    I don't mind van delivery videos. Nice to see you're getting a bit of variation. Also interesting to see how far breaking and salvage has come over the past 10-15 years in terms of modernisation and more environmentally friendly facilities, and that perfectly good recovered parts aren't going straight to the crusher.

    Massive congratulations to Trents for getting ahead of the curve and everyone else, on vehicle recycling. Clearly, they have some very smart people in charge.
    I live in the Poole area and as Kev says, they are a local family business who've been around forever.
    I can remember going to their yard over 50 years ago, climbing across stacks of (unstable) old cars trying to find bits for my beloved first car - an Austin A35! I recall buying a bottle jack for 7/6d (37.5p).
    Seeing what they've achieved makes me think that Trents could probably make a pretty decent job of running the country too.

    Trent really deserve recognition for this. I think many people still believe spent cars are simply crushed into cubes and turned into washing machines. This should be made into a TV documentary to show how environmentally efficient the end life of vehicles can be.
    As one who's almost always maintained his own cars over 45 years (and counting) of motoring, it shows how far things have changed from the early days when we used to scramble over piles of precariously placed cars scavenging for parts which were often unavailable new due to a troubled UK car industry. Very well done to Trent and thank you to Kev for making this video.

    When loading you should check route first and load the van in that order

    • @KevTee
      @KevTee  2 года назад

      Yeah it's a bit more difficult when certain items only fit in particular places in the van (doors behind the box). Also loading from 2 locations don't help (door on the pallet in front of gearbox pallet). Ideally the bulkier items would of been delivered first but they wouldn't of been open so had to do the furthest and work my way back.
      I had a rough idea of the route before loading but because of reasons mentioned above it would of been difficult to load in a different order.

    A job I had to do occasionally when I was an apprentice mechanic for Rob Walkers (for those who are old enough to remember them) Three days a week on inter-branch runs from Bournemouth to Warminster, back to Blandford, on to Dorchester and Bridport then back home. One day a week for the London run via Southampton to Wimbledon, Mitcham, Lancia and Alfa Romeo at Ealing and Alperton (can`t remember which was where) then back home via Fiats on the A4 ear Chiswick! No M3 or M27 (the old Wichester by-pass!!!! Aaarrgghhh!) And all done in an Austin J4! One jolly wheeze was the "windscreen box" that was actually used to put the sweepings from the floor in and went to and fro between the two main stores until someone got fed up with it and lumbered one of the smaller garages with it!

      @@Mrfort The load order was correct because I done it, the bulky items couldn't come off first as they still would of been closed. Door shouldn't of been on a pallet as its not how we deliver doors, hence the pole system in the van. Thanks
