incredible stress and I'm now over 200 pounds. My biggest complaint is the pain, the gas, the bloating, and did I mention the pain? EVERYTHING hurts. I don't exercise because it hurts so I sit still and it hurts. CAN I TELL YOU! I've been eating meat, butter, and eggs for about a week now, ONLY a week and I already have so much energy and the pain is diminishing. I'm looking forward to great things. Thanks for such a great panel. I'm inspired.

For me, menopause was a non-event. I stopped menstruating at 47, and that was it. Nothing happened, no changes, no weird symptoms. But then again, at the time, I had been very low carb and no processed "food" for about 10 years. In my 60s now, and still no issues, happy and energetic.

I've had major changes 2 weeks in. I suffer from chronic uticaria ,food allergies. This year it has been overwhelming. Hives head to toe every night. It is GONE!! Three days in they were GONE!! On top of that I have carried all my fat on my legs and butt since puberty. I've done bodybuilding , calorie reduction. The fat wouldn't move. I looked so funny, muscular upper body, fat bottom. I've lost 7 lbs from my legs and bottom in the last 2weeks finally!! ❤

One point-of-view they did not touch on was if you are surgically put into menopause. That is a totally different process than the natural process they speak about...whether carnivore 10 years or not. I wish they would have at least touched on the difference between aging into menopause or surgically going into it overnight.

I’ve been carnivore for 8 months. Was keto for years prior. Also was on HRT since 2020. I went off all supplements, including HRT before my surgery, which was last September 2023. I was wanting to get off HRT, but was worried about what symptoms I might experience. It was a breeze for me. No problem at all. Never went back. I feel great. I think being full carnivore is what made the difference for me. When I started taking HRT in 2020, I definitely needed it and a felt better. I also had adrenal fatigue. I didn’t sweat when I exercised!I stopped using Flonase, started taking iodine everyday and stopped the intense cardio. Now I focus on long walks. No sunglasses, squats weights and animal based diet. I feel great.

For women who breezed through menopause, great. To say those of us who are dealing with severe symptoms are not necessarily unhealthy, I’ve been eating properly for years.... I can deal with the hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. What I cannot deal with is vaginal dryness and the pain that is associated with it, depression, weight gain, achy joints. HRT terrifies me but I am going forward with it to see if I can manage the overwhelming symptoms. Please do not make women who desperately need help feel like they are doing something wrong or label us as unhealthy because we aren’t joyfully going through this process.

I had pressure like I used to have right before a period and one incident of spotting. This month I had hot flashes for three or four days. Not sure what's going on but I'm assuming my hormones are healing. I used progesterone cream for about 20 years but stopped on February 2, 2020 when I started zero carbs. My 7 month ZC journey has been amazing. No more Afib, irregular heart, hypertension, hypoglycemia, enzyme, or depression. I'm down 11 pounds and one size and off all Rx medication. ZC is amazing and has been easy and delicious.

I did not have a lot of weight to lose (dropped 12 pounds in first two weeks and have stayed around there, 8 weeks in now). Enjoying the positive changes to my body, health and mind and looking forward to what comes along as I practice patience and just stay on this track on the journey ahead. I just turned 60 and have lived a clean lifestyle for over 15 years. When we first started our clean, green journey we followed the “super food longevity” dogma which was all about adding more vegetables and juicing! I felt like crap! Mind you I have never been a sugar addiction but I do love carbs when it comes to potatoes and wine! Never been a fan of bread but my Hubby is a sandwich king! Then I read Suzanne Somers books about ten years ago and we started HRT. I had the middle age spread that I could NOT loose any weight! Also I was starting menopause. With HRT I felt better but the weight was still an issue. So I stopped HRT last year because I was through menopause and did not feel that I need it anymore. I also read about nightshades and the toxins in plants so I told my husband that I was done with the “super foods” because they were just bloating me, making me constipated and I really don’t like them (my body was trying to tell me this for years)!!! Tried keto and it didn’t work because I was trying too many replacement bread recipes for Hubby and a lot of these recipes use too many fats and sweeteners. So now we are mainly carnivore. It has NOT been hard at all! MAINLY because I have always cooked and we eat at home 99% of the time. On the rare occasion that we do eat out, it’s a nice restaurant with great food and atmosphere! Then we to indulge in carbs a little, mainly with a bottle of wine. YES this lifestyle has been an ever evolving journey and each change we make has been an improvement! Thanks for such a great video and topic!

