I drive one of these a few yrs ago was a 540hp I really enjoyed it very comfortable truck well designed. I drive a Scania r650 now I like it way more but the MAN seat was much better on my back
Interesting as a friend is Switching from a TGX 2018 500HP top spec to a Scania R450 2018 as the MAN had many electrical fault, two sets off batteries replaced, the stationary climate system not working correctly, the gearbox mishandling shifts. A truck with about 100K km on the clock used only in the day and no sleeping in the cab.
we had the new MAN TGX on demo this week, its soo good. is so more comfortable then like a scania S or a Merc actros or a daf. ours had 470 hp but outpulled a daf XF 480. man did such a good job on this one. happy this one didnt turn out like the previous one!
I live in Canada and as a truck driver I would love to have these trucks here they look much nicer and have many more functions and the size of the fridge is humongous
@@bicyclenerd.9377 But the US trucks will smoke the scania in highway speed and high speed fuel economy. and lets not even start a comparison between bunk space because this will just lead to the scania running back home in tears.
@@angrysocialjusticewarriorthat’s because Europe has strict rules about maximum truck speeds that are mostly 80 Km/h or because y’all Americans want to be different: 50 mph and in some countries 90 km/h (55 mph) if they didn’t have that rule then European Trucks would beat American trucks easily
@@angrysocialjusticewarrior They're only capable of doing that because they have no nuts. North American engine/transmission combos are weak-sauce compared to their European brethren. The Euro models will smoke *any* standard NA model while pulling up hills. It's not about how fast you can go on flat ground.
I like this channel because the steering wheel is right... mostly on other channels, especially in Europe, on the left steering wheel... I'm in Indonesia myself and it uses the right steering wheel. I hope this channel grows...
Volkswagon is now at the head of Navistar here in the US, when will we see the awesome D38 in our Lonestar's?? Not to mention the Scania V8's Ya'll have all the cool stuff, we want some. LOL
Great video Stavros. It's a pity you didn't get a chance to go round the old TGA as a compare and contrast. Also, it would be interesting to see how well she has held up after over a million kms. I have a 2020 TGX which is lovely, apart from the fact it's the first ever auto box I've had. How I miss the old manual box. MAN are mad dropping that as an option. It was a fantastic gearbox. I've Driven MAN's for twenty odd years now. All been great.
You missed one part in this tgx, on the corners, you have these sensors so when you have someone in your blind spot they go off, and they flash to tell you there is someone there, so pretty cool feature, they are located on the corner parts where the your mirros are mounted, but they are inside the cab
V.W also own Scania so there could be many shared parts in the future. V.W. own twelve major car / truck brands have 100 production facilities and 300000 employees amazing from next to nothing in 1945. That's what you call a turnaround.
Getting one of these in June in the 6x2 mid lift configuration to replace a 2016 TGX 480 still pulls well even when fully freighted Looks very nice cheers for the review Stavros
Parabéns pela avaliação, como sempre bem detalhada e imagem perfeita. Excelente caminhão o MAN , aqui no Brasil agora é vendido como VW Meteor. Abraços.
I was happy he let you take the test drive but surprised he let you drive it first! Thanks, Iver. I enjoyed the video but I think you might have a bias toward Scania! Thanks Stavros for a great video.
Looks like a decent truck, I'm surprised how much it looks like the old models inside in certain areas but the dash and fridge looks a huge improvement. Is that steering wheel smaller?? But I still want one.
I love the new MAN. I just feel sad they no longer have that extra window on top. It’s just nicer imo because you have so much light that comes in and that is like a feature that no other truck has. I wish MAN reads this and will add it.
nice evolution , interesting benchmarks with the scania from stavros, but they should consult drivers like stavros about some small details when designing it , this truck is a long time coming and the dash is way better than the old disaster design of the middle area, the door walk-round buttons are a superb idea, the speaker in the locker was a very odd thing especially how far it sticks out, rachet strap sets are going to wreck that speaker . good luck to m.a.n , the original tga was a peach and the thumb clutch was a novel idea till the full auto came along. i hope the tgx gets alot of new customers.
The buttons on door at the bottom are a brilliant idea the amount of times I go to open the passnager side door and have to climb in to push button as I have a DAF . Would be good to put the PTO switch there Aswel as on dash . Good idea that
MAN now have a great gearbox in the traxon by ZF, it really is great, very smooth, and also quick to shift, albeit not quite as quick as the new Scania Opticruise perhaps - but on the plus side I'd bet you it's more reliable than the opticruise in the long run. I mean if they wanted it to shift faster ZF could easily do that, they afterall designed & produce the fastest shifting automatic transmission since 2017 with their ZF8HP line, which is used in a wealth of high performance cars.
After watching the Iveco S-way video, the Iveco seems better thought out. Having oil dipstick, able to top the washer fluid easily etc etc. And front airbags on the cab. No armrests for the passenger. Some VAG cheaping there.
Hi Stavros, how does it compare to the previous TGX. I always enjoyed driving those, but felt the were a bit fragile, and hard work to manoeuvre. But for doing a cruise to Felixstowe to Manchester, nothing would beat it for comfort. It does look like a gorgeous truck though. Sadly my company seems wedded to Scania!. Cheers
Spent a lot of time in an old TGX and loved them, This looks like a step in the right direction but oh so much is carried over from the old truck. But do really want to get some seat time in one now.
I do like the way the new MAN is finished off same layout inside a coach/bus is as well well finished off inside and out i still think pulling power when pulling off on hill should be made alot better
Wow, that MAN is quite the beauty, love it. Thanks for this awesome video! Wishful thinking, but I hope MAN would be able to do something about the floor hump to flatten it out like the Scania S and give their new trucks the feature to have Mirror-cams too.
