Funny thing is, this is actually a cover. It was originally by Shocking Blue and was a number one hit about 15 or so years before Bananarama covered it (to be fair, Bananarama's version was also a chart topper).

Everytime this song played at a club somewhere back in the 80's you would not be able to find a place on the dance floor. They were hotter than the planet Venus🔥.
This level of classic video deserves to be enjoyed in 4K quality. It's a shame the most iconic videos from the golden age of music are only in 480p to 720p.
I never got a choreography synch vibe from this. It’s 3 beautiful, powerful women, each unique in their own way owning their essence and chanting for the all powerful Venus. Made me a believer. How he didn't manage to ruin his favourites for himself and still put in the CDs for us with the exact same enthusiasm every time was a miracle all in itself. ❤😅
Bananarama should be in the rock and roll hall of Fame
AT LEAST, HONEY. AT LEAST.
It’s a cruel bummer.
Agreed
C'mon now, that's just foolish.
The 80s and 90s will always be the best decades of history for me.
Mostly the 80s, goddamn.
You have very low standards, imho. The 80s was a decade that I have done my best to forget.
yeah that's right
80’s are the bom!! 90s too!!
I love watching this, over and over. Timeless.
Remembering running into The Wiz downtown NYC to buy the 12" version of this. Still a favorite!
X2….The Wiz 😂…
Dancing in the mirror as a teenager in the 80s with no worries😍
@Ray Rocco yup and hair and natural nails still long😅
Me too.... 😊😍😍
yes really dancing mucis .perfect 80 mucis
Ahhh, no worries...if only I realized back then that what i though were problems I would laugh at today... sigh lol 😂
Ripped blue jeans, leather jacket, vampires, it's like it was made yesterday!
Darren Bauer The 80's baby. You gotta love it.
When everything was a sample or a COVER
Yes but she wears those ripped blue jeans so well
It doesn't sound like it was made yesterday though, it sounds very 80's (that's a good thing).
Rather the other way around Bauer . That's rather today's youth who forgot how to be creative . And just copies the past.
I love the 80s, but don't forget the original from 1969. Shocking Blue - Venus. Both great.
It isn't of the 80', I feel very very young
For me, what RULES about this video are the different costumes and goddesses and mythical creatures they put together… just BEAUTIFUL
The 80s are the best decade of every century...
I agrre👍
@@mjosesintilde they didn't say the decade was perfect
Agreed so much!
nachoijp - You got that right !
Um... Industrial revolution and cold war/housing market scare (?)
[Edit] I forgot about the AIDS crisis
I don't usually like covers, but this is the best version of this song.
No, the best version was sung by Shocking Blue, the best version. Give it a listen.
@@rsz90182No, this cover is better than the original.
Not Mariska Veres - but they're good!
@@rsz90182 OK, I listened to it again for the 1000th time and I was correct.
@@dylry86 No, it's not.
What an alluring trio, Bananarama. Wonderful video, I think I am in love.
Perfect re-make of the original. The music is so perky and the dancing and sets just right. The 80s are gone forever but this rendition will live on. Thank you Bananarama, three pretty English girls, who just want to have fun.
Two English, one Irish.
@@H0n3yMonstah Yeah, pretty sure Siobhan Fahey is an Irish name. And her sister Maire was really cute as Eileen, in Dexys Midnight Runners' _Come On Eileen_ .
It's always a question of taste ... As i already wrote, i find the original version much much better, this one is quite poor for me ... I Just can't stand that "plastic / digital" sound of the 2nd half of 80s!!! As a fan of electronic music, i really loved the coming back of analog sounds in the 90s !!!!
@Curt Christensen Of course they are (were) very nice and Hot :-) BUT i thought we were talking about music ... !!!
@Curt Christensen If You think so i suggest You to visit adult/porn Web sites :-) rather than RUclips ... :-) of course i like girls, too ... but here we're talking about music and this cover is quite poor, imho .... the original is much better !!! And there are female singers or actresses much hotter than Bananarama, in any case !
Temazo!!!!
Sounded great in the clubs great to dance to
perfect group of most beautiful singers at the time -natural well the 80s was
Incredible song. Gets the feet tapping. One of the most underrated groups in history.
Love this song! One of my favorite songs from the 80s! ❤️💜🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely...
The Best 80's Bananarama Video Ever 💖😍💖😍😍😍💞💋🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
You do know that it's a cover? Originally done by Shocking Blue.
The three Bananarama ladies always looked so cool.
@@MrCoontastic it's a cover, but is better in my opinion
@@rainluna9765 you're soo right
Arguably Bananarama's signature song. Their hairstyles and attire in this music video is always how I remember them.
Funny thing is, this is actually a cover. It was originally by Shocking Blue and was a number one hit about 15 or so years before Bananarama covered it (to be fair, Bananarama's version was also a chart topper).
Cruel summer thank you. My God some people
I loved this song , glad you have it.
I love this song. The girls were the inspiration for Absolutely Fabulous.
Keren Woodward arguably the most beautiful pop star to have ever graced the earth ♡
Siobhan Fahey A looot prettier!!!!! :)
@@gabrielaxyz9577 nooooo way Keren is way more beautiful, but each to their own.
No way.... Sara for me every single time. Just my personal taste but I think her face is pretty damn perfect!

How does he do that?

Is it just me, or is the mix they used here worse than the one in American Dad?
*El Generalissimo
Wow, what a great performance by 3 beautiful ladies. Rock on girls.👍👍👍👍
One of my favorite childhood songs 😃
Mine too (although back in those years I was strictly a metalhead and I would not assume my wider musical tastes for anything in the world 😂 Kids can be the silliest sometimes)
Me too ❤私もです‼️🇯🇵
WOW...this song never gets old and it really takes me back!!! It was the very first song I ever danced with my 'now' husband all those years ago. He sang it to me as we danced...it was an amazing night! I love the song so much that I just made a cover of it! 💗💗💗
Banarama always looks like they had a blast making videos
always
They are having so much fun in this video haha
Everytime this song played at a club somewhere back in the 80's you would not be able to find a place on the dance floor. They were hotter than the planet Venus🔥.
Cocaine and hair spray 🤣🤘
@@mototoad1242 And all kinds of hair too, pink, purple, spiked...etc 😄.
Cliff herman. Yea. That's. When. Ii. Started. To. Grab. Some. Booty. The. Other. Dude. All. Ways. Got. Slapped. Too. Much. Fun...
This level of classic video deserves to be enjoyed in 4K quality.
It's a shame the most iconic videos from the golden age of music are only in 480p to 720p.
Love this song, video, and the entire True Confessions album ❤️
I never got a choreography synch vibe from this. It’s 3 beautiful, powerful women, each unique in their own way owning their essence and chanting for the all powerful Venus. Made me a believer. Knowing that they did both together and independently later just secured my kneeling at the alter of bananarama
love this song and i love the 80's !!
I’m officially 80’s homesick
Shocking Blue was the group’s name,1969, was the year made originally.
There was a lot less violence. Beefs were settled by fists
One of the few songs that you can say the original and the cover are both classics.
wwooowww...today, i told my 10yo son , the same thing because, there is a remix of the original "Shocking Blue" version! ........i told him all three of them are great!!!!😁
@@Stephstar80 you're giving him good education haha.
No, you can't.
@@Stephstar80 what's the 3rd one?
@@trecepesos Agreed. This synth-pop version is tedious and irritating
