Got a few of these last year. Few problems with them: ECU went in one 2 months old. 6 months later again. Some starting to have adblu issues. In general they are pretty well built. Indicator lamps on the steps are rubbish- come loose, bad design. With the smaller air tanks fitted, they are a nuisance, drop the mid lift axle, air drains. Same as when you lift the air suspension.. comfortable, look good, interior is nice.
Hi Kev, I'm in an 18 plate TGM 18tonner curtain sider at the moment, the drivers seat is lovely, the steering nice and positive just wish it wouldn't change gear when I am pulling away at traffic lights so quickly🙄🤔 end up losing momentum when I want to get going😳 it seems that I am on a on going assignment in Kuehne Nagel in Yeovil, I rarely get out of Yeovil but on the plus side its regular hours, weekly pay and its good experience. I did come around to say hi at Devon Truck Show but with so many others their I didn't want to hover so hopefully catch up with you all somewhere else, next year I'm camping at Devon again
Gearbox sometimes too clever for itself like you say on topography runs. The rotary control for screens is so intuitive. It’s the truck I choose every time over the other Renault or DAF choices at work.
Good to see an honest review Kev shame I never got to speak to ya at the Devon truck show but you were obviously busy with other folks so maybe next year buddy but still a good review and hopefully a few more like this
Well what an interesting video from Kev Tee. This time we are treated to a Review of the 2022 MAN TGX Tractor Unit. I must admit that I did enjoy seeing the review of the TGX & look forward to seeing if Kev Tee will do any more Tractor Unit Reviews??
Old MAN wasn’t bad except the sluggish gearbox and the huge steering wheel, otherwise was quite a comfy thing. I think they run a scania gearbox now on these and most Important bit, it’s got wing mirrors !
As someone who has one of these I unfortunately have a traxon in mine and it is so slow, the interior lights have fell out of the roof and don't work anymore. I do like the space in them as you have a lot of room but I feel like everything is so rushed and cheap feeling (material wise)
New pass driver and I have a 69 plate TGX. I agree with it kicking into Eco mode which can catch you out when overtaking. I like the look of this new MAN. If my company upgrades to the new MAN I'll be very happy :) Cheers for the informative vids which helped me when passing my test
I've driven a 71plate man 7ltr coach, it's soooo slow almost dangerous when pulling out of junctions, very hesitant/delayed when accelerating. Next gen looks alot better
Nice review Kev, looks an improvement over the outgoing model which is all you can ask! Hope you had a good time in Devon, keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀🚛
Gearbox has always been a problem at times it doesn't realise it's a gearbox I drove a man for a while on the back roads the cab bounced a lot which was hell on my back and when approaching a roundabout when you slowed down and the road was clear and you accelerated it didn't know what gear to select the Volvo Ishift is the best gearbox
I heard that these are meant to have the Scania running gear, i.e engine and gearbox. I work on lorries so will look forward to seeing these in our workshop at some point. The old ones with their gearboxes weren't very nice.
We had one on demo for a week and nobody would drive it 🤣🤣 I took it back to the dealers wasn’t a bad drive to be fair tho , is that your old fh currently for sale on eBay ?
We have 3 on 21 reg and they all suffer from terrible air build up.the turbo fell off one when it was a couple of weeks old,an egr pipe split on another one ,the interior lights are only 12 volt and bulbs blow constantly.if you shunt around with a heavy load on they creak and groan from the rear suspension/chassis like and ancient erf on steel springs.the bunk matress is so thin one of the lad got a 2nd matress to lay on top.as for the ridiculous design of the rear battery carrier.hanging off the back of the chassis....asking for trouble.the factory catwalk isnt very well thought out either....split level trip hazard.door window rubbers need to be pushed back into place as the get dragged off by the window glass.cab tilt pump access flap in steps have broken after the first opening.rather have my 65 reg actros than a new MAN .they seem to have forgotten to put an access step in the front bumper so you can clean the screen and front mirror.just give you and extending pole with a squeegee on.the seat buttons have pushed thru the trim panel already.
Had a MAN tgx for 6months. Shocking unit from MAN . Gear change is poor, air horns don’t come as standard. Infotainment sounds good when it works. Sub has packed in, screen freezes, DRL packs in, door fins rattle, sunroof jams, door seals get trapped and leak, blind rattles, electric faults left right and centre …. Very cheaply built. Everything in this video… think the opposite 😂
Believe me, most things do...driven most generations of Mack trucks, the '70's ,the Renault generation and the current Volvo ones on both hemispheres... not my first choice!
WHY oh WHY with all that space, do they make the fonts on the buttons and displays SO FRIGGING TINY!! They are like 12 point font - why not make them BIG and fill the space on the buttons? When you are driving in poor light, trying to refocus your eyes from outside to inside, to look at the teeny weeny little letters is dangerous! The cost is ZERO.....but the improvement is massive! Nice looking beast though!
I've driven a Scania 770 and there alright I guess, unnecessary but the alright.... I do class Scania as the benchmark but they still have there issues. Your opinion on the MAN is invalid as you've obviously never driven the new gen as it's pretty close to the Scania for driver comfort and quality.
@@KevTee true, not driven the MAN Gen,but I take your word on comfort. As for power take my word, noting I repeat nothing comes near a 770 Scania I do a lot of Spain and Portugal. The 770 eats hills for breakfast.
The bit about 5 things you hate, i found it incredibly funny. Just the way you presented it was hilarious!
Nice review Kev. I've always had a soft spot for MAN, a good truck to live in.
love this truck design and colors that's the way with some detail in crome ,cabin beige its nice an comfortable for the driver
Love that video Kev, Just passed my C+E last week. I’ve got a DAF XF to look forward to but that MAN looks superb ❤️❤️❤️
Sympathies