I’m sooooo happy for this video. This is not the first time I’ve watched it and it won’t be the last.
I haven’t gotten on the scale. I’m noticing that my two belly rolls are shrinking and the “newer” one on the top is now smaller than the “older” one below my navel…and that’s enough to be happy when combined with all the other good changes. And this is only at 6 weeks carnivore. It’s only going to get better from here.
These changes alone are making me amazed at how wonderful my body is, how amazing it is that once I started giving it the right fuel, it immediately set about evicting the sugar, reducing the inflammation.
My body is a warrior and it’s been battling for a long time and I just didn’t know it yet. Now it’s winning the fight because it’s finally gotten the backup it needed through the REAL proper human diet.

It's great for those who do not need HRT, but I think I will try it if needed, because yes, menopause is natural, but nature throws women in a dumpster after it does not need us anymore for reproductive purposes and I am not so ready to accept that. It's not only about feeling good and not having hot flashes. Yes, if carnivore helps with lack of estrogen - induced osteoporosis, cardiovascular risk and dementia risk being increased (and even skin dryness or other types of dryness) by no longer having estrogen and you are sure those are not a problem for you, ok go natural, but I do not think nature "cares" about individuals, it cares about the species. So I need to care about me not and only about my species (reproducing and then going to the dumpster).
Great show as always, thank you Kelly, you are great and the ladies had great insights, but I will go with dr. Fit and Fab :-) - Thank you for that show also.

If you need info on menopause I would start with the Australasian Menopause Society website or Jean Hailes. I am a Karnivore (Kiwi carnivore) also a sheep and beef farmer and on HRT. Although these ladies are lovely and have lots of info on being a carnivore or zero carb they are way off on hormone deficiencies!

I swear I'm to the point of applying for disability due to the brain fog, mood swings, hot flashes, etc. I can't even hold down a job! Gaining wait like crazy.. & have had ZERO interest in any kind of social or sex life whatsoever for about 5 yrs. It's looking like this is where my life needs to be headed...asap!

So nice to hear I'm on the right track, I've been carnivore for almost 16 months I'm feeling better, in mood, allergies are gone, skin is clearer, and I'm stronger, I have the strength 💪 to do more than I have in years! I'm not as small as I'd like to be but hey, the scale is just a number.

Really enjoyed this video with you five wonderful ladies. Thank you. I have been carnivore for 5 months now. The healing benefits have been amazing and there is no way on earth I will ever eat carbs again. My chronic IBS is completely healed, my menopausal symptoms have completely gone, my mood has lifted, my teeth are better (so much so that my grown up son visited at Christmas and asked what work I had had done on my teeth!!!) and my mood is more stable and happier. My husband is managing his diabetes through low carb now and his mood swings have completely gone away. This has been our miracle. However, I have put on 4kg in weight. This has been quite stressful to me. I have even tried a three day butter fast but I was so hungry that my low mood started to come back. Plus, goodness knows why, but I put on another one kilogram.
So here I am in my journey and after listening to you five I have decided to try to chill with all this and just eat meat when I am hungry. I do so hope that I lose this weight soon.

It was so nice to see you lovely ladies & to hear your experiences & opinions on this particular subject. I do find it interesting that none of the menopausal ladies feel the need to supplement hormones for longevity / disease inhibition though. I had already gone through 5 yrs post menopause & I was eating a regular diet at the time. Honestly, I felt fine (sleeping well, no hot flashes, etc)...I didn't really have any issues going through perimenopause or menopause. My new functional medicine dr that totally supports keto & carnivore (but doesn't think it solves everything), has just started me on bioidentical hormone replacement. I'd never known that we needed it, until I did my own research as well. There is alot of scientific evidence pointing to the need to supplement for optimization of hormones as we age & I agree with Dr Jaime on this. The supplementation of bioidentical hormones can protect you from a myriad of diseases & deterioration as we age. I became cv for longevity & overall health, but I don't think it's the answer for everything. I'm 5 wks into carnivore & I've gained 3 lbs. I'm praying my body is just healing (like you experienced Kelly😉) from auto immune disease & recovering from habitual calorie restriction & that I'll soon start losing some of the 25 lbs I've gained in the last few yrs, probably due to my hashimotos. I think there's alot of false information out there & we each need to make our own decision, but we also need to do the research & talk with our drs that are knowledgeable on this area...not just follow any certain dogma. That would be no different than the decades of people following the vegan dogma & thinking that a particular diet solves everything...but to each his own. The scare tactics resulting from false information (&the bad estrogen was not bioidentical, it was produced from horse urine)that is still being spread, is doing an injustice to alot of women that could benefit from bhrt. Anyways, thank you for all that you ladies do to help us newbies with regard to the carnivore diet! I love watching each of you!💓

Would be interested in any science on that in women that only eat meat." Protection" etc may only apply to plant toxins, hyperinsulinemia, anti nutrients etc. It carbs/sugar etc. that shorten life.

