It took me 48 hours to finish watching the interview, but I'm relieved that I managed to see it in its entirety. People often take clips and twist them to fit their own narratives. As someone who works with individuals with disabilities, advocates for mental health, and is empathetic, I resonated with her and Shannon at the start. I'm grateful that things calmed down and she was able to express herself fully. My hope is that this interview brings her some peace within. I believe it's important for people to have a positive self-image rather than feeling worthless and hopeless. As a woman of color, it's disheartening to witness how we treat each other at times. If we were more understanding and empathetic towards one another, we could progress much further. I admire Amanda Seales' talent and I pray for her continued success, not only in her career but also in her mental well-being. Unfortunately, many will overlook her admission of suicidal thoughts, nervous breakdown, and instead choose to criticize her.

@VTALKTV3 The entertainment industry is a collaborative industry. AS doesn’t play well with others. She admits to EVERYONE telling her they don’t like her. Yet she’s mystified. She doesn’t understand because she’s quite limited in her personal perceptions. How about LISTENING to other people? Her therapist tried to help her. If you don’t want to do what anyone says don’t do it. Don’t have a boss. Only work for yourself where everyone has to agree with you. Those negatives ARE positives. But not in all environments. She needs to find her lane and stop jumping from hither to post demanding that those that don’t like her to accept her. Thats kinda nutz.

@jontabroussard55 It's both really. Take The View as an example. Someone like her, who wasn't afraid to question the teachers in Florida, a school system allowing PragerU of all things to be used as a credible teaching source, really had no business being on that show. We all know they don't really have relevant conversations like that. People wanted to get on her for not being super expressive of that other lady's marriage announcement, and now she's divorced from the guy a few years later. Sure, she comes across as a victim in some cases without context passed the headline and blogs, but a lot of people just don't like her because she's very frank about things and make that her problem entirely instead of addressing their own insecurities over what she's saying. Is she a know it all, or do some people need to read more?

@@kemosabeusmc I'm not. Two things about your commemt, though:
      1. As Shannon said, why would she expect her to do something given the treatment (the very examples you mentioned) she stated she already endured from Marsha. If Marsha was already mistreating her, why would she expect her to do something?
      2. If Marsha wasn't going to go to Natalie's level to defend HERSELF, why would we think she'd do it for someone she supposedly doesn't like and is mistreating herself?
That's Amanda's naivete, which I believe she mentioned herself.

I think, fundamentally, she's not good at protecting herself. Which manifests itself in her being dissatisfied with others not stepping in on her behalf. She's not adept at reading people and situations. And like she says in the interview, she believes and trusts in the wrong people.

What protection was she expecting Marsha Ambrosius to give? A former band member went on the radio and said something you didn't like and...? What was Marsha supposed to do to "protect you"?

Great interview: She said it best. Expressed herself clearly. It's obvious thats she learned valuable lesson through the school of hard knocks.
(She received genius results by paying attention to detail).

Here’s a third theme.. EGO. For most people, The first night when you are not introduced by your cohost on stage and you get that cold shoulder and the management contracts weren’t right, you would think to yourself, this is how it’s going to be going forward. Then you leave. But she can’t leave because her ego wants to be loved and praise . She wants to be loved by people who have no history of loving. Which makes her constantly the victim.

Is it possible that neither Amanda nor Marsha were told the details of what was going on with the duo after Natalie was gone? Both were protecting themselves from their perspective of thinking the other was stepping on their opportunity? I mean, the higher ups never play Members against each other right? 🥴