I drive it every day. Love it.
I expect the large amount of storage is useful for the international drivers. Trucks are definitely more advanced than back in my day😂 Stay safe Kev

Great review kev... always liked driving the man's... well thought out cabs imho
Looks like a nice ride mate, I used to drive the MAN on class one and trippers
Good horns on the brand new MAN TGX kev
Smart truck, see you didn't bother setting the roof spoiler!
Do like the look of the new man’s how was truck fest
Great video kev I liked the truck hope you will drive it around sometimes I agree with you with the cup holders not good

Sorry we never got round to chatting Neil, was a very busy weekend. Hope you enjoyed the show. Glad you enjoyed the review 👍
I buddy hope you are well. What a awesome machine I love the man it will take some beating this one. Take care and happy trucking to you phil.
The look the dogs nuts kev

Where does the microwave go in the man
Very nice infotainment!
Like the interface!
Nice truck that Kev
Are you thinking of keeping the truck
Awesome vlog as always kevtee and nice truck
Enjoyed the video chap...
nice does it lose air pressure two easy ?
They do yes!

Something different kev, not into trucks
but it looks a damn good looking truck.
Another string to bow.
Nice one Kev. Thanks 👍
Brillant video mate 👌👍
The one I'm driving is from 2022,it has over 4000km but what I hate the most about this truck is the gearbox and lack of power up hill.
I’m currently driving a 510 2022 and it just keeps pulling! Blinding unit!
That's actually our truck once released from its demo duties!
Nice review Kev, looks an improvement over the outgoing model which is all you can ask! Hope you had a good time in Devon, keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀🚛
Knobs and buttons are good. Nice review.
seen quite a few of these on the road, they are such a good looking truck!

Nice one ... but how come Luke C got the VOLVO 🤣😁
Great work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Great trucks the MAN, I drive one myself
Great video Kevtee
Good review! Thanks. I never like Man, but this seen to be nice!
Looks nice and modern Kev. Be good if you could test drive the new Volvo compare the difference to the one you drove
Those side lockers are huge 😲 Trucker Jay would be able to fit a whole massage parlours worth of bodies in there 👍👍
A very good Sunday evening you all from Wellington Somerset
Scania all the way
You not doing salvage anymore

Only over 500 bhp uses the scania box under still the same man shite

yes kev its great nice looking cool 2 see you all at the show bye from norwich
Cheers Chris, was great to see you at the show, hope you had a good journey back 👍
@@KevTee yep all good stoped a lot lol
Never have too much chrome.
🤮🤮🤮
@@KevTee 😄 let’s just say ‘in my opinion’ the level of chromatic decoration is perfect. And yes, beige should be burnt.
Inside dashboard locking not good like old but tg2 dashboard locking very good
Did you say T J X???
Ummmm maybe 😂😂
The 21 plates we’ve got all the mirror and window switches broke
I remeber you tested new Super Scania. When you can choose Scania Super or this new MAN then which one you pick?
The Scania Super all day 🤙🤙
@@KevTee thanks. That’s what I thought 😉But after bought now MAN i would say Scania got 2nd spot after trieng both of them
We had one on demo for a week and nobody would drive it 🤣🤣 I took it back to the dealers wasn’t a bad drive to be fair tho , is that your old fh currently for sale on eBay ?
Scott andrews will be impressed if he gets one
You can’t beat a bit of Crome, just need to keep it clean. But where did the cup holders come from ? No good to man or beast.
looks great inside but you have to look hard to tell its the new one or the old one
Yes a agree, the difference is quite subtle 👍
I don’t understand your issue with a bit of chrome on a truck, I think it sets it apart from the competition.
better than a atkinson borderer then
Just !

Yep... and im sure you don't have all these issues on day 1 of driving it, unfortunately I can only give my opinion on the day I drive it.
That man steering wheel looks very much like a vw especially the volume buttons
At least it has proper mirrors so you can see what you are doing not those dreadful cameras
Like the Chrome, like the outside, not crazy about the inside, nothing but bins to store junk
nothing beats a MAC

& why is it worst ? because no 700hp engine ? or the gearbox is rubbish ?

MAN trucks were always a bit plasticky and budget/built down to a price. They were always almost good but never quite as good as they could be.