    • @loriegreen8840
      @loriegreen8840 3 года назад +6

@@elizabethstern4812 I would like that too, but I guess the jury is still out🙄 & we just each have to make the decision, based on our own situation & personal beliefs, including the info we gather & choose to rely on. Considering I'm new to this woe, I obviously take the advice from you long term carnivores, based on your extensive experience & I appreciate it greatly, but with regards to menopause & taking or not taking bhrt - I have yet to find a carnivore with long term experience in that regard. I mean this with all due respect - I just don't feel like eating meat solves everything...& this has & continues to be my only issue with any groups' venues when it comes to advocating a certain lifestyle or way of eating..."just eat more meat" seems to be the answer that's given, for every dilemma. Obviously, our ancestors didn't have the option of hormone replacement, but that doesn't mean that we may not benefit from it... there are in fact, alot of issues that modern medicine can offer benefit from. I guess I'd like to hear from some rather elderly women, that are long lived carnivores & have been examined & show no signs of degeneration due to lack of hormones (osteoporosis, dementia, skin, heart, various disease/ cancer, etc) that could've been helped by supplementation of bioidentical hormones. I chose to switch to carnivore for overall health & longevity... the same reason I've also elected to supplement with bhrt... it's just a very personal choice. Anyways, thank you all once again for the thought provoking conversation...it was very interesting. 😉

I’m 57 and will be 58 July 1. I am starting carnivore. I have been extremely unhealthy for the last 20 years. In 2001 I had twin sons delivered by emergency c-section at 28 weeks. I had pneumonia and was severely anemic. My uterus was full of fibroid tumors and my monthly cycle was so heavy I stayed anemic. One twin went home at a month and a half while the other was in icu his first four months, two and a half of those on a ventilator. When I finally got them home each one had an apnea monitor and one had a pulse oxygen monitor and was on oxygen. It was just me and them. I was physically and mentally exhausted for the next 20 years. One of my twins was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a year old and the other was diagnosed with severe asthma. They are doing amazingly well now but I am just getting back on my feet health wise. I have 100 lbs to lose and want to be healthy. Finding your videos on the carnivore lifestyle has been a Godsend. I’m so scared to go back to this. I miss the simplicity of carnivore. 7 months into trying it I was fatter and sicker than ever, went to dr. After extensive bloodwork found out that I not only had hypothyroidism, I was in menopause and also developed Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. 😟 I was put on different meds and told to start an AIP diet ASAP. I panicked and did so however, that lead me right back to keto which lead me to keto sweets and eventually cocktails while in quarantine and I’m back to feeling fat, sick and tired 😓 oh and did I mention insomnia. Anyway, you ladies really make me want to jump back in and try again. You are all beautiful and seem so youthful and healthy. I guess I have some serious soul searching to do 💜🌺

