    People love to emphasize how "smart" she is (as does she), but intelligence without wisdom, self-awareness, situational awareness, and emotional intelligence quickly loses its value.
    If she is indeed on the autism spectrum, that can empower her to better understand the challenges she has, and strategize how to adjust situationally for better results. However, history shows that she'll likely use it to try to educate people on how to better understand and justify her ways, thus continuing to avoid accountability.

    I want to like her, but she’s exhausting. She also went on IG Live and informed that she had self-diagnosed herself with autism, which is different than what she specifically implied on Shannon’s interview (diagnosis from a clinical professional). I think she’s attempting to place blame of all unlikable traits on autism, and that’s truly not fair. I think she should just accept being unlikable by many, and enjoy the few people who she can get along with (in life). Acceptance. Then, move on… or accept that you need to change something about yourself to get along better with others. 🤷🏽‍♀️…. I’ve taught autistic students, and all were lovable and kind in their delivery in communication. My take on it is this. Maybe because Amanda was excited to be on an all black casting show there would be a sisterhood and camaraderie. Then Amanda felt very disappointed at some point in her relationship especially with Issa who is the lead of the show and the boss.Sometimes our people are not all going to get along and it's best to keep the relationship at a colleague rather than a personal relationship level. This sort of reminds me of Kim Cattrall and SJP of the SATC cast. 🤷🏾‍♀️

    • @KenasDanielle
      @KenasDanielle Месяц назад +1

      Well, my take and opinion is if before the show she (Amanda) was approached as a friend to be in the cast of this new show Insecure, then despite the work environment, you know that the friend you have asked to participate in your show happens to be a professional so you know if she is a good professional or a bad one. Because even if that's your friend, if she's professionally bad, you wouldn't have considered her to be part of it. But you did because you know she's great actually. So you and her know but not the rest of your team, being the boss, you have to introduce and clear the air, yes she is a friend but she is an employee and we need to respect each other = that's protection, acknowledging your friendship but also your work relationship.
      But if, they weren't friends and became that during the show, the boss is still the boss. So when a matter like this comes to light and affects the energy on the entire environment, a boss has to find a way to resolution. Saying it's your problem when all of them are your employees is negligence which affects people in the long run mentally, physically...etc. The obligation of an employer to protect for his employees to secure a good environment to work in = that is another protection.
      Regardless of how their relationship is in nature, at that moment, in that space (yes a party where celebrities make appearances to promote a show, it's not just a party, it is also work ... Where they happened to enjoy themselves 😅 but it is) the bottom line is the person who was supposed to protect, who had the tools to end it earlier, did absolutely nothing. Acting blind never helps in relationships, it causes just more harm, pain we keep seeing in Amanda statements.
      The people, we chose to surround ourselves with are an extension of who we are. Sending your publicist to your friend doesn't make sense if you're friends. If you don't have a problem with said friend, you don't have to wait next to a month period of time to finally talk to your friend when on a daily basis you are sharing a working space.

    I appreciate this commentary, Kempire. I don't always agree with Amanda, but I do feel that she is often misunderstood and that there are a number of people who have just decided they're not going to like her. Personally, I appreciate how she shows up for Black people and how she's not afraid to speak the truth, even when it's unpopular. It's nice to be liked by people; but I think we sometimes get it twisted and think that there must be something wrong with someone if enough people don't like him or her. I simply don't use likeability politics to determine if a person is genuine and of good character.

    Amanda said, "... one of the people that planned that party was Issa Rae's publicist..." I don't know if Issa herself was one of the planners, but apparently the publicist was. If the _publicist_ had Amanda on the no entry list, and the publicist is one of the planners, what exactly does that have to do with Issa? Did Amanda want Issa to fire her publicist? Surely not. I imagine she wanted Issa to talk to her publicist and attempt to smooth things over. But when it comes to the beginning of all of these issues, that wasn't Issa's responsibility. Maybe Amanda would have done that for Issa. They handle things differently. Ok. They have that right. "Hey boss, another of your employees didn't invite me to a party they threw with others." ........Ok.......... so what do you want me to do about it?
    Someone else told me that Jesse was one of the other planners. It's a sticky situation if one planner denies entry and another planner invites you, but why should the one who invited you disrespect the other planner's no entry list?
    Finally, when she had the opportunity to hear why the planner didn't like her, she chose to end the conversation. I think she should have at least heard the reason and then dismissed it if need be. It could be that the publicist perceived her energy and vibe and demeanor and personality too abrasive. That doesn't mean Amanda should change, but it could help her understand someone else's perspective and help her realize that other people might perceive her outward expressions differently than she feels them. Or maybe the publicist heard ___ from who she thought was good counsel but ___ never happened. Amanda could have cleared that up.

    I respect her for telling her side to these stories but it’s exactly that - her story. She’s giving me victim vibes and that’s my honest opinion. She feels like everyone has to protect her in situations she finds herself in, but no one owes her anything especially being a grown woman who seems to have a mouth loaded for any verbal altercation. Also, just because Issa handled the situation the way she did doesn’t mean she was promoting what her publicist did or anything else she’s being accused of. Clearly Issa holds a different position than Amanda does and has to move differently in order to not sabotage herself and her own blessings. And while I don’t think that what Amanda claims to have gone through is okay, I don’t feel like she understood the position Issa was put in. She may be intelligent but it doesn’t mean her actions doesn’t say she’s not problematic around others.
