I loved Fuzzbox when they first appeared as I also realised I was not the only fuzzy, crazy redhead in the world called "Vix" & we are exactly the same age! Today this Vix (me!) & the gorgeous Vix Perks are in our mid 50's! These days my red hair comes mostly from a bottle, but I bet Vix of Fuzzbox still looks terrific. So very sad to hear of the passing of lovely guitarist Jo. Rest peacefully sweetheart xxx
As a massive Fuzzbox fan in 1986,aged 16, I had all the singles, the album, posters on my wall and played everything on a loop. Carried on playing their stuff into my Twenties and Thirties (on occasions)but really respected the bravado, the energy and the simple innocence of the band. Aged 43 I went to a Wildhearts Gig and was dumbstruck to see Vix singing as support. We had arrived early, and my heroine was in front of me at the bar. Mustering up courage I said nervously, "Hey Vix,I just have to say...I was a massive fuzzbox fan" . "Yeah" said my mate. "He used to wank over the posters". You really fucking get to know who your mates are.
Four gorgeous girls who could write AND play. Their sense of fun (especially in the videos) was incredible. This is a big fave of mine, but i adore the whole album (which is criminally underrated!!). Such good memories. Thanks, ladies!! RIP Jo... \m/
I remember Fuzzbox before they got the "makeover" and they were a proper "indie" band when you had the old "Indie charts". Still a good song and video though..
I went to the UK in June 1989. I went to Tower Records in London and bought a double cassette called "The Hits Album 10", which I still listen to!!! This song is in the collection and this is the first time I've seen the music video. Other great songs in the collection are "That's When I Think of You" by 1927, "Wages Day" by Deacon Blue, "Requiem" by London Boys, "Wise Up Sucker" by Pop Will Eat Itself, "Cuddly Toy" by Roachford, and "People Hold On" by Coldcut/Lisa Stansfield. :)
It is a great collection, especially That's When I Think of You by 1927, a great Australian band. Their debut album Ish is full of excellent songs and it is a shame they never made it in the UK or America, which their sound is more suited to. Deacon Blue are a class apart from many other bands of the era and are still going strong in 2017.

I've held that pin that she's holding in the video. I used to work in a store in Birmingham, and one of my customers brought it in. I can't remember the story of how it came into his possession, but he said it was used in a Fuzzbox video, and someone had let him keep it. It wasn't from the time the video was made, it must have been very late 90s to early 2000s. I was watching the movie 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' today.