    • @RiverWoods111
      @RiverWoods111 3 года назад +4

@4everPurple I was just diagnosed with being severally hypothyroid. There was no amount of Carnivore that was fixing that. I was about 2 years in and nothing was moving that. I have a genetic component that was not helping me, as my mom was hypothyroid since age 9. I had been fighting with doctors to look at my thyroid for about 30 years. For all I know I might have been the same as my mom since childhood since my depression goes that far back and a lot of other symptoms. I have started Thyroid, and getting refocused on carnivore. I had fallen off due to the absolute nothing helping me and feeling like crap all the time. Getting all the carbs out of your body will definitely help your body to recover faster and your Thyroid medicine take affect. Dr. Berry's wife Niesha had the same things you are talking about. I encourage you to watch some of her stuff on RUclips, but she is now doing fantastic. She has been able to go off her thyroid. Mine is not autoimmune mine is my thyroid just not working. Basically my thyroid had stopped working or was producing so little thyroid that I couldn't function anymore! OMG! The depression and anxiety were off the charts and the migraines were crazy, and inflammation was also off the charts. But also my throat was swollen about as big as my whole head, and you could see the start of a goiter. My entire face was swollen, and my eyes had become so small because of my swollen eyelids and stuff. I was very sick when I was diagnosed! It didn't happen overnight. I didn't get to a 10.7 TSH over twice the normal range of TSH in my system. Why weren't doctors running full panels, how did this get overlooked.
Anytime you are eating sweets even with no sugar, you are creating an insulin response as if you are eating sugar. That is why your not doing very good on Keto. If you want to do Keto, then do it very clean without any substitutes. That said, veggies can make some people very sick. I am one of those people. I went Keto, but couldn't eat veggies as I would be in pain for 7 days after 3 bites of a veggie of any type. Therefore I defaulted to Carnivore. Although, I cheat sometimes and eat avocados and olives (they are fruit) because I love them. I was born and raised in California and never eating an avocado is not an option to me. Yeah, I have guacamole in my fridge right now! I call myself a ketovore. Hope this helps and I hope you see it as I am a bit late to this video.

EAVEN AS A CHILD i AVOIDED SUGAR BECAUSE i COULD FEEL THAT IT MADE ME FEEL MOODY AND IN MORE PAIN. In 2021 I stared keto and have been carnivore for 3 weeks. I have lost weight but I want to put it back on as soon as I can . I have never been over weight so I was surprised to start losing weight so fast on carnivore.
I have had a lot of pain most of my adult life from a serious neck and head injury as a child.
When I first started carnivore my back was getting ready to go out and I was in in massive pain. On day 2 I woke up with my pain 95% gone. Now, my pain is 99% gone.
My skin is mush improved. People always tell me that I look younger than my years even before carnivore. I smile more and it seems like men of all ages have been noticing me a lot lately. It feels good to be noticed but I am married so I am not looking for more attention from men.
I have been using a home made tallow cream on my skin and I think that has helped my skin a lot. Everyday it seems like I find small improvements. I can't wait for next summer at the beach.

Sometimes you can eat the most amazing clean carnivore woe and still need hormone replacement.
Each person is very definitely different with extremely different life situations.
Ive been diligent for decades with no change in my hormone levels and have most definitely needed hormone supplementation.
We are not unhealthy because our hormones are imbalanced. If a person has had too much stress , death and trauma, the body can only take so much of this without effect.
There are risks not taking them and risks taking them.
Also there is not only oestrogen and progesterone. There is dhea and testosterone too which have an enormous effect if too low.
Exogenous hormones can make life worth living if needed.

I'm just plugging along... I'm not really losing weight here early on. I'm still new at this total carnivore thing. But I had a success today in friends from church taking me out to lunch. I was able to order just the meat on the plate, please, enjoy a ribeye steak, sippin' my way through 2 club sodas, having great conversation with great people. And I am going to keep going with this. I'm going to keep hoping for benefits over the next month, the next year, the next decade, etc.
About hormones and my cycle, I have thought several times over the last several years that I must be starting menopause and then something always happens that brings my cycle on stronger again later after I think that. Apparently all my times of my body have been "irregular" when I was young and all these times when I've thought I was starting menopause was just that my body was that unhealthy and/or that full of inflammation that my cycle was that much effected.
I'm 51. I will turn 52 in June. I've had it brought back on by extended fasting in the past. I've had it brought back on by acupuncture. (According to traditional Chinese medicine I'm NOT old enough for menopause. But I love my acupuncture and it does so so much for me I'm willing to go along with that.) And now as of this very month, being zero carb for just three or four weeks brought on a cycle that was closer to normal compared to almost non-existent last month. oh well. It seems as if it would be nice to never have to deal with that again. lol. But it is what it is and I am going for getting healthier and more functional in my life. That is what matters.
I have had health problems since birth. I always liked veggies and meats both. I didn't grow up indulging much of a sweet tooth. I ate sweets when I was served sweets. Or sometimes I even didn't like certain sweets and did not eat more than a bite or two. But as we all know there are lots of unhealthy carbs that are not "sweets" and I did eventually grow in my adult life to eat too much of some breads and pastas and to like some kinds of sweets ...while always switching doctors trying to find help for my 5 millions symptoms and syndromes and truly severe, life-effecting problems... and for the first 38 years of my life never finding one doctor smart enough to figure out that I have celiac disease. I have had several big traumas in my life. I know I am not alone. Lots of people can relate to just being unhealthy and struggling to be a happier person, struggling to be able to function at all like a "normal person".
Getting healthier, to be able to feel well, to be able to do the things in life that need to be done and maybe even the things that I just want to do, these are goals that many people would be amazed to be able to believe that the goal could ever be met. I want to do whatever it takes and have some quality of life. If it is possible, I will do it. Lord willing!

