I actually hear the pain in his story. Imagine not talking to you mom, her not standing up for you when you were younger, having a bad and absend father and an even worse stepfather. Broken homes dont create better homes, if you dont heal and fix the foundation.
Right, mama played a major part in these kid talking to him as well. Because that's when mama gave a sit down and just talk to them. I'm just saying that's how I personally would handle that. To hold grudges with your PARENTS is tough.
When grown "children" don't mess with a parent more than likely there is a good reason. Perhaps in Gary's case the "kids" don't like that he cheated on their mom? Ya think? By the way, his oldest child is 30 and his youngest aside from his new twins is 19. They are adults and old enough to arrive at their own conclusions about their dad and his behavior.
It doesn't surprise me that his kids took their mom's side. If you watch their reality show, the family always treated him like a guest who was there to pay the bills. In the shows, everything is all about her. He was an outsider in his own home. You almost get the impression that he was the step-dad - the kids didn't listen to him. He was the butt of all the family jokes. He'd just smile and act happy. He shouldn't have cheated, but she could've treated him better. The kids don't value him enough to hear him out. He still paid their college tuition.
Actually from thier television show she was and still a mess, Gary had to do her part as a parent let's not forget she spent his/they money foolishly many times on projects that failed.

He didn’t truly want to leave because the children were young, and he didn’t want to pay her child support. His attorney probably told him he would be paying high child support and would be paying alimony. It was his plan to file for divorce after the kids became adults. Gary already knew that California is 50/50, and the wife should have received half because she build his small empire. Gary went to Ohio because it’s not a 50/50. Gary was wrong!
Stringing your family along for 2 months is insane, and If he really didn't want to blindside her, he should have told her when he filed, not on the day she was getting served. That's traumatic.

I always felt he was missing something, though, and this interview touches on that. The funniest people are those who are hurt the deepest. He is not whole. It's crazy what your parents can do.
Gary and Kenya were together 20+ years. No matter how done he was with the marriage, he owed her the respect of telling her that he planned to file for divorce. He comes across as if children should be able to separate the fact he was a good dad from the fact he lied to and deeply hurt their mom. The details of what led to the breakdown of their marriage are insignificant to how he is using notoriety to recruit people onside. He is doing more damage and it’s unfortunate that he can’t see that. As long as Kenya and their children are hurting, this isn’t a laughing matter.
You didn't listen at all, like most people smh. His wife cheated also, and she wanted a divorce also. He spoke on it but stated not airing her out. She just thought like most women who file which is 70% of all divorces. That she would be the first to file.
You didn’t just cheat on your wife, you cheated on your kids too. The kids had to deal with the aftermath of mending their mother’s heart after their father broke it…they didn’t sign up to be in a broken home. I too, STILL feel some type of way towards my dad when he cheated on my mother when I was 5; they put in the work and are still going strong 25 years later. But a child will never forget how their mother cries….just don’t cheat.
He cheated on his wife, not the kids. Good parents separate their personal issues from their children. I never understood why mothers bash their children’s fathers. If the father is really a deadbeat the truth always comes out. My parents are divorced. My father would always bash my mother in front of me. My mother never once said anything bad about him to me. Comedians make jokes of their pain. You either choose to laugh or cry. Common phenomenon. That said, doesn't justify the trauma to the kids. That's what happens when you have 2 immature adults.
Gary basically doesn’t understand boundaries. His daughter has asked him repeatedly to give her space and he shows up with reinforcements. Like at her college graduation this results in them retreating and pushing him away more. He has no one to blame but himself, he does what he wants and then makes excuses and justifies his behavior. His wife called him a narcissist and he basically just said “that’s the default what they all say.” He is dismissive of his kids feelings and until he gets that straight he might as well say goodbye to them.
I love Gary's comedy. I've seen kids not forgive a parent who cheated on another both ways. It's hard to watch your parent suffer because of cheating. Those kids don't see it that way. He is also spilling the tea everywhere. Boys also hate to see there mom's hurt and I've seen daughters walk away from a cheating mom after a divorce as well.
I think the kids feel betrayed by their father as well due to his infidelity
It doesn't surprise me that his kids took their mom's side. If you watch their reality show, the family always treated him like a guest who was there to pay the bills. In the shows, everything is all about her. He was an outsider in his own home. You almost get the impression that he was the step-dad - the kids didn't listen to him. He was the butt of all the family jokes.
He'd just smile and act happy. He shouldn't have cheated, but she could've treated him better.
The kids don't value him enough to hear him out. He still paid their college tuition.
He was honest and he admitted to his mistakes. And let’s not forget he is a comedian.

His wife called him a narcissist and he basically just said “that’s the default what they all say.”
He is dismissive of his kids feelings and until he gets that straight he might as well say goodbye to them.
He was MESSYYY. His kids definitely have legit reasons.
That's a punk answer
That's none of his kid's business.
I love Gary's comedy. I've seen kids not forgive a parent who cheated on another both ways. It's hard to watch your parent suffer because of cheating. I can see how Gary feels that he did better than his dad so he should be considered a great dad but that's not how it goes. I completely understand as someone whose kids have it better than me. Those kids don't see it that way. He is also spilling the tea everywhere. Boys also hate to see there mom's hurt and I've seen daughters walk away from a cheating mom after a divorce as well. Money doesn't fix it.

I agree. My Mother didn’t involve us or share the details, so it allowed us to maintain a relationship with both parents. I have a family member that had to politely ask her Mother to please stop telling her things about her Father. She has a really good relationship with him and wanted to keep it that way.
Yep I totally agree as my parents played sides that we believed we had to choose one or the other. It completely ruined so so much. In saying that though, it will teach me to not do the same with my children should I ever be in that situation (touch wood).

Gary doesn't seem to understand or didn't convey publicly how the divorce affected the kids. His actions in the marriage broke the kids hearts. He should write a letter.
