Your welcome. Glad to be of help. If you're getting ready for Darksiders 3, feel free to check out my playlist covering the rest of the Darksiders series.
I wanted to play (and this time finish) Darksiders 2, but wasn't in the mood to play the first game again just to remember the story. Thanks to your video, this wasn't necessary. I'm glad you made this. Thank you! :)
+wissam antoun I have plans for upcoming Darksiders content, including a Summed Up episode on Darksiders 2. Subscribe and stick around, and you'll definitely see that video.
All the way through the game I was confused by this seven seals stuff, council cutscenes and horsemen coming in the end. Simply calling a spade a spade you made the story clear as day
1. Why did war come to earth, although not all seven seals were broken? 2. What is the purpose of having the seven seals? Should the four horsemen not prevent the premature war from beginning? 3. Why does war have to wage war against the universe (at the end)?
1. That hasn't really been explained. He kind of just did. He says he "heard the call", but the others didn't. So we don't really know (or I can't accurately remember). 2. The Seven Seals are there to represent the truce between Heaven and Hell which is meant to hold until mankind is ready to participate in the war for the universe. Think of them as the lights in a stoplight, it's red as long as the seals are there, once it's hits green (all seals are broken) everyone can go at each other's throats. The Horseman job is to uphold the truce and prevent the war for starting prematurely, not prevent it from starting altogether. Once the war starts, their job is to go into the battle as judge, jury and executioner, smiting the wicked. 3. I can't say why the ENTIRE universe will be against him, but we have three major players: the Charred Council, Heaven and Hell. War himself is against the Council as they wrongly imprisoned him and set him up; he killed five big guns from Hell (not to mention scores of lesser demons); and he has quite a few angel kills under his belt too, even if the Destroyer had betrayed Heaven and would've been sentenced to death anyway, the other dozens of angels War killed had committed no known crimes.
1. The Council somehow knew of Abaddon's plan to break the six seals and prematurely start the war, so they secretly sent War to punish him. Since the last seal was never broken, they couldn't "officially " send all Horsemen, so they decided to summon only one, and then they blamed him for everything to feed his sense of vengeance so that War would want to kill the Destoyer/Abaddon. That's why only War appeared on Earth as far as I know, and that's how the Council manipulated War to do their bidding.
@@Pumplymooze Yeah, yeah. That's better explained. It's been a while since I played this. One small thing though, they knew of Abaddon's deed, not his plan. They called War AFTER the fact, not before. Otherwise they would've prevented Abaddon from breaking six of the Seals in the first place. But, like I said, minor detail. Good explanation, mate!
I came here because I got Darksiders 2 from Septembers Humble Bundle Monthly. I really appreciate this video getting me ready for the sequel by summarizing the first game fantastically (I think..) Awesome video quality. Please make more.

Couple points that I still don't understand: 1. Why did the 6 seals not get reforged? 2. Why does the council say that they have no proof of Abbadon being guilty? Don't they know 6 of the seals are broken? Is it not a crime until you break all 7? If so, why make 7? 3. Why is Ulthane exiled? 4. Are we just supposed to assume that Hell just assumed the Endwar was starting when the seals started breaking even though not all 7 were broken?
this stories plot gets pretty confusing at the part where you see abaddon and the council scheming, i think they could have done a better job clearing up their intentions really glad this video was here to clear it up