Someone once told me to think about the healing process in this way....For every year you have been eating a less than optimal diet, expect it to take at least that many months to heal. Of course, some will heal faster and some will take longer.

I'm carnivore (not 100% as I still have coffee with cream almost every day) for about 10months now. I haven't lost any weight, but I've definitely lost cm on my waist and hips. My breasts actually got a little bit bigger (hubby is happy). I feel so much better though, and stronger, than before. At the moment I don't do a lot of hard exercise, just basic strength training twice a week.
Stress is also an issue but since starting carnivore I've been more patient, able to handle situations better (coming from our two teenager boys whom I home school, as well as my husband - I think you can take their word for it). I have experienced a couple hot flushes before going carnivore (46yrs then), but ever since, I only have hot flushes (and cramps in my calves and feet) at night (now I'm 47yrs) when I've had too much coffee (4 mugs+) that day. I basically wake up at night, and within a couple seconds my body flashes with heat, then I slowly cool off, and within 10min. feel much better, and go back to sleep.
Dr. Ken Berry's advice of regularly taking iodine (or eating fish, but I sometimes react to fish/seafood) has also taken the breast tenderness away at "that time of the month". The next might be too much info for some, but my period has also become very heavy for the first two days, and then almost nothing. Also no cramps, breast tenderness is better, mood is better, a tiny, little bit of PMS at times - not always.
I felt that I had to share my experience here as I'm struggling to find more information w.r.t. peri-menopouse/menopouse while being a carnivore. I'm not big on social media and groups. And yes... I'm trying to cut coffee down, and hopefully will get there in a month or two's time.

It is hard not to focus on the scale when that is how you have based your success for YEARS! I know I am not going to look like Kelly at 272 pounds sooooo the scale is still telling a story!

I definitely get hot flashes if I eat sugar or high carbs. I also flash if I am emotionally triggered. So focusing on my mental health and diet. I want to try carnivore. I currently gluten, dairy and almost grain free was eating rice sparingly. I have celiacs and hashimotos. I tried keto and it helped carb craving. I want my libido bad. It is none existent. I hear carnivore and bring it back. I do exercise. I walk and do yoga. I practice meditation. I sometime to intermittent fasting for quicker recovery with autoimmune flare. I am 56 years old and wt 130 lbs.

I’m 60 & when I started Keto almost 2 years ago my hot flashes stopped & I felt great. I was doing things I couldn’t do in my 40’s. I started carnivore 2 months ago because I was having horrible cravings, hot flashes started back up, I must have been doing something wrong. I did carnivore for a month before throwing in the towel. I am going to try it again and do chicken and fish more and see if that helps. I had a hysterectomy in my 40’s and suffered through the hot flashes w/no HT and I really wish I would have known about Keto or Carnivore at that time. Thanks you so much for this ladies, it has really helped.

Great video, thank you. I was disappointed that menopause due to a full hysterectomy wasn't covered. I believe a lot of women fall into this catagory and wonder if the symptoms and carnivorous cure or management would apply to them. I have been suffering terribly from hourly extreme hot flashes for 12 years. I stopped HRT 6 months ago. I have been hoping ZC would help but I've not had any relief yet. Could this issue possibly be addressed in a future video? 8 months ZC, aged 60, with many other amazing health improvements.

If you don’t want to take anything and you’re already full carnivore, what other options are you considering? I’m not even sure where to begin? I don’t know of any full carnivores who have had this procedure and Dr Seeman already gave some options for people who are struggling. I’m just not sure other than diet, lifestyle changes, or pills what more I could possibly recommend. If you find someone or something that’s helpful, please let me know and I’ll be glad to pass it on. ❤️

    I’m 75 and I love the Carnivore lifestyle .
I feel so much more calm, no more inflammation, great sleep, early to bed, early to rise, and energy off the charts.
    I did Keto in 2017 and lost 34lbs in 4 1/2 months got down to 130… lowered my A1C to 5.1 from 6.4 .
The only thing with Keto was I got diverticulitis, so painful, from eating too many nuts, and 😱the fat bombs started putting weight on me . 🥀
I quit Keto cause my doc and daughter were really concerned about my cholesterol, but I should have never done that, cause I don’t believe cholesterol is all that bad.
When gained all my weight back and my LDL’s were even higher 297, than when I was on keto it was just 230, I said that’s it .
So, I took a ten mg statin at my doc’s request and brought my cholesterol down to 165, just by taking them every 5 days… But being frustrated with quitting keto I decided to do carnivore after praying and with Devine guidance… the 2 year sabotage was going down, and I dropped 18 pounds in 2 months and then I stalled out …so now my diet app says I’ll be 130 by Jan 14th instead of Dec.14th.
I was hoping to be 130 by New Year’s Eve cause I’m going to a wedding, but the stall set me back.
I’m on a losing streak again so maybe I’ll make my goal weight after all. Here’s hoping.
Love Carnivore even more than Keto, I don’t miss the veggie, they messed with my stomach. Good luck on your journey. It’s been great for me .

If I only had hot flashes and mood swings... Im 64 yrs.old, and after going through menopause 7 years ago, and having moderate symptoms go away for several years, out of the blue, I developed severe genitourinary syndrome. I experienced pain 24 hours a day, urinary urgency along with the anxiety of not sleeping and having a life changing health condition. BHRT changed my life when I thought I might never be well again. I have recently began a carnivore diet and I hope it helps my condition and maybe not have to take the hormone replacement but I am skeptical somewhat given my history and the severity of lack of estrogen.

61, fit and fabulous. Sleep is great. Hot flashes for 10 years, but they are more “warm flashes”’ than anything too troubling. However, long term high intensity exercise has left my joints bone on bone. Not great but it’s where I am. 3 years keto, 6 months carni. Hoping with long term carni that some improvement will be noted.

Mesopause is about more then "symptoms" such as hot flashes and raging emotions. Menopause can have many deleterious effects on the body. It can change your eyesight, cause weight gain, cause sever enough bone loss to lead to osteoporosis, effect mental clarity and memory. Basically, Menopause can be a foot on the gas pedal to rapid aging. Mainstream HRT is made from horse urine, and can cause breast cancer and a host of other problems. Think about it, why would estrogen derived from a horses urine be something you would ever want to put into your body? What Dr. Seeman was talking about is Bio-Identical hormone replacement therapy, hormones that are biologically identical to ours. Bio-identical hormones pose far less risk to the women who use them. In fact, actress Susan Somers has been a quite vocal advocate of bio-Identical hormone therapy in both men and women. She is a breast cancer survivor and she has used them for years. Do you really think that Dr. Jamie Seeman, as a gynecologist specializing in women's health, would advise her patients to use any type of therapy that would cause them to develop breast cancer? Maybe, you could have her back again to answer questions and discuss this very important topic again, in more detail.

@@luloops, I agree. Women age three times faster than men when our hormones begin to plummet quickly. Our hearts, bones and brain suffer. No perfect diet will produce more hormones. If you haven’t read the book Estrogen Matters written by an oncologist, it’s an eye opener.

I have only been carnivore (not strict though) since the 12 of August and already I have found that carbs are definitely not for me. I’ve been struggling with the shift but I’m coming out the other side. I don’t use scales, I use clothes and so far I’m doing a bloody good job at shrinking. I’m excited to see where my body ends up but most importantly I’m excited about feeling amazing and healthy.

Juanita, it can take a few months to really feel the benefits of carnivore. The hormones need to stabilise and fat adaption isn't a quick thing. If you have auto immune issues, expect a lot of healing to take place first. It wasn't until my 5-6th month that I felt fully adapted to it all. Best of luck. ❤

I’m on hrt due to severe hot flashes. Every 15 minutes around the clock. No sleep! I never wanted hormones but feel forced. The argument for taking them is humans weren’t supposed to live much longer after menopause and estrogen prevents osteoporosis and dementia. I would like to get myself healed and then I’ll consider getting off hrt but the hrt is helping me, night and day difference.
I do worry that the synthetic hrt will inhibit weight loss but I’m trying to not worry about it since my number one reason to be carnivore is to rid myself of severe carb addiction, joint pains, skin rashes. One day at a time.
